"Happy birthday!" Chloe shouts in my ear.

I grunt and shift away from her.

I'm sure it's not even seven in the morning yet and she's wishing me a happy birthday.

Wait!

My eyes flies wide open.

Happy birthday?

I sit up immediately.

"Happy birthday!" She says again with her hands spread out and a big smile on her face.

"Birthday?" I mutter. "Today's my birthday?" I ask her and she puts her hands down.

"Today's 23rd of march dummy. It's your birthday."

"My birthday?"

"Yeah." She gets off my bed. "You're finally eighteen."

"It's my birthday?" I whisper again to myself.

"And I wanted to be the first to wish you a happy birthday. But it seems you don't even remember your own birthday." She sits on the bed.

"It's my birthday?" I ask again to myself.

"I got you a little something." She continues, completely ignoring my state of shock.

She shifts to me and hands me a small gift bag.
