Chapter 50: Disbelief

“Good morning, Love.” Logan kissed my shoulder as bright morning sunshine streamed in through the window.

I lifted my phone off the counter and looked again. Nothing. No voice messages. Nothing. This wasn’t like them.

Logan quickly closed the distance between us and kissed my forehead, placing his hands on my shoulders. “Lycia, why don’t I order us some breakfast and I’ll check it out with some of my men.”

I shook my head. “No, Logan. I’m going, too.” I bit the inside of my jaw, trying to think. “I’ll be right out.”

He caught my hand as I passed, giving it a gentle squeeze. “Take your time.”
