Chimeras

It was roughly 3 in the afternoon now. Honoka was preparing a large meal for Hikari and I to celebrate, but she said she would have to head off to work after eating. I knew what was going to happen, so I asked if I could go along, to which she eagerly agreed.

Karin and Haku were talking about something, every so often they would steal glances at me, but I scoffed it off as childhood crushes.

Jugo was helping Honoka with cooking, as he realized that he was the only one who couldn't cook out of our group, and didn't want to be left behind.

Hikari had disappeared into the bathroom. Probably to double-check all of her body, to see if all of the marks were really gone.

After a traditional Japanese meal of fish, rice, miso, and mixed vegetables, Honoka pulled me to the side as she prepared to go to the summoning location. She had been giving me glances ever since her sister healed, but I'm 100% sure that they weren't because of romantic feelings like with Karin and Haku. These were glances of wondering who I could possibly be to have such an amazing item, being only a child.

We both used this opportunity to ask each other many questions, most of mine were related to summoning, but hers were related to who I was, and why I would help a stranger by wasting such a valuable item.

"I'm not going to lie to you. I have a large amount of those beans, and they can restore chakra and heal injuries. But I have a limited supply of them." I said as I lied through my teeth. I wanted the others to know that I possessed the item because it would be suspicious if they saw me healing myself after my injuries in the future, so I said I got them from the Kaguya Clan storage, and told her that they were their most prized and secret treasure.

As we approached the secret entrance to the volcano lab, a researcher stopped us and asked who I was.

"My good sir, I am the son of a wealthy ninja who would like to purchase your most powerful summoning creature!" I said, putting on a snobbish accent. I could tell that Honoka was about to burst into laughter and was trying her best to contain herself. It's a good thing the researcher didn't look at her, as he was inspecting me.

I reached into my bag and pulled out some gold bullion from the Kaguya Clan's treasure vault. His eyes cartoonishly became Ryo signs as he led me into the room, taking Honoka and myself into the main chambers.

On my way, I saw a vat with the Ultimate Summoning Creature's chrysalis inside of it. I was led past it to another large room with hundreds of seals on chakra paper tied around a single ball with a strange design on it. Honoka waved goodbye as I made my way into the next room.

The head researcher, a man with greasy long blonde hair and dark eyes approached me. He was a fat old man, whose entire being screamed 'money-grubbing bottom feeder'.

"Good day young master! How may this one help such a predominant and wealthy person such as yourself today?" She said, rubbing his hands together in the anime 'money-grubbing' way.

'What is this massive cliche troupe. I know this is an anime world, but how can they be so obvious' "Greetings. I suppose you are the director and head researcher of this institute correct? I say, feigning ignorance.

"Oh! How intelligent you are young master! My name is Don'yoku. How may I be of service?"

"I am here for your most powerful summoning beast! My master wishes to remove a thorn in his side in the Land of Waves, but shinobi have become increasingly active in the area. Do you have something to help with that?" I ask.

"The young master has such excellent timing, for today, we will be finishing up progress on such a creature. A chimera most powerful! If that doesn't interest you, we also have two other Chimera, ready and waiting for other customers to purchase.

'Two others? Perhaps they were taken away after the experiment was over.' "Excellent, I shall take a look at the other two while the third is being readied" I say. We begin walking towards the ball surrounded by seals, as he begins to explain, in science-speak, about how they had created a new form of space-time technique to create this creature.

"We call it the Nue! It will be a powerful and immortal creature once the process of marking the body is complete. All one has to do is to touch the sphere and pass chakra into it, and the Nue's home dimension will be tied to the user and they can begin collecting chakra to form te summoning" He explained.

"Interesting. How much for such a specimen?" I asked. Internally, I was shocked. What remained of Danzo's ROOT had this summon during the Boruto era. How did they get it?

"Well such a creature is worth more than its weight in gold, but due to the amount of work your employer will have to put into collecting the chakra to summon it, I would say 15,000,000 Ryo." He said.

"Such a price is indeed high but if it is as powerful as you say, then it will not disappoint. Perhaps if I buy all three Chimera, you can throw in something extra. Know that my employer is a member of the Fire Daimyo's court, and so money is of no issue" I say, as I take out more gold bullion. This is a lie. 15,000,000 Ryo is a lot of money, nearly a quarter of my total amount, though I still want to get my hands on all of the chimeras.

I give him the money and he places the sphere in a suitcase before handing it to me. I can see him snickering to himself as he looks at the gold.

"Of course sir! Now onto the second summon! Its name is Baku. We modeled it after the Baku of legend and it is just as capable as the Nue, though it doesn't require nearly as much setup!" Don'yoku said, putting on his cheesiest face yet.

'Baku was Danzo's summoning beast. How is this possible?' I thought as I was led into another large room. Baku was sitting in a large enclosure, pulling a boulder the size of a three-story house with chains. I thought that they might have had him putting on a show for me, as Baku was very clearly not struggling to pull this weight. It was obvious that it was little more than a show for those uneducated at how strong summoning beasts can get, but nonetheless, I pretended to be very impressed.

