Impregnated by a Vampire (IBAV Part I)

Overachieving introvert Shaun Russell lives her life in the shadow of her outgoing, effervescent best friend, Bria. She is a hopeless romantic and had always wanted her first time to be spectacular, just like what she had seen in movies. However, an overbearing mother who demanded nothing but brilliance and an overprotective stepdad who scared away all her suitors made it inconceivable. But one fateful night with charming vampire royalty, Jared Novak, changed Shaun's life forever. Now, she has to roll with the punches and get out of the shadows to prove to an entirely different species that she is worthy.

Chapter 7- The Intruder

The feelings of lust and remorse came flooding back once more as soon as Shaun saw Jared's face.

"Can we talk?" he asked.

Andrene stood beside Shaun, raising an eyebrow. She cleared her throat, forcing Shaun and Jared to turn their gaze to her.

"Oh, this is my aunt Andrene. Aunty, this is my ...."

"Physics tutor," Jared responded quickly, cutting her off. "I'm her physics tutor."

Before anyone could say anything, Jared quickly pulled Shaun away.

"How did you even know I was here?" Shaun asked, glaring at him.

"I know you're pregnant," he blurted.

Shaun's jaw dropped as she stared at him in disbelief. "How. How di-di." She stammered. When the words failed to come out, she started to hit him. "I hate you, you fucking bastard! You did this to me."

Jared stood there, allowing her to vent and hit him. Although he hardly felt anything, it was still slightly irritating. He tried to get her to calm down by holding her hands and forcing her to look at him.

"Getting you pregnant was never my intent, Shaun. I'm sure I'll be confronting more problems than you. We both were having fun; it was a mistake." Jared whispered.

Shaun pushed him off and began walking towards the store where Andrene now stood in front of, waiting for her. Jared held her arm and pulled her back to him. He held her by her cheeks, forcing her to stare at him. "It's true, Shaun."

"If you never meant to get me pregnant, how do you know that I'm pregnant? No one knows, and I'm not even really showing. So how could you?" she asked; her voice breaking, "since I met you, weird things have happened, like seriously, who are you?"

"I'll tell you soon," he promised her.

"I'm keeping the baby whether or not you'll be here." Shaun continued, angrily glaring at him.

"And I want you to. He's mine too." He said, brushing her cheeks softly, "You should pack some clothes. I'll return for you next Saturday, sundown. It's not safe here." he said. He kissed her lightly and disappeared behind a car.

Shaun stood frozen, playing over everything that had just happened. "He said 'he'" she kept saying to herself, "How does he know it is a 'he'?" She was both frightened and relieved. Frightened of what would happen if her family discovered and frightened of Jared. It seemed he could always find her whenever he needed her, but not vice versa. However, she was relieved that someone knew about the pregnancy- and that someone caused her predicament and also relieved that he wanted the baby too.

Andrene stood waiting for her. She stared hard at Shaun as she walked up to her, waiting for an explanation.

'I'm so sorry, Andrene." Shaun apologised. "Jared isn't as Orthodox?"

Andrene smirked a bit. "Physics tutor, huh?" she teased. "I thought it would have been the other way around. You're pretty smart in physics,"

"I am good, but not the best. He's rather smart, just slightly awkward," Shaun chuckled nervously.

Andrene rolled her eyes and smiled. "You have never had normal friends. I saw the way you looked at him and especially the way HE looked at you and the way you held his hand. Are you sure he isn't more than your 'tutor?'" Andrene teased.

Shaun blushed and shook her head.

"I'm just saying." Andrene continued smiling, "I was young once, too."

"And you still are," Shaun replied, pulling her into the store.

When Jared returned to the castle, his girlfriend, Carrie, stood at his room door, pouting. As soon as she saw him, she ran up and hugged him.

"I missed you," she said, pouting more. Her red eyes changed to violet. "I was gone for less than an hour," Jared responded. He opened the door and waited for her to come in before closing it.

"I just don't like to be away from you for long. I love you," she said.

"We just started dating a week ago."

"It doesn't matter. You are my soulmate, that's just how it goes, and don't you think it's time I had a key to your room?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

"We're not soulmates, Carrie." Jared clarified, "And I told you, I'm a private person, I'm not ready for that yet." He got up and changed his shirt while Carrie got more comfortable on his bed.

"Well, I want us to be, and if the elders do not approve, fuck 'em, I don't care." She got up off the bed and walked over to him and held his shoulders. "If I can't have you, no one will." She whispered, unbuttoning his shirt.
