Chapter 11

"Don't move and be absolutely silent. It is attracted to sound and vibration." Yuki spoke rapidly and quickly.

While he tried to follow her words due to wanting to see how she was going to deal with it. Leo suddenly felt the need to sneeze and sneeze. As his sneeze echoed around, the graboid as quick as lightning pulled back its tongues and charged forward.

"You had to sneeze!" Yuki shouted angrily as she drew her sword. "Now run from here quickly. I will try to hold it back!"

"What, I didn't mean too." Leo waved his hands with no intention of running..

He didn't see why they needed to run since it was just a giant worm in his opinion. An annoying worm that can burrow underground, but a worm none the less. Picking up a rock on the ground, Leo readied himself before throwing it faster then the naked eye could see.

A loud pitch scream came from the worm as the rock easily pierced through its mouth and grabbers. As the rock wreaked havoc on its internal organs as it pierced through them like butter as its inside was considerably weaker than its outer skin.

The graboid soon stopped screaming as it continued moving forward due to its momentum carrying it. Otherwise as its blood leaked from the mouth, its entire being was unmoving as it blocked up the entire entrance blocking them from moving forward.

Stunned at the display, Yuki froze at the sudden change. She was prepared to face off against this deadly A-rank monster to allow promising new recruits to live. Yet, before she could do anything the creature was dead, dead from a rock of all things.

Her fox ears fell as did her fluffy tail as she could only stare on in confusion. It was hard for her to comprehend what happened in her opinion. It took at least ten veteran B rank adventures to bring one down. Yet, someone who just signed up, brought it down with a rock he picked up randomly.

"Is this thing valuable?" Leo asked as he stepped closer.

"No, but it is worth about fifty gold coins due to the danger one presents to the environment."

"Oh, brothel money." Leo nodded sagely, but soon felt a kick to his butt.

"Hurry up and store it away. We need to continue our quest." Sicily answered coldly.

"It was a joke." Leo mumbled to himself but it didn't sound convincing.

"No wonder the thing was so fat. It must have been a feast." Leo commented as the tunnel opened up.

A small goblin town was present as signs of recent digging were obvious alongside small tents. However, besides the traces of them living here, no intact goblin was present. Only recently disturb ground and half ruin tents were present.

"Holy, how did this go unnoticed? There could have easily been over a hundred goblins here!" Yuki said in shock.

"Either the ones that came previous either slacked off or had to turn back." Sicily said as she walked forward.

"It's strange as it doesn't appear that they captured any women either." Leo called out as he checked a few tents. "So, are they reproducing among themselves or have they recently migrated here unnoticed?"

"A mix if I had to guess. This many wouldn't be able to go unnoticed by others nor the guild."

Yuki spoke while they continued to check around. They really didn't find anything of value nor of interest. They only found signs of the final struggles of a few goblins.

"Shall we return to the guild. The mission technically completed as we 'cleared' out the mines like we were supposed to." Leo asked.

"Yes, I better report that a graboid was found in the area." Yuki agreed with his idea.

Upon returning to the city it was already late noon with most adventurers returning to turn in their quest completion notices. So, by the time they stepped into the guild, it was fairly busy as teams stood in line.

"What do you mean I'm expelled?"

A loud voice came from the front drawing most attention. The voice was loud and unmatched rage could easily be heard in his tone. When he noticed all the eyes on him, he turned back and barked angrily at everyone.

"What is everyone staring at!"

The man was large, easily towering over most inside the guild by a head or two. His bald head reflected the light as a large battleaxe hung from his back. Dressed in a mix of leather and metal armor, he gave a freighting sight as he had three long scars on his face.

"Sir, due to a large amount of complaints from both adventurers and town folks. It was deemed necessary to take measure and suspend you until further notice."

The man behind the counter spoke slowly without raising his voice. Clearly this wasn't the first time he dealt this type of punishment.

Slamming his hands down on the counter, the bald man glared heavily but in the end stomped away. As the building seemed to rattle as the man slammed the door behind him. Everything soon resumed like this episode never happened.

"What was that about?" Sicily whispered to Yuki.

"That man's name is Fred. He was a promising adventurer fifteen years ago, but due to many over praising him. Well, it went to his head and it wasn't uncommon to see him harassing others, especially women." Yuki replied quietly.

"He must have tried flirting with you quite a bit then." Leo said, looking at her with one eye. "Being quite a beauty."

"I'm not really popular like you think in these parts thanks to a bandit leader twenty five years ago. Due to being from a bear tribe, he ruled over the surrounding areas with his great strength and tough hide. So most who grew up listening to stories about him aren't interested in those that are beast demi-human."

"Shame," Leo said. "But lucky me I get to try and woo such a beautiful woman."

Unsure if she gained immunity to him and his silly words. Yuki just stayed silent until it was their turn where they reported and gained their money. So besides a raised eyebrow there wasn't an uproar or the receptionist running to the guild master due to a graboid.
