Kieran stood outside Duke Seymour's mansion, an unfathomable expression taking over his face. Focusing his mind and ears on the mansion, he attempted to search for his beloved, hoping to find her here.
Although he believed Micah when he revealed the truth about Irene being Duke Seymour's daughter, he still wanted to confirm it himself. He still came to see her, his heart unable to stay calm until he saw her.
Kieran heard quite a few voices from the mansion. But none of them were Irene's. So, he pushed further and continued searching for her when he suddenly stiffened before his eyes narrowed.
'I cannot do what you told me to.' He heard a young female speak to someone. Although he did not wish to eavesdrop on their conversation, her words somehow forced him to stay put and listen to them.
'Why? Did we not plan this out weeks ago? How can you go back at the last moment?'
