Chapter 13: Not Again

(MC's POV)

(I wasn't able to change anything.)

Things are just going according to the story. All Might is critically injured and going under surgical procedure in the hospital, and All for One escaped.

I was taken by the Pro Heroes to police station headquarters with my hands handcuffed.

Sitting in the middle of the white room with a police interrogating me about my identity.

The police showed me some papers taken from the orphanage.

"This is your real identity, right? Fujiwara Ichika, living in a orphanage in Musutafu. Your parents are unknown or missing. You're quirk is... it's written here that you're quirkless and your age is 9 years old."

"Yeah, everything written there is right."

"Let me ask you again! Are you really Captain Falcon?"

"No."

The police slammed his hand on the table.

*Bam!*

"Liar! A lot of Pro Heroes saw you transformed!"

"Then don't ask me if you already know."

"You're getting into my nerves, kid!"

I just shrugged my shoulders and grinned,

"I want to say 'Yes, I'm Captain Falcon' but not anymore. Regardless of what I do, I can never able to transform back into that form again. Captain Falcon is good as dead after I took that damage from the Villain Boss. I'm just nothing now but a quirkless orphan child."

...

The police took the papers on the table then silently left the room.

*Sigh*

Sighing in relief from being interrogated, I smiled.

"The stage is yours, Rumi. I'll leave everything to you. Please come back safely."

I just closed my eyes and decided to sleep.

Waking up as I slowly opened my eyes,

...

I was still in the interrogation room while being watch from the other side.

*Yawn*

As I yawn,

"I'm hungry... How can they let a innocent child here starve to death. Should I bust myself out of here? It's not like they can do against me anyway. If they continue treating me like this, they should know who are they messing with and face consequences."

I snapped the handcuff in my wrist and took it off like nothing.

"These handcuffs are just like spoons I bent and snap at home."

(I'm just like insane person talking to no one.)

I just leaned back on my seat and wait.

Several minutes later,

*Click* *Bam!*

I heard the door opened loudly.

"Hm?"

(Who is it this time?)

"Wait! You can't enter this room!"

"Hero Mirko! I warned you! You can't--"

I saw Rumi entering the room with force while the police are trying to stop her.

"Oh, Captain Falcon! I've been looking for you!"

"Stop calling me that! I'm not Falcon anymore."

Rumi entered the room and the police wasn't able to stop her.

"You can still use Captain Falcon's abilities, right?"

I noticed that there's a blood bleeding out of her forehead.

"Yeah... Anyway, how was it? Did you get him?"

...

She became silent for few seconds then her expression turned into someone frustrated.

"Tsk! Damn! He escape! I caught most of his subordinates and Nomus but they were able to slip him away. I'm sorry, Ichika. Your plan of catching him and all of his subordinates in their main hide out failed because of me."

Feeling dejected,

"... It's fine, Rumi. I'm already glad you returned safely."

"Also, Ichika. I..."

Rumi placed something on the table and it was my phone with completely broken screen.

She looks regretful of it.

Just in case that All for One escaped, I sneakily planted a tracking device on his clothes. Even he escaped from us, we can find his main base and raid the place, catching him together the rest of his subordinates.

Since I was arrested by the police and Pro Heroes and taken to custody, I pass my phone to Rumi and made her track All for One and his main base of operation on her own. I believe that she chooses right decision on how to deal with the remaining villains.

"I was too excited fighting the horde of villains that I accidentally gripped hard your phone in my hand."

"Huh?"

I froze from what she said.

"Hahaha! That was really fun, Ichika. I sent all of them flying."

Staring at her with squinted eyes as I became disappointed of her.

"But you broke my phone. I just bought them few days ago together with the tracking devices and they're quite expensive. How many times do I have to remind you to be careful to not break things?!"

I grabbed both of her cheek and pinched them hard.

"Ouch! Ichika! I'm really sowy!"

"Hey! Stop it, you two!"

A police came between us and separate the two of us.

*Sigh*

I sighed as I sat back on seat, leaning.

"Nevermind, did you raid the place by yourself again?"

Rumi look away from me,

"Well... I forgot. I was in hurry that I went there by myself."

