Chapter 37. Sarah

Sarah shuddered. This was exactly the same reason she had been trying to stop him from learning the split mind technique. Though, she knew that the heavens had the path already curved for him?

He was to find out one way or the other. But was the martial world ready to receive the power of the immortal king? The answer was a no! This would lead to the immortal realm coming to find him and disrupting the balance.

Yeah. She knew that he was already powerful even during his birth. All this time he had been cultivating and had been using the energy in his meridians. She knew what was going to happen once he tapped into the power.

Alaric stopped his thoughts and immediately tried to feel the leaking energy. What a joke! He had been alive for sixteen years and not once had he felt the seal until he entered the Cryptic Plane. Was he going to feel the energy?

You never know till you try... He steeled his mind and started studying the origin source. It took him almost two weeks in meditation position before he could finally find where the energy was leaking from.

To think that he had a 10% unsealed and he still had not realized the exact part. After finding out, he was then able to feel the foreign energy. Well maybe the origin energy was the one that could be said to be foreign.

This foreign energy he felt was his Bloodline. The one that had been sealed. The bloodline could be said to be the origin source of immortals. He knew it was the foreign energy but his body felt very familiar and compatible with it.

His entire body had a soothing feeling as he tapped into the energy and made it circulate inside his body. It was then that something completely out of his control happened.

He felt a crack in his brain. Two consecutive like that of glass. The technique he had been trying to study suddenly became as easy as emptying a glass of water. He could feel every brain cell and their dormance.

The next that was required was for him to awaken them by filling them with energy. These steps were as simple at the moment and they happened like they had been planned before.

The foreign energy instantly energized his dormant brain cell and awakened them. It was then that it happened. Everything became clear and he could even fell his thoughts forming. Every possibility replayed in his mind. But that was not the shocking part though.

It appeared that he could see something infront of him. An array tablet probably. But what was even foreign were the words written on it. The first thing he saw was the word [SUBJECT]. What was happening? It was at these times he needed Sarah the most. But she was dormant.

[SUBJECT]. Alaric Millicenta...

These were the first words that appeared and were then followed by a voice similar to Sarah. It was slightly mechanical. The next words played out as they formed infront of him on the screen.

[SUBJECT]-Alaric Millicenta.

[AGE]- 16.

[SYSTEM NAME]- Sarah.

[RACE]- Primal Immortal.

[BLOODLINE]- Immortal King, unawakened.

[MANIFESTATION]- Lightning God.

[ABILITIES]- Array Practitioner, Split Mind.

[PLANE]- Cryptic Plane, Second stage.

[ELEMENT]- Lightning - Awakened Silver First Grade.

Water- Not awakened.

Earth - Not awakened.

Wind- Not awakened.

Light- Not awakened.

Fire-Not awakened.

Space- Not awakened.

Time- Not awakened.

Darkness- Not awakened.

[STATUS]- Subject weak to wield other elements.

[REQUIREMENTS]- Fulfil missions.

[MISSION]- PROTECT AURORA.

Whatever all this was about he did not know. He had laughed when the system called him weak kist like Sarah who never spared him wven after a breakthrough. But what was this system?

[ANSWER]- The system is a special function created by the immortal king to help him awaken his Bloodline after he got reincarnated.

Alaric jaw dropped and his eyes almost popped out. Immortal king? He had even forgotten about what he had seen and heard. Also, how did it know his second name when he actually didn't? Sarah's voice had played everything he saw infront of him.

"Where is Sarah?" Alaric asked.

[ANSWER]- I am Sarah. After you fully awakened you brain, I was able to evolve to my true form. In this form, I am bound to answer every question and offer missions to help in your rise as immortal king.

All this was confusing at the moment. Why did she keep saying Immortal King?

[ANSWER]- The Immortal king is the king of immortals. There is only one Immortal King. During his reign, he had anticipated his betrayal and made preparations for it. The major act was creating the system to remind him about his mission. To find his betrayers and regain his position.

"Who is this Immortal King you keep talking about?" After asking this question, he felt like a fool. Was he not the one with the system?

[ANSWER]- He got reincarnated and he now has the system.

Alaric laughed self depreciatingly. She was bound to answer him but it did not specify how.

"I want to know more," Alaric spoke.

[ANSWER]- With the seal on your memories beoken, you can at least understand a few things. I recommend you go through your unsealed memories first.

Alaric was met by shock. His memories were unsealed. Were they not supposed to remain sealed till he got a strong mind? Did that mean he got one? Little did he know that he was seeking out tears? Maybe after he went through them he would wish they had remained sealed.

What he found out was that he could remember everything as it happened even as he was one day old. They had been running from from something. They were the one who sealed his Bloodline...

Then a familiar humming came to his memory and he could not control the tears from his eyes. That beautiful lady he called his mom for five years. How could he forget her. Who was it that loved him more than her?

Where had they gone? Were they caught? Impossible! The more he thought the more tears came out. What if they were killed? He felt weak and his meditation position turned to a kneeling position. His hands pressing on his head as he tried to calm bimself down. For eleven years he had forgotten about them.

His dad... Meryl... Even his name. Was je even a worthy son?

How could he forgive himself? Had he not sworn to make the ones who sealed his Bloodline and memories pay? Had he not been doing that all along?

Had he not forgotten about them? What was the worst punishment than being forgotten by the person you love and cared for most?He beat the floor with his palms as they turned red. He punched it severeal times until he felt his fingers bleed.

He had to go home and find them. He always stared at that gate but he never bothered about his home. Was he that heartless?

"Where are they?" Alaric asked his calm taking over.

[ANSWER]-Subject too weak to enter the immortal realm. Possibility- reach the God Plane and unseal your Bloodline.

Alaric eyes shone with a strange light that ranged from green to blue.

"Where are my memories of the Immortal King?" Alaric asked.

[ANSWER] -During reincarnation, one cannot pass their memories. It will be up to you to awaken them.

Useless! Useless! His mind screamed. Nothing he heard was of importance.

"How do I awaken my memories?" He asked.

[ANSWER]- One of your secret mission is to awaken your memories. You can only awaken them by triggering them. It is done by recognizing familiar objects or activities.

"So you just confirmed my parents are in the Immortal Realm." Alaric spoke.

[ANSWER]- Yes. But with my range of information reach, I know nothing more than that. You willl have to enter the immortal realm so as to gain more information.

Alaric cursed. So this was all his doing? He must have known that he would have his Bloodline sealed that he had created the system. He must have had planned everything and even more he did not know about yet but one thing he knew was that it all required him to enter the God Plane.

[...] - Subject is correct.

Alaric laughed again he did not like the part where the system called him subject.

"Could you change the name subject, please?" Alaric asked.

[ANSWER]- Subject's request denied. The function does not allow me to change anything.

Alaric laughed. He must have known that this word would anger him when he created it. He could only let himself get annoyed by his actions.

"What do you mean protect Aurora?" Alaric suddenly asked.

[ANSWER]- Victim Aurora requires to be protected from incoming threats. Details-unknown at the moment.

Alaric paused for a moment. He had gotten carried away in asking questions that he had forgotten about what he had seen in the screen. It had all elements and time was amongst them. This would only mean that when he created the system, he had alredy seen the future...

There was something more he had noted. There was no wood element though. What could that mean. Did the system not say he had affinity to all elements? Was wood not an element.

"Why is wood not in the list of elements?"

[ANSWER]- Wood element was only discovered recently after your death. System has no way to recognize the awakening procees. Another hidden quest is to learn the wood element.

Alaric shuddered for a moment. So he had died...
