District M

How could he ever forget that place. District M! The same place that ended his childhood, the same place that took his family away from him, the same place his beautiful home was destroyed, the same place where his entire life was turned upside down. Indeed he's come to despise that place. The mere mention of it make his head spin and his stomach churn.

The same could be said for his friend Damien. They'd both met when they were at their lowest points in life.

Like Deven, Damien's life was also a living hell for his family was taken away from him by those blood sucking demons where he ended up with a group of terrorists whose treatment towards him was anything but kind. They'd beat and starve him until he became weak and limp. They'd lock him in a room until he could cry and weep no more.

Macedonia!

This was the place where both their lives were ruined.

After the disappearance of his father, Deven was left all alone in the orphanage. He could barely eat or drink anything as he led a life of isolation. No one, absolutely no one wanted to speak to him as they all felt he was bad luck. Children often bullied him calling him a coward and insulting him which he couldn't take for long. At night he always ended up weeping and cursing his fate. He rued and dreaded the day his father had left him for that was the worse day of his life.

At the orphanage he'd been picked on by some of the others who were stronger than him. They'd hit him and curse him to a point he couldn't bear it anymore and ended up sick in the hospital for days.

"Who is he?"he heard someone ask.

"Ha! He's a new kid. So weak am I right? Such a coward." Mocked one of the boys at the orphanage who had come to pick on Deven.

"Hey professor feisty, what's the matter? Aren't you gonna say anything to us? I must say, though he's new, he sure does have an attitude."A boy who looked at least 20 inches taller than him spoke.

Deven looked up upon hearing his voice. "Please leave me alone." He whispered.

"Oh wow, are you bossy! Come on guys let's leave him alone." He said laughing hard.

Before Deven could get why they were all laughing he got a hit on the head. The older boys kicked and hit him to no end. He got beaten to a point where he couldn't feel his limbs. He'd ended up in hospital with a few broken limbs where he'd been put in casts, braces and so on.

The mere thought of his childhood still sends shivers down his spine as when his bones had healed, he'd escaped from the orphanage only to be met by something much worse. He was kidnapped by a child trafficking group to be sold out of the country and that was where he met They both became best of friends and shared everything together. Damien had told Deven of how he'd ended up in the clutches of the trafficking gang.

He was sold to the gang by his aunt and uncle who had tortured and maltreated him after the death of his parents in the hands of the vampire. He had other siblings but couldn't turn to them as they've all turned to the dark side. They'd been transformed by the vampires and he felt safe no more as they all became thirsty for his blood. That was when his uncle and aunt had taken him in. Unknown to him they didn't do so because they cared for him but they did it for the sole purpose of selling him for a few dollars. He'd felt his life turn from worse to tragic as the treatment he'd received in the hands of the trafficking group had been nothing but kind.

The children at the trafficking establishment all apperead skinny as there was a little bit of flesh which covered their bones due to inadequate meals they received at the establishment. They all looked like bones as the meal given by the group was never enough for the children there.

A child who had been brave enough to request for more food was badly tortured and beaten up to set an example for them. The day where they were to be shipped out of the country finally arrived and both Deven and Damien dreaded this day because they'd heared from the others how children who were bought from the trafficking gang were badly treated and abused by their owners. This made Deven wish he'd never escaped from the orphanage to begin with as now he'd come to meet a fate much worse.
