Hunting Quest!

We moved around and Firuza went in few shops to get her things. As for me, I was just sightseeing. After that, we went to the tavern. We had our dinner and slept. Next day, we departed from the town after our breakfast.

Firuza " So, are we going to a town or city?"

Usman " We are going to the town called Warm Nest. A place famous for its taverns in the south."

Firuza" So, that's why you are that much obsessed with living in a good tavern." She said with a teasing smile.

Usman" It's one of the reasons, I always look for a good tavern." I said scratching my left cheek.

Firuza" Hehehe! It's a good thing, you have something similar to youngster." She said with a light laugh.

I smiled too.

Firuza " Who is in-charge there?"

Usman " Viscount Earl Raibyr, a 300 year old elf." I said reading the map review.

Firuza" How long will it take to reach there?" She asked walking on the uneven route.

Usman " By foot, it would take three days. We will reach there on third evening." I said using the map.

The following three days were rather peaceful. In which, we camped during night and walked in the day. I even hunt some wild animals for food.

On the evening of our third day of travel, we were able to see the stone walls of the Warm Nest. When we reached closer.

Southern guard " Halt!" Said a tanned woman.

When we stopped.

Guard" State your business, here!" She said displaying her sword.

Usman" We are to assist against alliance. I, even, have a letter from Viscountess Fae to deliver here." I said flashing the letter.

Guards looked at me then the letter. Then, she sent someone from the guards, an elf. He took the letter. After seeing that the seal was correct. He returned to me and went back to them. After telling them something.

Guard" Alright, you may proceed! Entrance is five sp each."

Before I paid them, I heard Firuza yelped.

Firuza " Good Lord! I only have 3 from what I brought with me!" She said checking her bag.

Usman" It's okay. I will pay for us." I said putting my right hand in my mini bag.

Firuza " Dear Lord! I can't!" She said worriedly.

Usman" You are helping south. Consider it my thanks." I said reassuring her.

Firuza" Okay..." She said looking down.

I take out hundred cp in a small sack and gave it to the guards. When she took it, she passed away to her fellow guard. Then, he began counting.

Usman " Where is the reagent's office?" I asked the female guard.

Guard" It's in the north east side, near the guards office." She said in a rough tone.

We went in and moved towards the centre. According to the map, the city was almost a square. It was consists of eight big streets and four main roads. When, we reached near the second Street. We went in and moved towards the reagent's office. There were a lot of masonry and smiths shops. Walking ahead, we soon reached our destination.

It was a wooden building. We knocked the door and a guard came out.

An Elven guard came out.

Guard " Yes."

Usman " We are here to get our visa."

Guard" I see. Come in."

He stepped aside. We went in and knocked the door at the end.

???" Come in."

A female voice came out. I opened the door and we went inside. A female long black haired curvy elf with spectacles was sitting on a chair across a table. She was writing something with a feather pen in a book made of skins. She put her pen in its holder and looked towards us. According to map, her name was Jacinta. She was in her early 200s.

Jacinta " Yes."

Usman " I am Usman, a southern mercenary. I am being sent for help Against the ALLIANCE! I also have a letter from Viscountess Fae to deliver." I said taking out the letter.

Her eyes widened a little. Then, she raised her right hand for the letter. I gave our documents with the letter. When she was reading the letter, her eyes widened. She looked at me with look of surprise. Then, she read our documents with shaking hands. After she put them down, she heavily sighed.

Jacinta " I can't believe it.... even though, everything is being testified. What do you want from me?" She looked at me with dull eyes.

Usman" Just the location of your best tavern. Even though there are many." I said thinking about visiting others later.

Jacinta " Pardon?" She said with not believing what she heard.

Firuza " Hehehe. Sorry but that's how he is. It's also due to fame of your taverns."

Jacinta" Really?" She asked again.

I nodded. She sighed again.

Jacinta " Then, go to Hypnotic Scream. It's our best tavern. It's near our office."

Usman" Then, how much for the visa for both of us?"

Jacinta " An enchanting bag with a sack too or are there more?" She asked me taking out the coins.

She sighed.

Jacinta" Alright, you may go."

We went out and moved towards the tavern's direction. Soon, we reached there. It was a three floor establishment. I moved forward and opened the door. Inside it was full of people drinking and eating. Some of them, were elves and some were southern guards. In the south east, there were stairs leading upwards. In South, there was a bar.

In the south west, there was the kitchen, from which waitresses were coming and going. We went to an empty table and sat on chairs. After that I called a waitress for our meal.

Jacinta P.O.V.

Recently, alliance had became a thorn for us. It was targeting all settlements in the south. Elders were really anxious about that. Today, I was doing my routine chores. When a boy with a Fair woman and a unknown beast arrived at my office. They were looking for a weekly visa. So, he gave me their documents but with a letter from Viscountess Fae!

At the beginning, I thought of them reinforcements sent by a fellow noble but when I read the letter. My mind was going numb. The woman was a DRUID! SHE WAS A MYTHICAL CLASS HOLDER! IT WAS GOING TO BE A GAME CHANGER! But when I read it further, I wasn't going to believe it if it didn't have Viscountess Fae seal!

