Chapter One

'...I think the solution for man's greatest problem is patience.' A loud and cheerful clapping of thousands is followed by that statement. I'm in a big conference hall where my opinion was sought on a certain issue... which don't remember.

Ring! Ring!

It's my annoying alarm clock. It's morning again. And yeah, the conference thing was just a dream. I was just interrupted while having another one of my big dreams. I'm not the nightmare kinda person. In my dreams I see myself reaching the stars. I feel important. I feel more relevant. Not that I'm not relevant in real life but sometimes it's a bit exaggerated. The idea of giving a speech at conference is okay. But asking my opinion is improbable. I can say something and people would believe me but my point of view is usually not regarded.

I always have most mind-boggling dreams. The other time I had a dream that I was hosting a show such as The Ellen Show. I was talking to Lizzy Greene. I mean, out of all the celebrities why does it have to be her?  In my dream she told the show that she was not blonde and that she uses dye. Ever since that day I started following her profile and reading about her personal life. Like, If I got the chance I might be the peskiest paparazzi. Not like anyone actually cares what colour her hair is. But honestly she would look prettier with brown hair. I'm just saying←_←

I remember the least weird an most normal dream I've had. One time I dreamt that my mum being protective over a piece of pizza. Like wtf? Mum doesn't even like pizza. We all made it a mission to take mum's pizza. Just when I was about to get the pizza I was brought back into the living world...urgh! My annoying alarm clock.

I feel like I slept only three minutes. Well considering I went to bed 3 am and it's now 5:30 in the morning that's the attitude. I stayed up all night uploading my dumb blog and hosting Live streams on Instagram. And studying for Chemistry quiz. No matter how much time I waste doing social media I always save time for school stuff. I'm very acquainted with my education. And you can say "why do Live streams at night?" Well most of my followers are from different countries, which means different time zones. Plus, the best connections happen at night.

For the past three weeks this has been my routine and I still haven't gotten used to it. I've always woken up past five in the morning, used to that. But the stay-up-at-night thing has really shaken me. Today makes twenty one days since I last slept up to 5 hours straight. Sometimes I even skip classes and snooze at the library.

'why not take a quick 10 minutes shot eye?' I think to myself. Then I remember that I definitely don't wanna be woken up by my back up alarm, my mum.

Just then "Aleeya, are you awake or do you want me to come up there?" I'm sort of amused to hear say that everyday just for one thing. Her voice. My mum has an Indian accent. Or is it Pakistani? I'm confused. She was born in India to Indian parents, but grew up in the US. My dad was a half cast. His father was from Syria and his mother from Pakistan. Though he was born and brought up in the US, he still has the weird accent. Well as for me I have the American accent. Sometimes I wish I had the British accent.

"No mum, you don't have to come. I'm already awake" I said quickly as I jerked myself awake instantly. Off to the bathroom. I walked into the bathroom, stopped by the mirror to look at my face. There's a little drool on my cheek. No wonder I still sleep like a baby. I freshened up and performed Salat. I'm a Muslim
