1 Genevieve Rodríguez

Genevieve Rodríguez tossed her car key to the valet who caught it right on time, he bowed slightly at her while she turned her back towards him and walked into the club.

Her fingers ran down her suit to the edge which she tugged gently, straightening her suit. Genevieve got all eyes staring at her direction though they tried their best to keep her name out of their mouths and conversations but they couldn't help but whisper and gawk at her.

Genevieve Rodríguez was a known patron at the midnight club, she took her usual seat and crossed her legs awaiting the show of the night.

I squeezed my body into the leathery sofa in anticipation of the strippers. I wasn't a woman to drink or dance my sorrows away at a club but rather I came for the amusement of women who assumed it took just the body to get into the heart of men and lesbians like myself.

The sound of heels were heard from behind us. I sat put without turning to gawk as the lady approached, unlike my fellow patrons whose bottom lips had fallen to the ground at the sight of the mysterious woman.

I inhaled the fragrance of freshly plucked roses and a hint of lavender. The lady who had turned them all on finally came to sight. She mounted at the pole and I could tell she was still new from the way they all stared at her lustfully.

From their gaze I could tell all they wanted was a taste of her and nothing more.

The music came on and she began her seductive movements, I felt something new and strange that I couldn't place my hand on.

After a few minutes on the stage, she crawled towards me, she danced and caressed my face and neck in desperation to get my attention.

Unknowing to me a smirk grew on me, I felt my heart drop when she kissed my cheek and then disappeared into the darkness.

They all began to cheer in excitement, I quickly rose from my seat and walked out of the clubhouse.

I turned to see the eyes of the manager on me. I raised my hand in the air and moved my fingers slightly to indicate I needed to have a conversation with him.

His eyebrows rose in confusion and fright, he moved quickly, making his way through the crowd while I strolled down the parking lot down to where my car was. I turned on my phone. After a few months of trying to get over the heartbreak of losing my girlfriend to the birth of our child, I stared at my screen display and tears ran down my eyes.

I unlocked my car and sat behind the steering wheel.

I could feel his presence despite me not laying my eyes on him.

"Get in," I spoke.

"Yes sir?." He said after closing the door and abjusting himself on my car seat.

"Excuse me?."

"Sorry Ma'am." He stuttered.

I rolled my eyes. "The new stripper…, keep her in town." I ordered him and he nodded.

There was something about her, something I needed to know. She has awakened a part of me that I had caged for a year.

"That's all I need." I gave him a stern look when he didn't leave my car after our conversation.

He quickly jumped in his seat after realising he had overstayed his welcome and that our conversation had long ended.

"And!." I recalled a question I should have asked from the very beginning of my conversation with the manager.

He paused waiting for me to speak.

"What's her sexuality?." I asked him.

He took a step back, he bit his lips and stared at me. His scattered eyebrows gave him away and so did his act of biting his lips nervously.

"Find out and get back to me. Make sure she stays in town." I ordered. "UNTOUCHED!." I emphasised.

——

"I love you." I mutter the words to myself in her memory.

Who was this stripper? How could she make me feel such way?.

I sighed and turned on my car when I got a call from the office.

"Hello ma'am?." The tone sounded somewhat shaky and uneven.

I took a deep breath knowing I would have to face whatever situation it was all by myself.

"What's wrong?." I asked him.

"Your meeting with the Australian brand was actually scheduled for the fifth of October not November." He replied in a worried and scared tone.

It was always two steps forward and a million steps backwards with Michael as my assistant. I pinched my nose and shook my head in disappointment.

"It's October 7th Michael and the deal has been signed." I ended the call.

I retired back to my house, I laid back on my bed fully clothed with the memory of the stripper replaying in my head repeatedly. I took deep breaths trying to calm myself.

I had a quick shower and got dressed.

——

"Damita." The man on the other end of my cellphone said.

"Where would the pick up be carried out?." I asked him.

He chuckled for a few minutes and I let him go in for as long as he pleased. "Come home Damita."
