Chapter 46

ALEX

I'm not going to deny I was worried when I saw Gabriela was upset. That was the main reason I stayed with her until her siblings came over, but only because she asked me to, otherwise I would stay with her until she no longer needed me.

I was on my way home and I was thinking about how Gabriela was doing and hoping nothing happened to her grandmother, she loved her too much for something to happen to her. When I got home, I went to my room. I wasn't hungry and it didn't take long for my mother to come see me.

"Aren't you going to eat anything?" she asked and I denied "I'm not hungry." I responded, "Has something happened to you at college?" She inquired and I denied once again "No, everything is fine, I'm just not hungry."

"Okay, but we have to talk." she said, sitting on my bed. "About what?" I asked, "About the other day." She started and I denied, because I didn't want to start arguing with her again. "I don't want to talk about Gabriela, not with you." I replied, "You have to understand me, Alex, after everything you've been through and put that girl through, I prefer you don't get close to her, for your sake and hers."

"I don't want to talk, seriously." I insisted "As you wish, but just so you know, I liked that girl for you." she responded and I nodded, because I already knew that. "I know, and I like her for me." I admitted, "If you hadn't done anything to her, she might have been with you."

"Maybe, but we'll see how things go." I blurted out, a little tired of Mom's insistence. "What are you talking about?" She asked, frowning. "My things, now if you can leave me alone, I want to study for a while."

"Anyway, when you're hungry, come down, you'll have something in the microwave." she said, getting up and heading to the door. I thanked her. It's not I was going to study. My grandmother was also angry with me at first, but she supported me from the beginning and that was something I value a lot.

The hours passed slowly, for me at least. I wanted to know how Gabriela was doing, but I wasn't going to call her until the evening because I'm completely sure she would spend the afternoon there and I didn't want to bother her. I don't know when I fell asleep and when I woke up it was around nine at night, and more than anything I woke up because I was hungry, so I decided it was better to go down before calling Gabriela. I know it would take me some time to have dinner, mostly because I was alone and I would watch TV for a while.

I turned on the television and started watching the first thing that seemed interesting to me, but it didn't take me long to get bored and I decided it was better to go back to the room, anyway, not that I was going to do anything. I took one of the books to study for a while, but I soon got tired so I started doing something else, nothing interesting really.

It was ten thirty when I decided it was better to send her a message to see if she could talk to which she soon replied she was going to go home, I should talk to her in a while, so it seems everything's fine. While I didn't call her, she was going to write her a letter I hope she would like.

I sat at the desk, grabbed a pen and a piece of paper and started thinking. The words almost came out by themselves, I guess because in this letter I would tell her everything I feel. I don't know when I would give it to Gabriela, I was hoping to end it today and give it to her tomorrow.

I was writing when Gabriela called me and it didn't take me long to answer. We talked until we began to feel sleepy and we talked about everything and nothing at the same time, so we said goodbye and hung up.

It was time to get up and before going down to breakfast, I read the letter one last time, to make sure there were no errors, but I didn't find any, so I put it in my backpack and went to breakfast. My mother had already gone to work, so I could have a great start of my morning.

When it was time to leave, I grabbed the car keys and headed to college. Since Gabriela and I began to get along better with me, I went to college with more time, I always arrived when the bell rang, but now I went with about ten minutes before the bell rang and way I could talk to her, see how she was doing and spend more time with her. I arrived at the college and before I got out of the car, I saw Gabriela's siblings were passing by on their way to the campus, which confirmed she arrived.

As soon as they enter college I get out of the car and head to where Gabriela is. At the moment there were only Marcos and her, I wouldn't have murderous looks for the moment, not until Sara arrived at least. I'm about two meters away when Gabriela turns in my direction, I don't know if it's because she heard me or why, but as soon as I see her, a big smile forms on my face, and it's a miracle I didn't drool. Marcos doesn't take long to turn around and when he sees me and then he sees Gabriela again, a smile also forms on his face.

"Hello, my queen, how is your grandmother?" I asked after giving her a hug. "Hi, she's okay, thanks for asking." She said "Well guys, I'll leave you alone. See you later Gabriela." Marcos said, starting to walk towards the campus. "You don't need to leave." Gabriela protested. "I know, but I'm going to do it, so I can talk to Sara and see if I can make her see reason."

"I don't think you'll make it, and you know I don't care what she thinks, if I want, I'll do it, not even my parents will be able to stop it." Gabriela assured, "I know, and I'm happy about it, but I'm leaving." He insisted, "Marcos…" Gabriela began, but he raised his hand to stop her, which she did. "You're not going to convince me, we both know you want it, so don't do it now."

I don't know what they were talking about exactly, but I didn't really care. Marcos left and the two of us were alone, so I could give her the letter, but I think it was better to give it to her later, so she could read it when she was alone, I think it was the best.

"Can I ask you a question?" Gabriela asked, focusing her gaze on mine. "As many as you want, beautiful." I assured "Why are you coming earlier now?" She asked and I laughed, because apparently, she had realized, "Easy, because I can spend some more time with you."

"You didn't have to do it; I know you don't like getting up so early." She assured me, but I denied, because that didn't matter to me at all. "For you it doesn't beautiful." I stated and her smile widened. "Will you ever stop being as exaggerated as you are?"

"If you mean I stop calling you beautiful and all, you can forget about it because I'm not going to do it, I will always call you that." I admitted, because nothing and no one would change the idea Gabriela wasn't beautiful. "But I think I'm nothing like that."

"You are, for me and for many other people you are." I assured "Well then I don't know, thank you." She responded, "You're welcome, but I'm only telling you the truth, it's nothing else." I assured and she rolled her eyes "I don't know what you're going to deal with, I just know you're exaggerated, that hasn't changed anything, I think you're even more exaggerated than before."

"I don't know, maybe." Just then it rang the bell and we left for college. I accompanied her to her class like I had done since the party, which is basically where we started to get along better, at least she did.

"Then at recess you will come with us, right?" she asked and I shrugged "I don't want to bother Sara." I assured, "You won't do it, I would like you to be with us. "You can bring Dani if you want, or your friends."

"I will thing about it." I responded and a smile appeared on her face "Okay, then see you later Alex." She said "See you later, my queen." I returned it and with that I went to class. I'm sure classes would be slow, but the wait was going to be worth it, I would be at break time with her and that was the only thing mattered to me, Gabriela and her happiness.
