wasn't tired of living yet

Marco's cold voice jolted the dazed man back to reality"s-sorry general, please forgive me, my name is Ajiti, a space core mage at the second level" the space mage, Ajiti, stuttered, forcing the words out of his mouth.

"Oh, a core mage? what's your other element?"Marco asked again, now sounding interested in the mage's words.

The space mage was already sweating buckets, speaking with the general alone was already for tasking, although the general didn't release his Aura, the mage was still feeling mental pressure from speaking with this big shot, he seriously wanted to run away, he just came here to guard the gate, how did the situation escalate to this??

"My other e-element is the w-water element" Ajiti replied, forcing himself to calm down so as not to offend the general unintentionally.

"Mm, how long have you been cultivating your elements?" Marco was now very much interested.

The water and space elements, what an unusual combination.

"26 years" Ajiti muttered almost inaudibly, he was quite ashamed of himself as he wasn't a genius, although the space magic was a very rare element to awaken, he knew he was not talented at all, his magic talent was way below average, he was already lucky enough to have broken through into the core stage.

"Hmm, ok" Marco only coughed his response, now totally uninterested, he had no use for talentless mages.

"Why are you here in the outer part of the empire by the way, William?" he turned over to the silver armored man, William.

"I received an order from the council to guard the outer walls before you return, I wasn't given any other information aside from the order" William quickly explained.

Marco narrowed his eyes and thought to himself 'it seems they didn't tell him anything else, that's good though, save me the trouble of explaining things'

"Ok, settle whatever you have unsettled here and hurry back to the inner city, I will be going first," Marco said sarcastically before finally turning back to the old advisor, old vent, as they both left.

All the guards except William sighed in relief, some were taking deep breaths to calm their rampaging hearts, being around the general was really mental torture for them.

William on the other hand wasn't affected by this unintentionally released pressure from their general, he was with him most of the time so he had already gotten used to it, so instead of contemplating on the burden the rest were facing, he was deep in thoughts.

'could it be that one of those strange people appeared again? ugh, I don't even have enough clearance to know about it yet because my rank in the military is still low, this matter must be a high secret of the empire since only the council members and the military know about it

Sigh...I just hope it's not what I am thinking, having another war right now will do no good at all to the empire, the last one that appeared was already big enough pain to talk less of another' William thought about it for something before finally shaking his head to clear his thoughts.

If it really was as he thought, they would have no choice but to fight but if it wasn't and he just happened to be paranoid, it would be for the best.

He finally left with the guards, heading back to the headquarters in the inner city.

Some hundreds of meters away from the gate, Marco and old vent were both walking together in silence, it was as if the God of silence was taking a stroll beside them.

Marco finally broke the Long preserved silence"I will go report the case back to the council, you go inform the emperor, we can meet up later"

Old vent narrowed his eyes and sneered at Marco" you stupid dog, are you scared of the emperor? you go there,o will report back to the council instead"

" TKS TKS, you old fox, stop acting like an old piece of shit, are you in the military? you are an advisor for goodness sake, go do your job, shoow"Marco barked at the sly old man who was trying to avoid meeting the emperor.

"See what I am talking about? Temper, you have a very bad temper, I advise you visit the emperor more often so she can treat this bad temper of yours before it gets out of hand"old vent said calmly

Marco trembled from anger and frustration at old vent's words, his hands clenched into fists. Seriously, he seriously wanted to beat this old man into a pulp but he forced his feelings back. He knew very well it was not possible since he wasn't in any way stronger than the other party.

He took a deep breath and said with a deadpan voice"old vent, I don't have much to say to you but if you keep this going, I can't promise you that I won't tell the emperor about you calling her name's inside her own empire, so go do your job"

Marco turned into a golden light immediately after his words dropped, skidding across the sky into the distance, he quickly created a huge gap between them in a short time and was soon no longer in sight.

The old man's face turned inexplicably ugly as he looked in the direction that Marco had just disappeared to, remembering the words of the general, he couldn't help but shudder.

He knew very well how moody the emperor could be and how much she hated being called names, especially within her own territory, she took every insignificant issue seriously, and annoying her could lead to death.

His face turned pale as he slowly walked into the distance, since he was left with no choice other than to meet with the emperor, he wasn't in a hurry at all and it would take him quite a long time to get to the inner City where the emperor lived by foot.

After all, who would be in a hurry to meet such a scary and moody woman, old vent wasn't tired of living yet, he still had things to take care of and things to enjoy, and he wasn't in a rush to go into the circle of reincarnation, that would only be unfortunately.

(A/N: I Know some of you might be wondering why I referred to the emperor as 'her', I assure you it wasn't a mistake or typing error, the 'emperor' here is actually a woman.

The reason I address her as emperor instead of the empress is that the title is a kind of tradition I added, it will be explained in future Chapters, but just know that the title emperor is specifically for the rulers of every empire and won't be changed regardless of gender, so try to get used to it.

Remember, it's just a title*smirk*)
