Chapter 4

David POV

I had paid off the uber that had dropped me at the address I had told him about, then walked up to the gate and pressed the doorbell and the gatekeeper came out.

I quickly greeted him and introduced myself.

"Oh, come in," he told me with a smile and stepped aside for me. I walked in and glanced at a man staring at his phone far away beside the huge door of the house.

"Mr Jimmy over there will walk you in," the gatekeeper said. I nodded and walked up to the man.

"Good morning sir," I greeted when I walked up to the man.

"Good morning," he replied, sliding his phone into his pocket.

"You must be Mr Watson, I'm Jimmy Scott," he introduced, stretching out his hand for a shake with a smile. I shook his hand, recognizing his voice from our phone conversation. He was an average slender man who seemed to be in his middle forties.

"You're quite punctual," he complimented.

"It's expected for an interview," I said, not trying to show the effect of his compliment on me.

"Follow me in, Mr Draven is waiting for you." I didn't bother to ask who the man was but just followed him into the house.

Woo, man! I've never been to such an astonishing mansion before. I have only seen them on TV and in films. It was like heaven on earth.

I stopped behind him in the lounge and saw a man, Mr Draven, I suppose was sitting next to a woman on a unique couch, I could bet she was his wife.

"Good morning sir and ma'am," I greeted the both of them with a bow.

"Hello, you must be David?" He asked me.

" Yes sir," I replied.

"He's the first guy whose message I saw, so, per your instruction, I called him over," Mr Jimmy told him and he nodded.

"You've done well, Jimmy. You can leave now," he told him.

Mr Jimmy turned to me.

"Good luck, man," he muttered and left.

"So, David. I don't want to ask much. I just want to know a few things about you," he told me.

I cleared my throat to speak.

"I am David Watson, a graduate with an MBA," I said and glanced at the woman who flicked a stunned look at me.

"You're a graduate?" He asked and I nodded. He glanced at his wife and shook his head in astonishment.

"Then why do you want to take up a job as a personal driver? Won't that be below your standards?" He asked me.

"Not really, sir. I don't look down on any job, as far as it's not inhumane," I said, confidently. I heard footsteps emerge and resisted the urge to tilt my head and glance back because that might seem unethical to my future boss.

"Good morning sir, good morning ma," a feminine voice said, it sounded a bit familiar.

"Hello, Daisy, how're you today?" The woman asked her with a wide pleasant smile.

"I'm doing good, Mrs Draven."

"Oh, please don't call me that, Daisy," she said, waving her hands in dismissal.

"I've been telling you for a long time now to stop being formal with me. Just call me Joyce, Daisy."

Mr Draven laughed, causing his wife to cast him an annoying look.

"Why laughing, Lennon?" She requested with a frown.

"My dear wife just clocked fifty and she still thinks she's fifteen," Mr Draven told me, jokingly and his wife gasped before nudging him with her elbow.

"You're way annoying, Lennon," she groaned and I took the chance to glance back at the girl who giggled behind me. I felt like I've had a glimpse of her somewhere but I can't bring myself to start cracking my brain now.

"I guess you came to go over to college with your friend," he said, rolling his eyes to the girl. I presume her friend was his daughter.

"Yes sir."

"Well, unfortunately, I guess she's still sleeping," Mrs Draven interrupted and sighed.

"I can't believe she's still sleeping when it's past nine in the morning. I'll go wake her up."

"No honey," Mr Draven said, as he held her hand, stopping her. "Let my daughter sleep for a while."

His wife's face tightened and I could sense she was now peeved.

"You can go ahead to college first, Daisy. She would probably come later," he said to the girl.

"Okay. Have a nice day, sir," she said.

"And you too, sir," she said, turning to leave.

"Good morning Dad!" Another familiar feminine voice greeted loudly.

"Oh, she's up now? What a girl," Mrs Draven said and hissed.

Mr Draven asked me a question about when I first drove a car and I was about to answer him when I heard footsteps emerging.

"Dad, you woke up before me?" Just when the feminine voice asked, I slowly tilted my head to meet the angel I had bumped into yesterday.