It had the information about what had happened there. But most, mind boggling was the BOY! HE WAS A GUARDIAN! A CLASS ONLY POSSESSED BY A SINGLE MAGIC WARRIOR!! AND IT ONLY APPEARS IN A TIME OF DESPAIR!!!

Haaah~

The beast, Growlithe was a guardian of forests which made a pact with the boy. I need to inform Lord Raibyr.

After our dinner, I paid for our weekly stay in the tavern. Then, we went to sleep. Next day, went out to look around. It was a good town but like all places, it has its own darkness. The slums. Later, we went back.

As I was informed about druid and her companion Guardian and his pact. I was paying attention to his moves. Considering what Fae have written, I want to know about his behaviour too. I can't trust anyone after my fair share of betrayals. But he was just doing recon all day. I think, I had an idea.

Usman P.O.V.

On our third day, we were having our breakfast downstairs. After which I was wondering to a walk around and maybe talk to some people around. At that time, an old long black haired skinny Elven woman arrived in the tavern. She was wearing some well crafted clothes. Why was that because those had some extraordinary materials.

Usman ' Status!'

Usman ' A merchant? Well, merchants are wealthy. Considering their merchandise, wearing such clothes is pretty obvious.'

When, I was thinking that she was looking around. Then, her eyes stopped at us. A smile formed on her elegant lips. She walked gracefully towards us. Her back was straight like a rod. She had some ornaments in the shape of leaves in her hair on the right side. She came to us.

Sabae" Excuse me. Do you mind if I sit here?" She said with elegance.

Usman" Sure, we don't mind." I said looking at Firuza and Growlithe.

Firuza nodded and Growlithe was calmed. Seeing that she sat on a chair.

Sabae" If you don't mind, are you the mercenary Usman?" She asked me.

Usman ' Hmm.'

Usman" Yes, I am but how do you know me? It is first time that I come here."

Sabae" Well, you see. Jacinta and me are friends. " She said with a glint in her eyes.

Firuza ' D..did she ex.. expose his class to her?!'

Usman " So. What do you want? Why are you here?" I said straighten up.

Sabae" Oh! Don't worry. Your secret is safe with me. " She said trying to assure me.

Firuza" Then, what are you doing here?" She said with a frown.

Sabae" Oh my! Lady druid, I have come with peace. " She said putting her hand in front of her mouth.

Firuza ' She surely knows how to talk.'

She turned towards me.

Sabae" You see, I am a merchant who deals in leather merchandise. Recently, I have a high demand for a certain leather clothing. But my stock is almost empty." She said sadly.

Sabae" The party, who is responsible for bringing my materials is currently absent. Then, I heard about your arrival on a dinner with my friend. " She said with a smile.

I sighed.

Usman" So, you are giving me a quest to bring those materials. Can't you bring up that straight?" I asked.

Sabae" Well, I want to see you before. Besides I have some conditions." She said lifting her chin.

Usman" Which are?" I said raising my brow.

She smiled.

Sabae" First, you have to bring back ten golden deers skins without spoiling them. Second, my men including a butcher and a cart driver with be with you. Third, you have to complete this quest in a day before evening. Forth and most importantly, you are not allowed to bring either lady druid or your pact." She said with a smile.

Firuza" You think..."

Usman " IT is okay. I accept."

Growlithe" Woof!"

I caressed his fur.

Usman " It's okay."

Sabae " So, do you accept this quest?" She asked.

Usman" Yes."

She stood up.

Sabae" Very well, go to the northern gates in an hour. My men will be there. They will take you to the forest. They will be your responsibility." She said with an authority.

Usman" I will be there and rest assured. They will come safe."

Sabae" Then, good day."

After a slight bow, she walked out of the tavern.

Quest: Collect ten golden deers skins and bring back with team assigned before evening.

Penalty: Fine and disgrace.

Firuza" Why did you accept this quest alone?" She said with a frown.

Usman" I did come to North on my first quest, remember."

Firuza" I know but..."

Usman" It's okay. I am stronger and skilled than before. Plus, I was looking for such job for a while."

She sighed.

Firuza" Okay. But be alert." She advised.

Usman " I will. " I said standing up.

I sat near Growlithe and caressed his fur.

Usman " Look after her, okay."

Growlithe " Woof!"

I stood up.

Usman" Stay in your room. I will be back at dinner time."

I went out and moved towards the northern gates. In half an hour, I reached the gates. I stood beside the wall. After few minutes, two southern adults with a cart arrived. Both has trimmed shaves, one was holding the harness of the horse. Second had a bag and was sitting in the cart. They stopped in front of the gates. I walked to them. Seeing me coming...

???" Hmm, are you the one who is going to escort us and hunt?" Said the guy with reins.

Usman" Yes. I am Usman."

???" I am Labac and he is Rad, our butcher." Said the guy with reins.

I nodded to him.

Rad" Hmpf!"

Usman ' Great, finally a guy like him!'

I got on the cart and sat across Rad. Then, Labac pulled the reins and we departed.
