Chapter 29. Just one?

The four who were standing shook in anger. Their fingers clenched tightly on the palm that Zeddy's dripped with blood. He was the first to take action. He raised his right hand and five guys came from the crowd. He did not care more about impressing her. He needed to teach those two guys a lesson and also their place. The three could also not take it anymore and also called for their men. The best way to conquer a girl was by show of strength just as their parents had taught them. Maybe because she had been moving with guys without cultivation, maybe they would show her they had power.

A group of 20 stepped forward and walked towards the three who were leaving. Some folded the sleeves of their shirts and others hit their right fist on their left palm. These guy were all in second stage. They hurried and a guy in front of the rest raised his voice.

"Hey bastards, how does it feel to be controlled by a lady. Isn't that a little shameful for two men without cultivation to be following girls around. Oh maybe you are simps who bend at a beauty thats why you are in her harem. Too bad, today you must not bother our Lady Aurora with your stinky flesh. You should also get your filthy hands off her," the guy was 6'2 and had his hair reddish and spiky. The others behind him laughed and hurried forward.

" Did you not hear us? Or did she command you not to stop?" A guy with green hair spoke and everyone laughed. It was actually shameful for a man to be handsome and a simp though. These two were both and to make matters worse was that they had no cultivation.

These words stopped the three who turned to look at them. There was this rule that said the matters of the younger generation can only be solved by the younger generation. No adult was to interfere with them as this encouraged them to have problem solving skills and also these battles were sometimes means of strengthening someone. But this was an excuse of the nobles to allow their kids do what they wanted. There were only going to be consequences if a person died so everything else was allowed. The group finally stood a few meters from the three and looked at the expressionless faces of the three. Even with their provocations they managed to stay calm.

"Is this how you react after you realize that you are nothing infront of a beauty like our love Aurora?" The guy with reddish black spoke and one could see the shift in the four.

"Are you just saying that because you are under the umbrella of the princess? What a man you are," James scoffed his voice disdaining them.

"You know if you four were not simps like your fathers were, you would be slightly different," the black haired guy said. The crowd was silent. Did he just insult four mayors at the same time? The guy must have had a death wish or maybe he thought that he was safe under the princess. The four felt their angers rise to a new height. They could not take such an insult laying down. Were they not every girls dream? Could it be that they were simps?

"Leave Aurora alone and break their hands and legs," Matthew said. It was funny how everyone became friends when they had a common enemy. But its better to say there are no enemies in life, just different opinions.

"Is this how real men act? I thought..." Aurora wanted to continue but was stopped by Alaric who held her hand. He went forward and Rey too almost stepped forward but Alaric stopped him by raising his hand. He then scanned the group of twenty. All were in the second stage. He couldn't help but laugh at them. At the moment only a fourth stage could make him break a sweat. And probably, he would win. Then a bunch of second grades wanted to fight him. What a joke. Though, he could not break the three rules he had set about battling others. He could not underestimate them. Alaric stretched and his back cracked. A pleased smile appeared on his lips as he rolled his blue pants to the calves. It had been long since he did that. Too long.

"I said mad men begets mad men but also idiots begets idiots. It actually birds of yellow feathers attract those of the same colour," Alaric started. One could see the slight pause of all of the 24 who had been classified as idiots. "I wonder though, which of you four thinks he has a shot at getting Aurora, you can have it if you can get past me," Alaric said. The twenty paused and waited for orders from behind. Everyone in the crowd had only one thought " Too arrogant". What did a no name like him think he could do to their idols. He even did not have the slightest of cultivation to begin with. And who did he think he was to hold Aurora's love choice in his hands. He even deserved to get all his limbs severed.

"You are too arrogant you know that? But that will only bring your downfall. A no name like you trying to raise himself above nobles? I will destroy you and show Aurora what real power is," James said as he went forward. James was a fire elementalist of the first grade and was already in the second stage. His parents had given him meridian nurturing pill that helped him open all his meridians fast. He raised his hands halfway and a small fire orb appeared.

" He is a First Grade..."

"The other guy is dead..."

"You should not dare mess with nobles..."

"His fault was being too arrogant..."

"I knew that James would act..." That was a lady who said these words her hands clasped together.

"He is flawless..." One could hear the murmurs and this further motivated James. He was going to prove what a man he was.

"I give you only one chance pretty boy, step aside and I will let you go after you kowtow three time with your pants off," James spoke.

"He's so cool..."

"We love you James..." The murmurs continued. These motiveted James and it did not seem like it had any effect on the guy.

"What a man you are. What if I give you the same terms so that you don't embarass yourself?" Alaric spoke and this made James sneer as he threw the fire ball at him.

"Consider this as me showing a no name like you mercy," James said as they watched the fireball flying towards Alaric. Alaric wondered which was the best way to counterattack. He could dodge or just protect himself with a lightning dome. Dodging would be effective but his friends were behind and they were still in the first stage so they would have it difficult to defend themselves. This left him only with the second option. Though he too was in the second stage, he had not filled a single meridian on his own yet.

The fireball was stopped by a lightning dome. Though, it had been destroyed and Alaric had been pushed a few steps back.

"You actually have an element, this will only make it more fun. It wouldn't be fighting a no element bastard," James said as he charged. He formed a fire sword and struck the ground as a flame charged burning the grass in its path. This was the first time Alaric was going to fight a being with intelligence. His friends had taken steps back when they realized that he had used his element to protect them. Alaric always said one thing in his mind. If anyone forced him to use his lightning, he would make sure to defeat him in an instance. Under everyone's gaze, Alaric disappeared.

They all saw a streak but buy the time they had bearing of what was happening, he was already infront of James. James was caught off guard as everyone watched the fist that was incoming. James did not bother to defend too much because he knew that since it was not laced with any element, it was not going to have any damage. Dis that fool think that thta attack was anything to an elementalist? The most he could feel was a slight pain. Well he did feel a slight pain but the next moment he felt his body leave the ground. There was also a salty taste in his mouth as he squirted blood from his mouth. He was then accompanied by a pain he had not felt before. He landed next to the other three and fell unconscious. One could see the torn robe at both the front and behind.

"Did I put too much strength?" Alaric asked absent mindedly as he looked at his fist. Everyone heard him. His words were clear to all. He had tried to minimize his strength but had failed. What everyone had in mind was the fact that he used just one attack to defeat James. It was not even an elemental attack to start with. Some had to confirm as they subconsciously spoke.

"Just one?" They asked and the others just nodded. It should be known that little emphasis was placed on body cultivation. Body cultivators were even extinct because as one's cultivation progressed, it would also strengthen their body so as to match their cultication level.

It was said that body cultivators could sometimes have their physical strength a stage ahead of their cultivation. The most dedicated ones could have their physical strength two stages ahead. The first instinct was to look at Alaric once again. Even his friends had to look at him differently. Was he a body cultivator? That was all that could explain why he had defeated James with a single blow. James's men hurried to him and gave him a recovery pill as the other three wondered if they should step forward and prove that they were capable. One thing about the body cultivators was that they were feared. A body cultivator of the same stage in energy cultivation but several stages ahead in physical strength was undefeatable. It was like facing a beast. A beast of the first stage could even defeat those of thrid stage due to their strength and tough skins. Body cultivators could also be classified as beasts.

"My terms remain, if you think you have a chance at getting past me, you can get a chance to speak to her and have your shot," Alaric spoke making his stand between Aurora and the three.

"Still arrogant?" Everyone thought.
