"Oh my God! Susan is that really you?"
Vivian made a rush to hug her and she vanished the next minute. Vivian halted and realized that what she just saw is a mirage.
"That means you my friend is gone?"
Vivian broke into fresh tears and sank down on her knees. She covered her face with both hands and cried,
"I am so sorry Susan"
Vivian could not stop herself from weeping.
"Who is she going to call her best friend, who would joke and taunt her about being a nun because she has refused to get into a relationship. Susan 's death is a big blow to her,
Suddenly she has lost what life is all about. Vivian is one of the few people who would die in place of others. As she cry, she wished she had died instead of Susan . At least Susan would be with her baby right now.
she sobbed for minutes and it took her a while before she could compose herself. She wiped away her tears with her hand and got up. She went inside her bedroom and looked around anxiously.
Vivian's breath hitched when she smelt the air around and found out that someone has been in the room and the fragrance is not mistaken, it is Susan's own.
"Was she here?"
Vivian asked still looking around.
"Vivy?"
"Vivian froze in midair and slowly turned,
Susan stood looking more ghostly this time around. her skin pale and white frost all over her body. her once perfect lips looked like they were chipped off and her hair was disheveled.
Vivian gasped and stumbled back as if pushed by some invisible force. she closed her eyes shut and shook head vigorously,
"I am sorry my friend, I have to go. Don't forget to find Claire and keep herself safe "
Was all Vivian heard and when she opened her eyes, Susan was gone like the wind.
Vivian's hands trembled violently and she fell on to her knees sobbing again. The tears just wouldn't stop streaming down her face until it hurts. she clutched at her hair and screamed with pain.
She was exhausted from the previous cry, yet she could not stop herself from crying.
She needed someone to tell her that Susan was dead but right now, all evidence shows she is dead. She is not hallucinating.
This is the reality that she doesn't wants to believe. But why did this feel so much worse than any nightmares she has before?
She tried taking deep breaths as she wiped the tears from her eyes, she took a seat on her bed and sighed heavily.
"Find Claire and keep herself safe!".
The word echoed and Vivian shivered,
"Is the baby in any sort of danger?"
She wondered and stood up immediately,
"Where should I go? White Wing or Mr Zidat 's house?"
She asked herself confused and paced around for a while. She stopped suddenly and grabbed her bag from beside the bed and went out of her room.
She concluded where to go first and that's the hospital on her way out of the apartment.
She jammed the door closed and there stood behind her, David. Vivian cursed.
She did not have the slightest strength to deal with him right now.
He smiled sweetly at her,
"Hello Ms Parker!"
He greeted cheerfully.
Vivian nodded at his greeting and made to walk past him,
"Where are you going?" He questioned
she hesitated for half a second.
"I'm heading to the hospital for an appointment."
"Are you alright?"
He asked concerned.
She rolled her eyes and said in a monotone
"Oh I am fine. Just go away."
And with that she tried shrugging herself off his grip but he won't let her.
This is the closest he has gotten to Vivian and he was not going to miss an opportunity of talking to her.
"You're sick, aren't you?" He asked curiously
Her eyebrow twitched slightly.
She said nothing and instead pulled herself free and began walking again
"Bye David?"
Vivian murmured tiredly. The last person she would want to bug her right now is him. She is exhausted already so she doesn't need any more stress.