"You should request some back up from other pro heroes, you silly head! The people are paying them with their tax money. If they kept being unreliable like that, people's faith in heroes will be completely shattered, resulting a big crisis in this country. Seriously, what are they doing?"

"Oh, what a interesting conversation you're having there."

Suddenly, someone spoke from the entrance of the room.

"Looks like, you understand being a hero at your age. Who would thought that the famous Vigilantes, Captain Falcon was just an elementary school child. This will bring shame to a lot of Pro Heroes."

*Sigh*

"To tell you the truth, I never really considered myself as a hero. I was just bounty hunter who hunts criminals with big bounties on their head. Normal citizens of this country are the one who gave me that title. Good grief, I wasn't really acting heroic at all."

Glancing at the door,

"Huh?"

I saw no one standing there.

"Below here, Falcon."

Looking down,

"You're!"

I saw a stout man who appears to be a possible combination of several different animals, including a dog, a mouse, and a bear, which would make him a chimera. He has the head of a mouse with circular black eyes, a large scar over the right one, relatively rectangular-shaped ears with pale pink insides slanting outwards from the top of his head, and an elongated muzzle with a small round nose. His fur is white and has large, dog-like paws with pink pads and a thin tail like that of a cat.

He sports a white dress shirt, a dark red tie around his neck, a black double-breasted waistcoat and matching dress pants. He wears orange lace-up sneakers with incredibly thick soles which seem to be quite large on him.

"What is the principal of U.A. Highschool doing here?"

"That's right. It's me, Nezu, the one who could be a dog or a mouse or a bear, but more importantly... I'm the principal!"

"I haven't done any mischief at your school? In the first place, I'm not a student of your school. Why are you here to reprimand me? Just send me straight up into the jail!"

I don't really understand why I'm afraid of being brought to the principal office for no reason. It felt like a judgement will fall to me in the court.

"Send you to jail? We can't do that! You're a nine year old child and all we can do is to reprimand you."

"But Captain Falcon is supposed to be an old man. Also, there's also supposed a big bounty on his head." I pointed above my head.

"Yeah, you're right about that. But... after learning about your real identity, your supposed to be your bounty in your head as Captain Falcon will be nulled. All the Vigilantes deeds you've done until now will be counted as child pranks."

"Oh, I see..."

"Now, I understand why you can't become a pro hero despite your popularity. Ever since your appearance 8 years ago, the number of crimes drops significantly even more. All Might's burden as the symbol of peace got lessen a lot. You appeared a lot during the night which gives All Might longer rest."

Well, the adults made us sleep during the day and I can only do bounty hunting jobs during the night.

"Unfortunately, I can't transform anymore as Captain Falcon. That form is good as dead."

"But you're still alive, right? The real Captain Falcon."

"Yeah..."

"All Might's operation was success and he's still recovering but he won't be that strong anymore as when he was still in his prime. Him, being the symbol of peace is slowly fading as more times passed by. Someday, he will retire and we'll lose that symbol."

Feeling annoyed as I frowned to the principal.

"Just tell me straight! What do you really want?!" I asked with angry.

"It's simple, Falcon. I want you to be that next symbol and replace All Might when he retires someday."

(Me? The new symbol of peace? It's troublesome.)

I just smiled at the principal,

"Of course, I refuse!"

Rumi beside me was completely shock with my answer.

"Ichika, you don't want to become a pro hero?!" she stood up.

"No, I will take Hero License Exam and become Pro Hero, but being the symbol of peace? Sounds like a pain in my ass. Just give it to Endeavor or anyone. I want to have a goodnight sleep."

"Okay..."

Rumi sat back on her seat.

"Then when your internship comes someday, make sure you go to my place!"

"Yeah, yeah. I have much more experience than you with hero work so it might be turned other way around."

"What did you just say?!"

Rumi became angry.

"I'll teach you how to not break things."

"Ugh!"

She took a critical damage.

"Ichika, are you still angry about your phone?"

I looked away from her.

"Hey! Please forgive me already!"

While I'm quarreling with Rumi.

"Oh, that's right, Falcon!"

Glancing back to the principal who took out some papers.

"We found out that you're a orphan who's parents are missing."

"Yeah, what now?"

"Actually, All Might told me that he'll be adopting you as his child."

"Okay--Wait! What?!"
