Chapter 14

Not believing that I had just gaslighted Stain, I rushed toward him. I may not have experience in martial arts, but thanks to the system, I managed to absorb a martial art of a sect from the cultivation world into my brain. That martial art was more focused on exploiting human weaknesses and joints. You know how powerful those guys were. You know, the distance that usually takes the MC to fly for years, when he levels up, would be crossed in minutes, and they would still have an enemy that could kill them with a slap. Their martial arts were so advanced that they could fight armies of those who were just one rank under them, not just a few levels at the same rank.

Stain had a confused look when I squatted and punched him in the face. But the killer instinct kicked in. He jumped backward, perfecting his timing to make my punch work as a push, lessening the damage to himself.

Stain backflipped and held his sword with two hands, pointing the blade at me. "I don't know who you are or what you are doing, but if you think I could say such blasphemy, then I have to take you down."

He had a calm look, not looking confused anymore. Now the beast had regained his composure.

I looked left and right, searching for a weapon. I stomped on the ground; a metallic pipe rose, and I held it. My physical capabilities were high, and I could finish the fight the moment I used aura. The thing I feared was if I used my aura and Stain got arrested, he would testify that a man with a red aura attacked him. In a world where people's quirks were registered, you couldn't get away with it. The detectives could link it to me. But I could use chakra to augment my attacks.

Stain dashed at me with his sword, swinging it. My body instinctively reacted by forcing my strength to my toe, making me slide a meter backward in an instant.

Seeing that there was an opening, I held my metallic pipe as if I were holding a sword and swung. Stain brought the blade above his head and blocked. His blade failed to cut the pipe. I continued with a series of heavy attacks, and Stain's legs were shaking with each one.

I didn't dare to underestimate him since having more strength didn't mean my foe hadn't dealt with those stronger.

Stain gave up on blocking as he jumped a few meters in the air, backflipping. From his hand, in an instant, a series of kunais headed at me, each aimed toward a vital point. Chakra wasn't a good option to block these either, and I didn't know if my armor could block everything. I channeled my mana, bringing my aura under my clothes, which deflected the kunais.

'How do I beat him? He is agile like a cat, but he is not strong.' I ran around with my max speed, turning into a blur like a human, and Stain had to keep turning his head to look for me. He reached into his pocket, throwing a knife at me. I jumped, placing my legs on a nearby wall and squatted on it. Stain, like a ninja, dashed at me.

'It's all or nothing,' I thought, before jumping and flying toward Stain.

"You can't dodge in the air," mocked Stain.

I slammed my palm in the air at him. From this distance, Stain won't be able to dodge. My palm was surrounded by golden light before a strong wave flew from it, hitting Stain and sending him flying 10 meters away to a wall, marking his side with a palm mark.

Puking blood, Stain dropped his sword and fell to his knees.

"Who are you?" he asked, "For a vigilante, you're strong."

I took a series of quick breaths, as being a 5th level Qi refining cultivator didn't provide me with enough energy to use this technique very often, and I had used it twice. By the third time, I'd suffer from fatigue.

"I'm someone who is going to stop you from hunting heroes," I said, pretending to be righteous. Now that I had brought him to his knees, there was no use gaslighting him. There was only time to make sure that he didn't recover.

And so, I firmly clenched my hand around the metal pipe as I stood above the villain. I started hitting him repeatedly. His face turned so ugly that even the police wouldn't recognize him.

"You're… not," Stain said, not fainting from the repeated beating, "You're not going to stop me from clearing the society from fake heroes and unnecessary villains."

"By unnecessary villains, you mean yourself?" I asked, stopping beating him up.

"Are you an idiot? I just explained my role," he said, "That's a necessary evil."

"Imagine a little girl about to get crushed by a car, and she needs a strong hero to save her. Yet you killed that hero, and there was no one to do his job. What will you say to that little girl that got killed," I said as I squatted next to him. I weaved a series of hand signs slowly, lightning covering my palm.

"I'll tell you that she deserves a true hero," replied Stain, forcing me to express my disgust under my mask.

'Is he alright?' I wondered as I placed my lightning palm on his head. Waving a few hand signs with my other hand, I released the lightning palm jutsu, electrocuting Stain unconscious. I then grabbed a few tubes from my storage. I placed the tube on Stain's mouth, collecting the saliva.

Now, I wondered if I should kill him. Thinking about that idea, I felt disgusted, as if I were going to fix a rotten toilet with my bare hands. Also, I didn't want to test my consciousness.

I reached into Stain's pockets, and sure enough, the villain had a smartphone. I dialed the police. You may think, why didn't I use my phone and say that I found a villain unconscious in an abandoned spot, which would raise the question of why was I in a different city in the first place at this time of night?

Using Stain's phone, I called the cops and told them about the hero killer, before burning the phone with my aura. I then picked up the DNA of Stain and his saliva in tubes.

But just to make sure Stain wouldn't be able to do anything if he escaped, I stomped on his leg, breaking it.

Now, I could complete my deal with Orochimaru, but first, I needed to test something with Stain's saliva to avoid being scammed.
