The English activity...

!! FEW DAYS LATER !!

Both Rita and Samuel were now very good friends , although not as close as best friends but quite happy in each other's company .

The time for the first formative assessment was around the corner and all the subject teachers were nudging and instructing students to get themselves prepared for the exam as well as academic projects and assignment activities for additional marks .

Being the kind of best school as it was , St. Xavier's Schools chain made it to the top with its years of ground discipline and making English language among Chinese and some other country linguistics a common language to share . The school campus made it a compulsory rule to speak in English on the campus leading to themselves earning a lot attention and applause from around the city .

Somehow , this made it one of the elite schools for the elite students to com e through . But the school also had several unprivileged students too who could study at lower fee through special scholarship .

Anyways , Rita had the best command over English , probably in her whole class and Samuel was just a bit above mediocre in this aspect . So when the English teacher asked them to be ready for the activity where each student had to prepare for the speech topic assigned to them , Samuel was a bit nervous and quite un confident while on the other hand , Rita was as excited and enthusiastic as ever .

Getting nervous for speeches in front of a large number of people was quite nerve wrecking activity in itself .

So when Samuel saw her carefree look he couldn't help but asked in curiosity ,

" Hey Rita !! Don't you feel nervous about this activity ? "

Rita - " Nah !! In fact , I'm just a lot excited for it . I'm looking forward to the day of our activity turn . "

Samuel - " No - ... I mea ... mean that don't you feel a bit nervous when you have go speak in front of so many people ?

Aren't you afraid that you would stutter at every short period and won't be able to carry on due to nervousness? Or aren't you afraid that people might laugh at you , if you end up messing your speech in mid way . "

Rita - " Why are you asking such questions ? Why would I be nervous for such a thing and why would I be laughed upon even if I stutter by chance . After all it's just human nature to make mistakes and moreover , there's not really anyone so perfect that they won't take a moment to think a bit , if they forget their part .

Don't tell me you're afraid and have stage fear !! "

Samuel - " Who - ... who sa ... said that I ...I have stage fear ?? Don't speculate and run your mind errands like that . You are .. just over thinking . Just answer my question ... "

Rita , on seeing his flustered look was so amused that she couldn't help but burst out into a fit of laughter . Samuel was now feeling very shy and wanted to

dig himself into a hole .

' Was he too obvious ? How could she tell just by looking at his face that he's having stage fear and be shamelessly laughing at him . I'm so mad . I won't talk to her now '

Samuel thought to himself as he settled himself down and puffed up his cheeks .

Rita , on the other hand had to clutch her stomach in pain as wiped the imaginary tears off her eyes . She now sought to think of ways of helping Samuel cope up with his stage fear . But she was again on the verge of laughter when she saw his puffed up cheeks in anger .

" Aww !!! So cute !! How I wish I could pull your cheeks , Samuel !! "

, said Rita as she attempted to pull his cheeks but was neglected and totally ignored by Samuel .

The other girls in class , just saw their exchange of words with strange looks . some girls were almost burnt to ashes while others were on the verge of burning . Some even had that look – ' See how lucky she is . '

The boys just scoffed at Samuel for him being the centre of attention and them being the centre of nothing .

So when the boys got to know of one weakness about Samuel , most of them jumped with joy as they made sarcastic comments over him .

" Aww .. see girls . Your favourite star is actually nervous of such a small project . "

One of the boys spoke up .

" So what , are you trying to say that you are very confident for the same ? " Another girl piped in .

" Yeah .. so , why don't you give us some attention too ? We are also boys and no less than him . "

Second boy spoke his mind as he looked over at a girl with an idiotic grin but was instantly swatted in the arm by her .

Another one just chimed in and nodded in approval . The girls and boys of the class , got into a heated discussion about Samuel being best and worse or perfect and imperfect .

Boys were constantly trying to get the girls on their sides while some girls were just ash burnt , while others were involved in heated discussion , trying to take Samuel's side .

Rita and Samuel , however didn't pay any mind to the nuisance discussion going on about them .

Rita was slowly getting used to being stared at or having her head being bored with holes of jealousy from girls , while Samuel was already accustomed to girls fan - girling over him , whom he paid no mind .

But Rita was again bought back to the present condition , when she realised that Samuel had stopped talking to her . He was still sitting there on his seat with a sad and upset expression . Rita was set in a trance as she looked at his side profile .

He looked handsome even when he was clearly angry . Its seems like he has come out of a beautiful painting . if only I had a camera , I would have loved to capture this cute moment . It would have definitely helped me in the future , by having threatened him with this .

Rita was thinking devilishly with two imaginary on her head , but she was pulled out soon when Samuel was still unresponsive to her calling him .

Some girls who noticed it , were happy while others didn't bother . Rita started to panic as she thought ,

' Oh gosh !! Have I angered him for real or what ? What should I do now ? '

Rita was now stuck in dilemma as she was thinking what to do to dissipate his anger and then talk to him properly .
