Chapter 22: Playtime

Logan

I’d never been so happy to see Lycia in my life as when I walked through the door of Lycia’s suite with Marshall close behind me. I quickly crossed the room, and pulled her in for a quick hug.

“How did it go?” she asked, her eyes filled with concern.

“Well, Father smoothed things over, or he and Don Miano did.” I headed to the bar and poured Marshall and me bourbons, straight up, and handed him one. “He said that we would let him handle his son this time. But next time will be a different story. Surprisingly, Don Miano understood.”

“So, we’re free to go out?” Siren headed toward the door. “That’s good to know.”

“Nope!” Marshall blocked her way. “None of us are to leave the Compound tonight. And when we do leave, we’re to take guards with us.”

Siren scoffed as she turned to face me. “Thanks a lot, Logan. Now, I can’t go out tonight!”

“If you were going, you should have already gone,” I replied, shaking my head. “Why do you wait so late to go out, anyway?”
