Interference

*WOOSH!*

Focusing his power into his legs, Jun pushed off the ground with enough force to leave a crater behind and rocketed towards the two battling figures.

As his body shot through the air, turbulent winds wrecked havoc around him blowing back rubble and dust everywhere as his body surpassed the speed of sound.

*BANG!!!*

Arriving between the two, Jun caught both of their swords in his hands as the sound produced by his breaking of the sound barrier echoed out behind him.

"WHAT!!"

"IMPOSSIBLE!!"

*BANG!!*

Focusing his demonic power into the palm of his demonized hands, he let it run wild and pushed the two into the distance.

Undoing the partial devil trigger on his hands, he stuffed them into his pockets and looked down on the two.

"You two cost me quite a bit of cash." A glint flashed across his eyes as he started raising his demonic power.

"Y-You're a demon!" The nun said struggling to get back on her feet.

"Great observation." He smiled and walked towards her. Crouching down, he placed one hand on her chin and lifted it up until the two were face to face. "Quite the beauty aren't you."

"Is that supposed to be a complement." She sneered.

Shrugging his shoulders, Jun caressed the side of her face and put on the most evil smile that he could.

"How about you become mine?"

"Pah! As if a god like me would let myself be captured by a lowly demon."

"Lowly demon?" He scoffed and ignored the god part. "I'm the pinnacle of demon kind, you should feel honored to give yourself to me."

Seeing as how he wasn't getting anywhere with this self proclaimed god, he decided to go talk to the immortal girl.

"Yo." He waved.

Lifting her head up from the rubble she looked at him with a mix of annoyance and curiosity.

"What do you want?"

"Can't a guy just say hello?"

"Sure, then we can go on dates, get married and die as an old married couple." The sarcasm in her voice was clear.

"I can tell you're being sarcastic, but it honestly does sound kinda fun."

"Urgh, what do you want?"

"Nothing much." He shrugged. "Just tell me why an immortal such as yourself is attacking that self proclaimed god over there."

When she heard him bring up her immortality her eyebrows furrowed. And unlike the nun over there, she was fully capable of movement.

"How do you know I'm immortal?" She asked gathering divine power around her fist.

"I know a lot of things." He shrugged and ignored her divine power.

Standing up, she looked at him in the eyes before extinguishing the white light.

"You don't seem to be hostile." She concluded.

"You wouldn't be standing if I was." He smiled and held out his hand. "Kusanagi Jun."

Looking at the outstretch hand, it took a moment before she grasped it.

"Yuuki Karin."

Her hands were quite a firm and callous, Jun could tell that she's used to working out a lot. Everything from her posture to her mannerism spoke of someone who trained consistently.

"So Karin-chan-

*SCHWING!!*

"Call me that one more time and see what happens." Feeling the coldness of a steel blade resting on his neck made Jun smile.

"Karin-chan." He whispered from behind her.

*Swoosh!*

Slashing her sword behind her, she found that Jun was standing next to her.

"That's not the flash step."

"Its teleportation." The nun came over.

"Ding ding ding!!" Sitting atop a destroyed wall, Jun's voice rang out in the ruins of the mansion.

"So, what's an immortal and a self proclaimed god doing here?"

"SELF PROCLAIMED!!" The nun got angry.

"I was sent to eliminate a family of vampires." Karin answered calmly after retrieving her hammer.

"You hunt supernatural beings as well?" He sounded surprised. Of course he knew that he wasn't the only hunter in the world, but it was rare for two hunters to come across each other unless they were collaborating.

Nodding her head, she didn't go into any detail.

"And what about you? The fake god." He turned towards the nun.

"I'M NOT FAKE!!" She yelled in defiance.

"If you were really a god, then why would you wear a nun uniform? Don't nuns pray to their own God?"

"That's because... it looks good on me..." She said in a quiet voice.

"...Can't argue with that." He shrugged and accepted her explanation. After all, someone as weak as Bishamon was considered to be a God so it wasn't to far fetched to say that this woman was one. Though in Jun's opinion no real god existed in this world. In his view a god should represent absolute perfection across all races. A God is a being that can do no wrong nor allow the concept of right and wrong to affect him. A God is something that is both completely incomprehensible yet completely ordinary, something that we'll never reach but still able to perceive. Unfortunately such a being does not exist in this world. Creatures like Bishamon were nothing more than divine beings that could be killed if one had the ability, a God on the other hand cannot be defeated as it lacks the understanding of the word.

"It at least looks better than the one that Asia wears." He nodded after looking her up and down.

"Who's Asia?"

"A nun that's crashing at my place." He said absent mindidly.

"Ludicrous! As if a believer of god would stay with a filthy demon like you!"

'Now she's beginning to sound like a god.'

Choosing to ignore her racist comments, Jun hopped down from the wall and landed in front of them.

"What's your name anyway?" He asked after realizing that if she really was a god then he'd have probably heard of her before.

Proudly puffing out her chest and putting a smug smile on her face. She looked at Jun with an arrogant expression and said, "Shinatsuhiko Yae."

'Shinatsuhiko Yae?'

"Never heard of you."

After crushing both her spirit and pride, Jun stopped paying attention to the nun and focused his attention on the immortal high schooler who was watching the two of them with an amused expression.

"So you killed the vampires?"

Nodding her head she pulled out her phone and showed him a video of the vampires taking their last breaths.

After it was finished Jun looked up at her with a weird expression. "Why did you record it?"

".....I'm going home." Refusing to answer the question, Karin turned around and started walking away.

"I can give you a ride if you want." He called out to her.

His words seemed to have some impact as it caused her to pause her steps.

"You have a car?" She turned back around.

"Even better." He smiled and summoned out the Yamato.

"A demon sword!" Pulling her sword out, Yae got into a combat stance and was ready to pounce on him in a moments notice.

"Keep your panties on, I'm not gonna attack you."

"You expect me to believe the words of a demon!"

Ignoring her, he slashed the air apart and created a portal. "I can get you anywhere you want."

Sizing up the portal, it took a moment for Karin to nod her head. "What's the catch."

"I want your number."

"....Why?" She said looking confused.

"I rarely meet anyone in the same line of work as me. Having a friend with the same job seems like it could be beneficial for the both of us."

Taking a moment to consider his words, Karin took out her phone and went over to him. "Here."

A/n: Fun fact, the dead vampires are the ones from the anime Diabolik lovers. I really hate shoujo manga and vampires, so I decided that killing them would be nice. Its a shame that Jun couldn't be the one to do it, but hey, at least we've met our first immortal character and our first non killy god.
