Chapter 9- The Meeting

After Shaun told Liam everything, he had been nothing but nice to her. Her pregnancy was now obvious, but with Liam's help, their parents still were unaware.

Liam was accompanying Shaun to meet Jared after they received an email from him stating Shaun and the baby were in danger and had to leave. Liam wasn't thrilled about complying.

"I don't trust this Jared guy," he mumbled. "He seems like a real perv."

Shaun sighed. "He's the only one that can help me at this point. You know, if Mom found out, she would kick me out."

"Oh, be real Shaun." Liam said rolling his eyes, "She's the most understanding person I know and besides, you know dad loves you too much to make her do that."

"I'm not changing my mind, Liam."

Liam shook his head and quickly followed behind her. "You know, for a smart girl, you're pretty dumb," he said.

Shaun stopped in her tracks and glared at him. "Look, I can do this without you. Go home."

"Over my dead body," he responded, walking in front of her.

They finally reached the valley where they were to meet Jared. He was already there in a puff sleeve shirt and dress pants.

"Is he taking you to ancient prom or something?" Liam joked. Shaun rolled her eyes and hurried over to Jared.

Jared met her halfway. "This is my brother, I didn't tell him, he found out." Shaun quickly said before he said anything.

"It's okay, darling," he assured her, brushing her cheeks.

Liam rolled his eyes and threw the bag at him. "Take care of my sister, jerk."

"Liam!" Shaun grunted, narrowing her eyes at him.

"Look, I didn't mean for any of this to happen," Jared said softly.

"Yeah, right! You didn't mean to pick up an intoxicated seventeen-year-old girl and seduced her." Liam shouted.

"Is that what you told him?" Jared glowered at Shaun. His voice was calm, but his eyes changed to an icy blue. "You weren't drunk at all. No form of alcohol was in your blood."

Shaun looked away as if no one was talking.

"Why don't you tell your brother how you claimed on top me, very sober instead of acting as if I raped you." he continued, "I'm many things but a rapist isn't one."

"Spare me the details," Liam said, putting up his hand. He walked up to Shaun and kissed her forehead. "Remember to text me every night and day and turn on your location whenever you feel like it," he whispered to her. Shaun nodded.

He glared at Jared once more before walking to his car.

Jared turned his attention to Shaun, who quickly looked down.

"Now why would you say that?" he asked her.

"I panicked." She pouted.

Jared sighed." How is my baby?" he asked.

"Weird," she said, rolling her eyes.

"How so?" he asked, holding her hand and leading her to his car.

"Promise me you won't get creeped out," she breathed.

Jared nodded.

"I always feel sick and upset, but whenever I eat meat or taste blood, I'm suddenly at ease. Don't freak out, okay? I read that women have weird cravings when they're pregnant, so I'm guessing that's what I'm just having." Shaun admitted.

"I have to tell you something, but later, let's get you home," Jared said.

"Home?" Shaun asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah," He said nodding, "That's where you're gonna stay until the baby is born."
