You could even make it so that the way he resolves it give Philip leverage over the Notos branch and allows him to bring back his sons, thus endearing the whole branch family to Rudeus and making him the heir.

There should definitely be some 'leaks' about thr MCs abilities and rumors about him being a Miko. Perhaps Ariel is sent to Roa for 'and inspection', but the royal family is actually trying to both verify the rumors of a Miko and chain him to Ariel as her lover, as she wasn't seen as a viable political choice for ruler yet. He'll, you could even make it where they plan to create a national incident which they blame on him and then use it as an excuse to separate Rudeus from his parents and become the ward of a noble in one of the factions
