Before an incoming attack connects, Shinshiki activates his Rinnegan, causing it to emit a blue glow. Instantly, his body vanishes without a trace, leaving behind a dozen glowing red orizuru that gently descend to the ground before dissolving.

What actually transpires is that Shinshiki travels back several seconds into the past, erasing his chakra signature as he does so. In the past, he forms a dozen Orizuru before opening a portal to make his escape.

This technique allows him to evade danger and leave behind a diversion in the form of the Orizuru, while his chakra signature remains untraceable.
