Zain's point of view….
I have been thinking, keeping Susan's body wouldn't be the best thing so I think I should bury her as soon as possible to give her the rest she deserves.
Dawning my last drink, I took my keys and walked towards Jenny's room. I had let her be because I understand what she is going through.
Cracking her door open, I saw her lying on her bed curled up in a ball.
Ot is obvious she is sleeping,I got in and closed the door then walked over to her on the bed .
I gently put a hand on her shoulder.
"Jenny, wake up." I tried waking her up but she did not respond.
"waky Blockhead" I called out, shaking her shoulder lightly.
"I've told you to stop calling me that!"
She said, sitting up from her position.
I smiled,
"Will you be fine while I am away?"
I asked.
She smiled back at me before saying
"I'll get used to it"
Sighing, I hugged her and she returned my hug
"Please take care of yourself, and keep in touch,
She nodded.
"you will as well"
She said,
I kissed her forehead before exiting her room.
It was time for me to go,taking one more glance back at the house, I made my way to my car, starting it up.
I got to the hospital in less than fifteen minutes and parked my car.
I walked into white Wing and the buzz was excess. People get sick and die, some get sick and live. It's what life is all about.
I had only one place in mind and that's Dr Emmanuel 's office. Since he is the doctor in charge of Susan.
I knocked at his door and his deep voice invited me in. I went in and closed the door behind me. I turned around to face him.
He had his glasses off,his eyes slightly red like he has been crying recently and his hands held together tightly. He was wearing a lab coat.
He looked me in the eye.
"Zain, what can I do for you?"
He asked with his usual tone.
"I want to take my wife to a funeral home to prepare her for burial."
I stated my reasons without hesitation. I saw the slight look of surprise in his eyes. The expression didn't stay long though because he composed himself again quickly.
"why suddenly?"
He asked looking directly at me. He had an inquisitive look in his eyes.
"Because she deserves it."
I replied trying to maintain the composure of the situation.
He nodded slowly, "Ok, but we can arrange for her to be buried here. Why don't you use the hospital funeral home?. It would be a lot easier and faster"
I thought for a while then looked up at him.
"Then make it happen, I will be here by five to get her"
I said then turn my back to leave his office when his voice stopped me,
"I am sorry for everything?" He spoke quietly. It sounded sincere.
"it's ok" I replied turning around. I was surprised to see tears threatening to fall from his eyes.
"You must miss her"
He whispered.
"Yeah"
I whispered back, staring straight ahead. My face felt hot,the emotions were just too much.
He stood up and walked to me. He stood in front of me for a few seconds before pulling me into a hug.
"This time will pass"
He whispered into my ear.
I couldn't answer. My voice was caught in my throat,I couldn't say anything. So instead, I hugged him back.
After a moment of silence, I pulled away "Thank you doctor." I bowed my head.
"Hope Claire is okay, you need to get a nurse for her to take care of her."
I was tempted to tell him that I lost her but I kept my cool.
"Alright, I will do that"
I said and walked out of his office blocking every activity happening around me. it was like I was floating in the air. My mind was blank. All the thoughts I had pushed aside, they are now being taken over by the grief I feel.
My phone vibrated fromy pocket and I halted in my tracks.
I picked it without checking who is on the call,
"Zain, we are coming over to your house right away"
I heard Ethan's voice and the call went off.
I sighed, only then did I realize I was standing in front of my car.
I got in and drove away.
