Imprisoned by the CEO

“You will have to marry me and bear me a child.”  “What the fuck?!” Logic flew out of the window when Grace heard him say that. “Excuse me, what did you just say?”  Maybe, she was the one who had heard him wrong. It could have been anything except marrying him and giving him a child.  “You heard me,” Christian tsked, “but I’ll repeat it. Marry me and have my child.”  Her mouth opened and gaped at me. In her mind, she was trying to make sense about what was going on. How in the world had it come to be? What in the world could make the situation come to this?!  “No?” Grace replied, but then realized that the word was not firm enough. “No.” she said again. Christian frowned, and it seemed so innocent like he had not asked her the most unbelievable thing. “Why not? I thought you wanted to help me. You offered.”  “I offered my help, my brain, my support not my,” she hesitated, “stomach!”  What was the word for it? “Womb,” he provided.  “Yes!” She slapped her hand on the table. “You don’t get my womb!”   “I don’t?” He challenged.  “No!”  “What if helping me out means Lorelai coming out of a coma?”  Grace felt her heart drop. “What?”  Christian nodded. “What if helping me out, agreeing to what you have to do for me, means bringing your grandmother out of the, that she is in?”  ******** Grace  was one strong girl and with the people she put her trust in, that was only a small number, she knew she could conquer the world, or at least she thought to herself.  When her best friend proposed a deal that could change their lives, she made a decision that was going to be mutually beneficial to both of them.  But one renovation led to many and everything has been just a game, a manipulation from him. Everything was full of deceit, lies, planning and plotting against her. Every single thing, right down the fact that only he had been her friend…  Everything was a lie and she had been living it, willingly.  Tropes; Friends to lovers, office romance, best friends, frenemies, marriage of convenience, possessive villainous and morally gray heroes!

To new beginnings - I

There was a car already waiting for her when she stepped out. Carson held the door open for her and even handed her her phone that she now noticed.

They had taken her phone from the apartment?

He took it from him and settled in the car. Carson closed the door for her and the driver drove off.

Grace logged out of the windows as the familiar streets came to be after sometime. The mansions and estates were on The other much greener and of New York and it was often Christian or his driver that drove her back and forth to the mansion if she needed to go there.

Fifth avenue. Mr Miller had got her a home in fifth avenue?!

Had that man forgotten that she did not have enough resources to pay around $25,000 for rent? That was not even the rent of a bakery which was now demolished!

"Mr Miller has bought the apartment ma'am," the driver told her and she met his eyes through the rear view mirror for a second before he looked away, "The watchman is aware that you are coming by today. If there is any help needed in moving, the staff will help you."

She nodded not caring for the fact If the man was getting the reaction that she had given him or not. He parked the car in front of the Avenue where the parking was and opened the door for Grace who was too shocked to do it herself.

She was met with people dressed in nines and immediately looked down on hoodie and large track pants. Both of them are over-sized.

This felt like she was the daughter of the richest man on the planet. Because the interior was amazing!

Grace felt intimidated by everything. Everything was too shiny and she was thankful that the driver did not stop. It seemed like the receptionist had handed him the key and he took her to the left from where they were right in front of her room moments after.

"Here ma'am," he handed her the key, "I am your designated driver. I am on call number five on the intercom. I will be here from eight o'clock in the morning to ten at night." He gave her a tight smile and a small bow before walking out leaving her to stand in front of an apartment with the key in her hand.

The very apartment cost approximately millions and she knew she could have never afforded it. At least not before her thirties.

She opened the door and almost gasped.

The house was beautiful even if the walls were bare of the decorations.

The furniture was already there and everything else that was already there matched it. From the colour of the walls to the curtains to the wood in the furniture everything was a match and she could see that Mr Miller had deliberately avoided putting decorations because she would have wanted to put them on her own.

She threw the key on the table and walked to the balcony. The view was much better than what her old apartment had and it was obvious because this caused $20,000 a month!

She opened the calls. There were only two people that she called the most. One was her grandmother and the other was Christian. Her hand hovered over his number before clicking it and pressing the loudspeaker button.

. . .the number that you h—

She hung up.