"I shall take this one as well!" I say. I really did want this one. If Baku wasn't with Danzo, then he would be weaker, if only by a little. I wanted to jump on the chance to screw over Danzo as much as possible.

"This one is quite cheaper than the others, and we can prepare a space-time seal similar to that of the Nue for you if you wish. Though it will cost a little extra". Don'yoku said. For a brief moment, his face shifted to one of scorn, though I didn't react and pretended not to see it.

'It seems this person is working for Danzo and doesn't want me to purchase these. It would make sense as to how ROOT got both Nue and Baku. Though it seems this guy wants to maximize his personal profit as well' I thought. "Very well. Taking care of such a large and powerful beast is sure to put a drain on even my employer's resources, so I ask you to perform this immediately".

"Absolutely! You there!" he yelled to one of the researchers "prepare a space-time seal for Baku! The young master will be purchasing it as well."

The researcher began placing seals, while I pulled out more bullion and gave it to him. After a few minutes, another sphere was added to the suitcase I held. Strangely, the suitcase had enough room for three such spheres in its cut-out. It seems they are planning to kill me after taking all of my money, seal the Ultimate Summoning Beast, and deliver all three to Danzo.

Another researcher came up to us and looked over towards Don'yoku for a brief moment and said "Sir Don'yoku! We are ready to begin binding the Ultimate Summoning Beast".

"Fantastic. Come, young master! You must be dying to see our masterpiece", he said with a sinister smile.

'This guy doesn't know just how obvious he is. He must be a third-party contractor because no ROOT operative would be this oblivious.' "Yes! I am very curious and excited about the prospect! I may be buying all three after all" I say.

We make our way back to the main chamber where Honoka has prepared many seals to begin binding the summon to the contract marking. I walk over to Honoka's side, just outside of the sealing circuit Honoka had made, as Don'yoku attempts to sneak off.

Just as Honoka says she is ready to begin, I see Don'yoku pull a switch on the wall and Ryoshi falls from a trap door in the ceiling. Landing right on top of the beast.

"Gyaaahhhhhhh!!!!" He screams as he is absorbed into the mass of flesh.

"No! If the creature gets a taste of human flesh before it's bound it'll go on a rampage!" Said, one researcher.

'Thanks for the exposition guy' I think. 'So this is how the creature rampages for the first time. Don'yoku must have betrayed everyone and took both Baku and the Nue to Danzo and left them to die.'

As the Ultimate Summoning Beast begins its rampage, wrapping up the researchers in its tentacles and consuming them, I stand guard in front of Honoka, as she begins to panic.

"What should we do!?" She asks.

"Calm down. Finish your seal. I will distract it!" I say as I wave the rat hand sign.

"[Water Release: Water Bullet Jutsu]"

As a massive wave of water hits the creature, it begins to roar in anger. It hasn't transformed yet, so it can't absorb chakra. That's what I learned with this.

I began running on the walls as I threw a [Flying Thunder God] marked kunai towards Honoka's feet. She looks at it for a brief moment before she gets back to casting her seal. I run along the walls and activate my Byakugan, seeing that Don'yoku is on the other side of this wall, reaching for a safe at the opposite end of the room.

I stand still as four tentacles burst forwards. I activate [Flying Thunder God] and teleport away at the last second. The tentacles hit the wall, go through it, and grab Don'yoku, who begins screaming in terror as he flails about. It's a good thing that he flails wildly because all of my gold bullion falls out of his coat onto the ground, so I can collect it later.

Honoka finally finishes her technique and golden chains made of fuinjutsu spring forward and begin binding the creature. It roars in disgust and pain as it is pulled to the ground.

"Honoka-san! What are you going to seal it into?" I ask

"I can suppress it so that it can be summoned like the other chimera, but to tame it will be much harder." She said.

"Do it. Even if taming it is impossible, at least we can be sure that it will never be brought into the wrong hands" I say. I want this thing. Once it hatches from its chrysalis, it is a truly formidable creature, and if I can tame it, along with the Nue and Baku, then I will have multiple summons able to contend with the likes of the Frogs of Mt. Myuboku or the Serpents of Ryuichi Cave.

"Yes!" She says as more and more chains surround it before it is entombed in a large ball of fuinjutsu chains. The chains then begin to compress themselves until the ball is slightly larger than a softball.

I open up my suitcase and place it alongside the other two chimera summon spheres. I create multiple bone clones and have them search the research center for survivors and for my money. No way am I leaving here more broke than when I left.

I will even take care of Mr. Ryoshi's boat. I definitely won't be stealing it. No. He would have waned me to make use of it. Definitely.

I help up Honoka and she looks at me funny. She is still sweating from the intensity of what has just happened, but she is otherwise completely unharmed.

"You know, for a seven-year-old, your way too strong" She says.

"Haha....."
