Talia pokes her head around the corner without warning, wiping her hands on a cloth napkin, and gives me an inquisitive look. "Are you hungry? I made soup."
I startle and glance toward her, smiling a bit sheepishly. "Y-Yeah...I could...use a snack, I think." I rub my eyes.
I haven't eaten much today anyway.
