Liam stared at Anastasia, the confusion and hurt evident on his face. "Where is Nick? What happened to your best friend?" She scoffed. "Do not call him my friend, he is not my friend after what he did. And for your question, he is gone."

"Gone? What do you mean by he is gone? Did you kill him too, just like you killed my baby?" Liam asked, tears forming in his eyes as he recalled the recent loss.

Anastasia maintained her uncaring demeanor. "I did not kill our baby. It was not even a baby, it was a fetus. So I did not kill anybody. He was not a person yet."

"I don't give a fuck if he was a fetus or a cell, it was my child. I felt him growing in my stomach for eight fucking weeks and you just easily killed him because you hated my rank. You killed an innocent person," Liam shouted in anguish.

Anastasia slammed her fist against the office in frustration. "It was not a person."
