Chapter 15: Lucille The Town Mayor

Back at the Shop, Kane put all the stuff he own on the table and he immediately went to his new room to sleep, the room he has now is better than the one he has back in the village, although his shop is quite old it is very well maintained, the former shop owner took great care of the place.

" It's nice to have my own bed, I don't have to pay for my stay every time, though I have to make my own food or go out to buy them, it's fine " Kane said as he lie down on his new bed.

" I should go and do the necessary paperwork for my shop tomorrow so that I can start my operations " Kane made a plan for tomorrow, and after sorting out what he should do tomorrow, he quickly fell asleep and Cloud did the same, he slept beside Kane.

Early in the morning, Kane is already getting prepared since he has another long day today.

He walked out of the house and headed straight to the town hall.

" Excuse me" Kane said towards the lady he saw walking inside the town hall carrying stacks of paper.

" Yes, how can I help you? " she said as she struggles to carry the heavy stacks of paper.

" Here let me help you with that " Kane easily carried the tall stacks of paper with one hand, he is now exhibiting the strength he got after Cloud advanced to tier 4.

" Thank you " the lady said as she fix her clothes.

" I am planning to open a beast shop in this town and I need some paperwork before I operate so I am here to take care of that, do you know where can I find the person in charge? " Kane asked the lady.

" Ahh, I see, you are lucky, I am on my way there come with me " The lady said as she lead that way.

Kane followed her while carrying the tall stack of paper with ease.

After a few flights of stairs, they finally reached a tall door with a sign on top saying " Mayor's Office "

" The Mayor's Office? " Kane asked confusedly.

" Ah yes, the mayor is also the one in charge of releasing business permits " The lady explained.

They entered the room and inside is a young man with long black hair, staring at the giant window watching the busy streets of Willow Town.

" Lisa you're finally here, and you even brought a friend with you " the Mayor said, he turned around and Kane is shocked by how handsome the Mayor is.

" Hello sir, this young man here helped me carry your paper works, plus he is also here for you " the lady named Lisa said with a cold tone.

" Is that so? " The mayor said with a smile on his face.

" You can leave us now " The Mayor said to Lisa and she left the Mayor's Office without a word.

" She appears to be cold but she is a kind and warm-hearted lady " The Mayor explained even though he don't need to.

" Ah,hehehehehe, is that so? " Kane said awkwardly.

Kane places down the stack of paper that he's still holding for some reason.

*Thud* it made a loud noise.

" Thank you for carrying my work" the mayor said.

" Seeing that you're a beast tamer, why do you want to open a business here? " The Mayor added.

Kane stared at the mayor before answering, the mayor deduced that he is a beast tamer from his strength alone, but how can he be so sure that Kane plans to open a business.

" How do you know that I plan to open a business? " Kane asked.

" Well I am the one responsible for releasing business permits so I should say it's pretty obvious for someone to look for me " the Mayor said with a smile.

" What if I am here for a different reason? " Kane asked.

" Are you? " The Mayor answered with a question.

" No " Kane answered.

" Okay then, what kind of business do you want to open? " the mayor said. " Wait let me introduce myself first, my name is Lucille Vanders, how about you what's your name? " Mayor Lucille asked.

" My name's Kane, just Kane " Kane introduced himself and they shook hands.

" Now Kane, what kind of shop do you plan to open? " Mayor Lucille asked.

" I plan to open a beast shop, but I will also be selling some pills and other Alchemy products in my shop " Kane explained.

" Hmmm, I see, that's good, but do you have a certification that proves you're capable and qualified as an Alchemist and a Breeder? " Lucille asked with a smile on his face.

" Huh? What do you mean? " Kane asked confusedly, Lily and Dan didn't mention anything about Qualifications.

At a certain Alchemy shop in Redwoods Town.

" Achooo! " Lily scratched her nose. " Someone is talking about me, is it Dan? Maybe he is saying bad stuff behind my back? Or Greg? But he is not the type of person who talks behind people's backs, maybe it's Kane? He must've missed me already " Lily started to imagine things.

Inside a simple office.

" Haaaachoooo!, Shit, did I catch a cold? " Dan said as he sneezed while doing some work.

Back at the Mayor's Office in Willow Town.

" It seems like you don't know, to open an Alchemy shop you must have an official Alchemist the same goes for a beast shop, there should be an official Breeder, and since you're alone you must be the breeder and the Alchemist, but you need to be recognized by the Alchemy Tower and Beast Breeder Hall " Lucille explained with a smile on his face.

" Alchemy Tower? Beast Breeder Hall? " Kane asked confusedly.

" They are the two big factions that handle all matters regarding Alchemy and Beast Breeding, they exist to make sure that Alchemist and Breeders will follow the rules and be true to their craft, since in the ancient times when Alchemy and Breeders are just being recognised as an important part of the Beast Taming world, the so-called Alchemist and Breeders took advantage of their newfound status " Lucille explained.

" That means I cannot open my Shop unless I have a certification from Alchemy Tower and Beast Breeder Hall? " Kane asked. " But where can I get the required certification? " Kane added.

" Let me ask you first, where did you learn Alchemy and Beast Breeding? " Lucille asked, " since all Alchemist and Breeders are knowledgeable when it comes to those two factions because not only do they serve the purpose to balance the status of Alchemist and Breeders to Beast Tamers and other professions they also exist to protect their members " Lucille said.

" Really? " Kane asked.

"Mmmhhmmm" Lucille nodded. " once a person became a member of the Alchemy Tower and Beast Breeder Hall they almost became invincible to normal beast tamer and other people, if someone killed an Alchemist or a Breeder that is a part of the tower and the hall, the two faction will launch an investigation and will punish the culprit if they are proven guilty " Lucille added.

" They possess that much power? " Kane said.

" Of course they are the richest factions out there and with that kind of wealth having strong Beast Tamers is normal, they can even nurture a normal human into a powerhouse expert in just a few years " Lucille said.

" Is that so?" Kane said, with a smile on his face, although there is a problem with the opening of his shop, he got a great and deeper understanding of Alchemists and Breeders in return. The new things he learned made him very happy. The fact that Alchemist and Breeders are protected by strong factions made him excited.

' if being a member of the Alchemy Tower will provide me protection, and if I also became a member of the Beast Breeder Hall I'll be untouchable ' Kane thought to himself.

" I was thought by an Alchemist I know back in Redwoods town, and a Beast Shop owner thought me as well " Kane said, he didn't mention the books since he does not trust the mayor yet, the existence of those books is complicated since they contain uncommon knowledge and those are extremely expensive, it might cost him his life.

" Did they happen to give you a book that contains knowledge about Alchemy and Beast Breeding? " Lucille asked.

Kane's expression changed for a few seconds before it turned back to normal.

Kane stared at Lucille for a few seconds.

" Well if a person presented an Alchemy Grimoire or a Breeding Tome, the Alchemy Tower and Beast Breeding Hall recognizes it as a referral, and the person who presented them will be an immediate member, they will receive Alchemy lessons or Beast Breeding lessons and if the person who presented them already knows Alchemy and breeding they will be eligible for the qualification test or assessment and if the person passed they will be given a badge that proves they are a member " Lucille explained with a sly smile, he already deducted that Kane received an Alchemy Grimoire and a Breeding Tome and he specifically explained their uses to Kane.

" I see " Kane nodded, showing that he understand.
