Prologue: The Night It Began

If only you didn't take me that day, i too should've been become like them. A pitiful creature called slave, a tools of war or a tools of pleasure if it's a girl. You give me a place to shelter from the storm, the foods to warm myself, and the loves that i lost. No matter what they said about you, i'm sure that you save me not because of pity but kindness.

Meyr 7, 245 I.C

"Guess this much is good enough for now"

After putting my pen on the ink bottle, i rest my back to the chair i sat while gazing to the night sky outside of the window. Countless stars blinking and forming a sea, a sea called the Astarials by the ancients, with the great moon Arvias and it's 7 children they watch over us as the gods of this realm or should i said the gods believed in here. When i saw the light crystal hanging above the window began to dim, it's time for me to go to my bed and sleep.

Taking the lantern beside me, whom was filled with a light crystal whose shine is bright enough for me to see and write i stand from my chair and bring it with me. Though the corridor is lighted with the same crystal it is only enough to scare the darkness away and barely enough to light the way for someone that awake this late.

"I hope father won't mad, when i told him that i want to become an adventurer rather than a knight or mistress of some noble."

As i walk throught the corridor to my room, i found a room that was still lit with light. The door is slightly opened and the light comes out from the gap of the door.

It's unusual for father to still working this late. Should i check it or not? Or is it a spy send by enemy country? No, i should not thinking like this

After clearing my thoughts from straying too far. I decided to check my father's study just in case that what i feared is happened. Though i don't bring anything with me, what was told by my father and instructor knight should have enough to deal with any kind of enemy lurking in the capital. And so, i opened the door with caution and enter father's study.

As i entered the room a blinding light force me to cover my eyes, it was so sudden that i let go the lamp i hold and grabbed the sword that aren't even on my hips. Realizing that there's nothing in my hand i decided to stay vigilant and ready for anything that comes out later.

After the light faded what appeared before me is my father and little sister facing each other with a wand on both hands. It seems they're practicing magic just now. After a while they sheated their wand and face me. Father showed a preplexed face while my little sister ran unto me with happy expression drawn on her face.

"Big sis!!! Look!! Look!! Father teach me a new magic just now"

Seeing her so happy while showing the magic that she learned to me, makes me unconsciously smile and pat her in the head.

"Hehehehe... Now i too can be help big sis Lia and big brother Reiz."

"Un, you sure learn fast Eyr, maybe you'll take over us in just a few years if you learn and practice diligently. But, do you know what time is it now?"

"Umm… it's time to sleep?"

"That's right, or you want to miss the ceremony tomorrow."

"Muu… I want to practice more with father and big sis. But, ok I don't want to miss the ceremony either. Well, good night father good night big sis."

"Good night"

After she left, father opened his mouth after putting his wand on the table.

"Lia, I'm sorry…"

That night my world shattered in an instant.
