Chapter 102

Estella came along with two other maids to the last floor of the house where all the rooms are located, she came and saw Grace with Jane at the front of her door

"hey why are you bringing just two of them, we need to be fast" Grace said

"I can't bring more, your grandmother is coming today and we still have a lot to things to do" Estella interjected

"oh okay so let's get to it then, mom mustn't find out" Grace said

"so which room are we cleaning up?" Estella asked her

"I don't know just find out" Grace replied

"it took about fifteen minutes before Estella was able to arrive at a conclusion

"Grace there's only one room available" Estella told her

"what? just one I thought we have eight rooms in the house and there's only two available?" Grace was shocked

"well we have five vacant rooms at the moment your brother and grandmother are going to be occupying two, two are the extreme ends, the only close to Christopher's room is just that one" Estella pointed to a room almost close to Chris's room the room in between is that of Grace's room

Grace expression changed instantly, that room used to be Chris's room, that was the room where he had tried to kill himself five years ago, mom had the room locked ever since then she was not if he would or his parents will like the idea of opening it

she was confused, " I think we might have to ask Chris himself, we are going to have to wake him up, Jane please go get my brother" Grace said

Jane pupils dilated at the request that Grace had made, Chris is the last person she wanted to see right now especially now, she tried hard to think of an escape

"Jane move it, we have just about one hour before mom and dad wakes up" Grace scolded her

Jane immediately bent down, pretending to have a stomach upset "ouch ouch my tummy" she would rather die than face that man this morning

"Jane are you okay, what is the problem?" Grace inquired

"I have a stomach upset, can you have someone else get him?" Jane asked

"a stomach upset but you were fine just now" Grace was astonished

"yea but it just started now" Jane pretended to feel sick

"okay you get my brother to come here now" Grace said to one of the maids, but she hesitated, she had heard how ruthless he can be she didn't want to get on his bad side, she didn't want to get fired

Grace sensed her reluctance, she knew what was wrong already

"don't worry my brother doesn't bite, just tell him it's about Jane" Grace said and the maid left instantly

Chris was on the couch in his room he couldn't get much sleep either, he thought about Jane all through the night, he was patiently waiting for when she brings his coffee so they can talk, he was still in deep thought when he heard someone knock his door

he hissed because he was sure that was not Jane, he knew it if she was the one he didn't want to answer but the person persisted

"come in" he said irritated

the maid came in, she was almost trembling when she came in, she didn't dare to look into his eyes, she bowed her head waiting for his instruction

"speak" he said coldly

the maid trembled, his voice brought shivers down her spine

"madam Grace called for you sir" the maid spoke

Chris raised his head it was just past six ' why would Grace be calling for him by this time this little sister of his was really something else

"go I will be there soon" Chris said and the maid left immediately, she couldn't stand being around him for a little more time, she wondered how Jane works around him

"where's my brother?" Grace asked him leaning on the door, she was already feeling so tired, Jane still squatted on the floor pretending to be sick

"he said he will be here soon" the maid said and went to stay close to Estella, she was still terrified

Chris emerged, he saw all of them standing in the hall and wondered what was going on, he saw Jane squatting and he immediately got worried

he moved closer to Jane and squatted close to her

"are you okay?" Chris asked worriedly, he was oblivious to his surrounding he held her by the waist and the scene looked intimate

Jane who was not expecting Chris to just show up beside her was stunned, she looked up at the man close to her, their eyes locked and the seems to stop at that moment

Jane quickly snapped back to reality and she quickly stood up

"I'm fine sir, I just felt pale for a while but I'm okay" Jane said blushing effortlessly, she tried to hide it but she just couldn't, she was so obvious, she hid her face to the side to stop them from seeing her face

Chris noticed her face was as red as a tomato and he almost laughed out, he decided to save her from the embarrassment, cause all eyes were already on her with questioning gaze

"you called for me Grace what is it?" Chris asked

everyone focused their attention on him

"we are trying to set up a room for Jane and little Chris but we the rooms available are on the extreme ends" Grace explained

"what about the one opposite my room?" Chris asked

"that's Kyle's room and grandma will be taking that one when she comes, if we give it to Jane mom will make a fuss out of it" Grace explained

Chris saw reason with what she said and he nodded slightly after thinking about it for a while

"so what's the way forward now?" he asked

Grace hesitated for a while but she had to say it

"it's either they take one of the rooms at the extreme end of the hall or the one right here" Grace said pointing to Chris's former room
