Writer’s point of view…..
It was nine in the morning and Francis and Owen were on their way to the hospital where his girlfriend is admitted into. He really has to see how she is recovering. Though the doctor in charge of her case had assured him of the girl’s quick recovery, he is not sure until he sees her.
Funny how the heart works, Mercy is someone he just met and helped on the condition that she would be his girlfriend and everyone is calling him her boyfriend already.
How will she react waking up and knowing she has a boyfriend? not that it will matter regarding that Francis is a charming young man.
When Francis gave his condition to help the Kingston family, Mercy was not aware of it. Mrs King had pleaded with the husband for Mercy not to be told until she survives the operation.
"Are we not there yet?"
Owen groaned and stared at Francis as he took a turn by the left.
The road was quiet busy. It's just looked like all the habitat of White Hill are out today. It was just morning and it looks so busy.
"Sorry, we have to drive for more five minutes before we get there"
Owen nodded and put his head back on the headrest and closed his eyes.
He can't understand why this new found friend of his would want him to go to the hospital to see his sick girlfriend.
"People really don't think before they act, do they?"
He thought, sighing.
An eternity later, according to Owen, Francis drove in to the Crystal Hospital, one of the best hospitals in White Hill and parked after getting a space.
Since he was the one in charge of Mercy's medical bills, he had made sure she was admitted into the best hospital.
Owen sighed when he remembered that a day after yesterday, he was in the hospital because of his sister's in law and wondered how she is coping with Zain and the situation plus the baby.
"I really need to call home,it's not unfair that I had to abodaon her like that. We both sinned and we should bear the consequences together." He stated and sighed again "I just realize that I can't stop thinking about you Susan, I think I have fallen for you."
Francis nulged him on the shoulders,"let's go man"
Owen recovered and followed him into the hospital.
Getting to the lobby, they met Dr Matthew and one other Doctor that looked quiet familiar to Owen. Owen can't place his hands where he knew the doctor from but he can swear he knows him.
He couldn't just remember the name though.
Dr Matthew was talking to the doctor, and then, he turned around and smiled when he noticed them "Francis, you finally arrived, I see you brought a friend?"
"Yeah, He is town and I want to show him around."
Francis responded, looking at Owen.
Owen smiled at him then focused on the other Doctor.
"This is a very good doctor friend of mine, Dr Frank, he is from Reben Castle but he is here just to visit me and as a Doctor he is, he is helping out.
The moment Dr Matthew mentioned Reben Castle, Owen's hairs stood up. He felt a hitch towards the doctor, " how can he be visiting and still be on his uniform" Owen wondered.
"Well, nice to meet you, Mr.."
"The name is just Owen, thank you"
Owen took the words out of his mouth and took the outstretched hand of the Doctor.
After Dr Matthew, came Dr Frank, " I am Dr Frank from White Wing hospital. It's nice to meet you"
He greeted Owen and did the same to Francis.
Dr Frank mentioning white Wing gave the answers Owen was looking for. " off course he is one of the doctors at white Wing, I have seen him couples of time. He was there yesterday for Susan." He wanted to say something about Susan being at white Wing but something stopped him, he instead continued to observe.
"Welcome to White Hill, Mr Owen"
Dr Matthew said facing Owen " You know, life is too short to stay at a place, make sure to enjoy your stay here" He chuckled.
"I will like to see you in my office later, Mr Weslborne but right now, you can go see Mercy"
He said, looking at Francis and left with his Doctor friend leaving Francis and Owen alone.
Francis cleared his throat and said " Let's go" And both headed to the lift.
As soon as the lift door opened, they walked in silence towards the executive ward.
Francis opened the door noiselessly and walked in with Owen
Mercy was lying on her bed. The machines around her were showing some activity indicating that she is improving.
Francis looked around and found both her parents at the end of the room. They were sitting on the bed holding each other's hands with a glisten of hope in their eyes. Francis was glad that he did something humanity will be proud of.
