Prologue

"When will my suffering ends? I feel too weak and helpless." A man crying on his sickbed contemplating his wasted life. That was the last word that anyone can hear from him.

Alan, 28 years old. He spent 18 years of his life bedridden, trying to fight the disease called "common variable immunodeficiency" that staves off his life expectancy.

His looks is about an above average of what an East Asian descent despite coming from the Southern East of Asia. Brown headed, Brown eyes, Pale-ish skin with the hint of a little yellow and brown mixed together, and a physique of a fit adult man. A guy like him would be considered lucky for his looks but he considers it as a curse.

Lost both of his parents at the age of 4, an unlucky number for East Asian culture, who both died on a plane accident from the incident no one ever expected it. But he was grateful that his foster parents are welcoming and he was accepted as their child of their own.

Alan's life was good until some several years later when his uncle, Dr. Hoo who is now his dad, found out that Alan was born with a genetic disease with almost incurable possibility rate that was just triggered after he became 10 years old. He was brought to the hospital to get treated.

Because Alan was hospitalized, he realize he need to do something to kill time, that's why he requested to his foster parents to buy books for him to read. Time after time, he wants to read more books, he became obsessive to knowledge of all kinds. More years later, he started to write books but his uncle, Dr. Hoo, his foster father didn't allow him to write because he might be restless and his room is already full of books that he dumped. Later, Dr. Hoo decides to gift to Alan, a laptop and a tablet, as a present to his adopted kid.

"This is the great present I received! Thank you very much Uncle!"

Alan was so happy on his presents received by his foster father, thanks to Dr. Hoo, he can read and write books to the fullest as his hearts content without worrying about filling up the entire room.

Within those 18 years, he only spend time for something he could only enjoy, to read various books and to write memorable novels. He became a known novel writer under an anonymous name that nobody even knows it's meaning. Specifically, he like to read every books available on the internet. He use all of the knowledge he knew to create the best novel that humanity never seen. But he stays quiet about his real identity with the fear of being used by the greedy companies.

But the fated day is coming near. Alan's doom is imminent. 9:47 in the morning, he was rushed through the ER ward by the doctors including Dr. Hoo to resuscitate him.

Alan slowly losing consciousness, he felt very weak, he can't speak or hear anything, and he can't feel his body anymore. He is now in the process of dying.

"Even though I'm a kind of being too greedy, I don't feel like I had to regret everything. Mom, Dad, my little sister Altina... and my real Mom and Dad, the nurses who took care for me, Mrs. Miriam, Ms. Sana, and Mr. Jakob, I'm happy that I met you guys. I lived a happy life, at least. Thank you very...m..u..ch". Alan said those words in his mind while his consciousness fades away to the darkness.

The doctors tried their best to revive Alan but he is beyond saving because his disease is too severe to cure. It was the day that he passed away.

Alan's foster parents, relatives, friends, fans who found out his identity, and Ms. Sana, who secretly has feelings to him, mourns his passings. He was remembered and revered as the best person ever existed for those who know him.
