The Respite before the Calamity.

"What do you mean by that?" Leonard asked, still confused. 

"What I mean is, your fate, no matter what direction you go will be intertwined with everyone no matter what your choice is."

"Why… why tell me this?"

Yuri sighed, "as I said, your fate intertwines with everyone. There's a reason why I lifted the hypnotism and made your memories clear."

"So…"

"The future is endangered. You should know by now that there are a lot of skirmishes on the border." Yuri explained calmly, his eyes on Leonard silently judging his emotions. "The reason why is because the Demon King is dead."

That's when Leonard suddenly shifted a bit, uncomfortable. That's sensitive information right there, why would Yuri just share it with an 11-year-old child?

"That look, you didn't expect it, didn't you?" Yuri laughed, "Well, the demon king is not dead."

"What?!"

"Yes, it's actually in a coma. The body is alive but the soul is not active." 

Leonard couldn't help but struggle to digest this information, these are all sensitive information. You'd pay a price to hear this. 

"The Calculation I have is that the demon king would rise after 9 years, though I have no idea why."

"Why are you allowing the demon king to live? You have the power to pull souls back from the dead then why allow the demon king to still live? Isn't this irresponsible?" Leonard accused. 

"Well, here's the best part. I'm the chosen one, remember?" Yuri asked and Leonard nodded "I'm water, the demons are the oil. However, it's not because water and oil don't mix. It's the reaction I get. I'm akin to water dropping to a pan filled with hot oil. That doesn't go well."

"Then…"

"If I got close to the demon King which is akin to oil burning in high heat what would happen?"

"Boom?" Leonard asked. 

"Yes, boom." Yuri chuckled, "And not only that. I have to fight the demon king on its territory. I might be the chosen one but I have my limits."

"...So… why still tell all of this to me."

"So you could train under me."

"Huh?!" Leonard said in shock. 

Yuri merely chuckled, amused by Leonard's reaction. "I'll be at the Academy, since you." Yuri tapped Leonard's chest "Leonard. Is a variable at ending all of this Human—Demon fiasco."

Leonard then suddenly felt sleepy "But of course, I'll tell you more later." and closed his eyes. 

Leonard then woke up sitting on his PC, unaware of the discussion he had. "Oh yeah shit!" Leonard looked outside and forgot that he was working with his new app. 

Whistler, an app like Twitter, Youtube and Tumbler all combined. His anticipation for the app made him ask Yula for an opinion. 

"Yula?"

"Hmm…" instead of a Hello, Yula responded with a hum. 

"Yula?"

"Ah, nothing, it's just you called me first…"

Leonard chuckled "What, were you not messaging me because you wanted me to message first?"

"Wha— no! I uh… am busy."

"That makes the both of us. Here check out what I made."

Leonard took a pic of his newly created app, the logo is just a starting image since this is still in development, and no developer would not put beta testing. 

"What does this app do?" Yula asked curiously. 

"I plan for an official video viewing site. This is it."

Leonard soon sent a link to a video of the site, it looks so similar to youtube. 

"Oh, wow. This is… very simple."

"Of course it's simple. The more you add the more straining for the eyes. This isn't live viewing."

Leonard and Yula spoke to each other more and Leonard further discussed the details. In the end, Leonard told Yula that he'll hand it over to her to see things. 

"I don't think my team could handle that!" Yula complained. 

"You don't have to do anything, hire people."

"Eh…"

"Besides, if this goes well, online hiring could be easier."

"Really?"

"Yeah, I mean, think about it, a video about hiring, links and stuff. As long as there is a massive platform for them to go things would become easier."

"Hmm… right. I'll be there for a moment."

Yula hung up and so did Leonard. He has things to do as well. Time to visit his sister. 

Leonard walked down the hallways, his posture better than ever. Once he got to his destination he was met with a mahogany door. 

Before he knocked he could hear some words he thought he would never hear. 

"Argh! That guy is so annoying!"

The one who spoke in an irritated tone was Lorraine. Followed up by Lenneza laughing. 

"Sister help me!"

"Stay on the island Lori! They're pros!"

Leonard could tell they were playing Cubecraft, and Lenneza might be too distracted to know Leonard was at the door, regardless he knocked. 

"Come in!"

Leonard came in and as he expected, Lorraine was busy tapping the mouse and the thunderous noise of keyboard clicking raged in his ears. 

Lenneza was also playing on a laptop. Too busy to look at Leonard. He sighed, it seems that they were too busy. But anyways, he just wanted to check on them so nothing bad. 

He went on his way leaving the two to play their games, instead, he'll just get himself a snack since he has been working on that app anyways. 

He got himself a sandwich to eat, and whilst he was eating he checked his system. 

"System, my points"

'Nice' Leonard skimmed at the things he could buy, one of the things he wanted to buy is a dimensional pocket.

Leonard learned that even if the demon king is dead the plot still goes on even with its sick alteration. He had to be ready for the worst just like in the academy. 

The next plot would be the 'Academy tournament'. Several noble children would fight in this event and there's a good winning item.

The emblem is quite OP, it doubles the damage that the user outputs, but that's not what makes it OP, it stacks with other items. Most of the time items only multiply the owner's damage. Nothing else. 

But the Emblem would not only do that, but it would also multiply the damage to inanimate objects, be it a vase, a bat, or even a gun. 

The reason why Leonard thought of [Dimensional pocket] to buy is that he will steal this. Not because he wanted to steal, but to be cautious, if this falls to terrorists only God would know what kind of weapon would they attach it to. 

He already knows that the empire is already becoming too careful because of them, but it doesn't hurt to be cautious. After Leonard finished his snack he went back to his room and grabbed his phone. 

"Should I go dive today…?"

The Marchen family had a lot of territory on its hands, in fact, the reason why other duchies are so salty is because of the Marchen family. 

The Marchens have complete control of its territory and its lands, unlike most territory which is controlled by other companies. Well that's mostly thanks to Richard, who placed his stress at doing business. 

Thanks to that, Richard has complete control on dungeons on the Territory, aside from him. The Mercenary and Gatherer guilds are the two most competing associations trying to get as much dungeon entrance as possible. 

"Oh well might as well get myself permission."

In order to completely win that tournament, Leonard would make sure to be so strong, stronger than he is now, to absolutely get his way. He is tired of all human troubles much less when it comes to demons. 

Aside from grabbing his phone, Leonard also grabbed a brief case under his bed, this suitcase contains a few things. A portable battery, camping kit, and a converter charger. The converter charger is just mana to electricity and vice versa. 

He plans to go for a camping trip for a few days, just as he went out of his room and to Richard's office he was stopped by a servant. 

"Ssss-sir. Y—young ma-mast—"

The voice sounded wet and sickly, when Leonard looked at the servant his head was twitching and his mouth was opened to a degree that it wasn't possible. 

A circle, a formation was etched to the roof of the servant's mouth, his head filled with black worms. 

'Black magic!'

Leonard shouted internally, but he could not fight back. His body disappeared, and so did the servants. Leaving a gory mess.