Gosh, she was a few meters away from me and was in her pink nightwear. And her exotic breasts were showing behind the transparent nightwear.

Her nipples were poking out and just when her father, who was stunned too, stuttered, I looked away, trying my very best to comport myself. I could feel my body heat up just after having a brief stare at her and I was perspiring despite the lounge being airconed.

Her mother inquired while she was here looking disheveled.

"What did I do now? You…" she paused and probably becoming aware of my presence, she flicked a stare at me and her jaw dropped. Not wanting to make her feel awkward, I smiled.

Her friend hollered her name and rushed up to her before she could finish her statement then whispered something into her ears.

Something I didn't know.

I saw as her eyes widened and she glanced down at herself before crossing her arms on her chest, J could sense she was now obvious of her appearance and was cringed. She flicked a glance at me and I quickly returned my gaze to her father.

Excusing herself to help the boss's daughter, they both left upstairs, while I fixed my eyes to the ground, cowering away from Mr Draven's eyes that shot at me at intervals.

"That girl is so shameless," Mrs Draven muttered to her husband and jerked up.

"Don't scold her."

"Oh no I won't. I'm going to have something nice, which Rosey is preparing. I'm not going to feel irked by your silly princess this morning."

QWith that, Mrs Draven left.

"I'm sorry for my family's little morning drama," Mr Draven apologized unnecessarily.

"No sir. It's alright," I said, gentlemanly.

"Okay then, follow me," He said as he arose and I followed him outside.

He threw a key to me and motioned to the BMW.

I got into the car after he took his seat at the back of the car and started the car.

I took him on a fifteen minutes drive before returning back to the mansion per his order.

"You're a good driver, boy," he said as I got down from the car. I bowed as he walked up to me at the driver's seat door then he patted my back.

"I thought you would drive like those crazy young guys when jacked. I'm impressed by your driving skills."

"Thanks sir," I said feeling humbled.

I guess that was a plus one for me.

"You've got the job. You won't be doing much. You just have to be here by 9am and leave later by 6pm or sometimes earlier if I don't have anywhere to go. Fine by you?"

"Yes sir," I nodded, smiling.

His eyes rolled to the girl named Daisy, or whatever the name was.

"You guys are ready to go to college?" He asked, and she nodded, glancing above her shoulder with the corner of her eyes.

I darted my gaze to his daughter as she emerged, head hung, looking all ready.

She was clad in jeans and was putting on a jacket above a pink singlet. I guess pink was her favorite color, it's most girls' best colors actually.

Her outfit made her look prettier and her hair was tied up to a ponytail. She seems to be avoiding my gaze. I guess she's likely embarrassed, after all, I saw her looking a bit messy but still breathtaking in her lovely nightwear earlier and the image of her then was stored in my mind.

"We'll be leaving now, dad," she said and glanced at me, before grabbing her friend's arm.

"How are you girls going to get to college?"

"We'll take a bus or an uber dad," she said.

"Nah. You girls seem a bit late anyways. Going by car will be faster," he paused.

"Duncan already left for work quite early today. So…" he paused, turning to me. "Um, please hope you don't mind giving my daughter and her friend a drive to their college. Actually, Carissa's car broke down yesterday and I'm not comfortable with her going to school on public transport. We can call it your first job," he said.

Carissa, what a lovely name for an angel. Why would I possibly be reluctant to give an angel a drive? I'll be glad to do that. God didn't just grant my wish by letting me meet her again but he also gave me a job which will give me opportunities to see her and maybe get to have a chat with her someday.

And chatting with your new boss' pretty daughter, how was that appropriate? While the thought usually creeped on my skin, I refuted it. I guess there was nothing to think of as bad.

One thing was certain. I really needed to draw the line and focus on my new job before you get my ass gets kicked in less than a week, boy.

Yeah, I shouldn't start thinking of getting to talk to her now when I just got a job. I should be professional.

"I don't mind sir," I said, not showing any excitement.

"Okay," he said and motioned to them to get into the car. "He'll give you girls a drive to college."

"But…"

"It's good, dad," Carissa cut in on her friend and pulled her into the backseat of the car then I got in.

Time for the great drive, I thought. Smiling, I drove off.
