No logic in Love

(Inside the secret organization building of EIS - Erriador Intelligence Services)

A tall built man walks past the occupied employees, heading linearly toward a certain modern door situated at the end of the hallway.

He knocks twice on the door. A groggy deep voice says, "Come in.''

The man enters inside and stands in a poised manner parallel to the man in his fifty's, sat on a comfortable synthetic leather high chair.

"Boss you called?" The man starts.

Closing the file he was previously engaged in, the expressionless man finally gazes up at him.

"Yes, Agent Ace, your leader is unreachable since he's on his break." The middle aged man sighs taking off his glass.

"There's a mission for your team to complete." He informs.

"May I know the details Boss?" Agent Ace inquires, attempting to not sound too bored.

"It's important and challenging. So I need my best agents to take on this mission." He remarks.

The Boss named De Klerk (Codenamed Elk) clicks his tongue annoyed by one of his top Spy, demanding breaks out of the blue and infuriating the higher ups.

Most of all he had a great ability. But was hell of a Wild Man!

Never to fall in line and be in control.

Their organization did not lack of all the superior agents. Nonetheless, Czar was eminent at what he does above all. But for his field of job, he was being too free and careless.

The organization could just bow and sway their anger giving in to his ultimatum. For they do not wish to lose a fine soldier.

"Leader Czar is on hiatus. It's impossible to get him take on a mission." Ace reacts unsure.

"That is the reason, I need you to go and coax him face to face. Mention the pay and he'll give in." The boss strikes back.

"He will not. You know it Boss." The guy reasons.

"He has to." Mr De Klerk sternly states.

"I need your team to go and reason the seriousness of this mission." He explains.

"Do I know the target involved?" Ace asks critically.

"Raka, he's planning something terrifying."

(Library of Vernila University)

Neva is seated on a lone table close by a huge window, concealed on the end most of the hall. Concentrating on studying for her upcoming exams.

Suddenly she hears faint knocks coming from the window. Startled and blaming her imagination she still looks sideways.

The moment she realises the scene her eyes almost barges out the sockets.

There, Rhett moronically hangs, his hands clutched on the window sill.

Neva quickly escapes her traumatized state.

Moving fast, she opens the window.

His legs lands him inside very smoothly.

She looks around, thankfully no one noticed.

And the place she chose was closed of, evading security camera.

Cradling her forehead in anguish she scolds him in a hushed voice.

"What the hell is wrong with you Rhett!!"

"I missed you." The guy smiles, childishly.

Neva glares at him, fuming in anger. Unfortunately, it had zero affect on him.

"It's freaking fourth floor, how the hell did you even climb up?" She crosses her arms over the chest.

"It was super easy though!" Rhett claims nonchalantly, leaning down on the window sill. Neva examines him for any injuries. This fool seems to be alright.

"I swear Rhett, you'll be the end of me!"

Sitting herself down, she exhales worn out, her palm on her forehead. Rhett places himself on the seat parallel to her's.

"Why are you here?" Neva asks agitated.

"I missed you Angel...Terribly!" The guy repeats grinning, his pupils dilating in giddy of finally being in her presence.

Neva inhales and exhales deeply calming herself. At this point he will have her expelled from the University.

"What if a time comes where you won't see me for lifetime? Would you even kill for me?!"

Rhett's face hardens at her statement. "I can die for you Neva, killing is nothing."

He gazes at her deeply, as if he endeavours to penetrate her soul.

"But you're the one I will live for."

Neva observes him, astonished of his romantic tactics. Nevertheless, she'ss too annoyed to play with him.

"Stupid!" She counters back.

"You know I love you. How long would you keep me waiting? Just be my Lover!"

Rhett complains, playfully, painfully with a serious face.

Neva chuckles, feeling her heart skip a beat.

'Hah! An i love you so casually? Cruel!!'

"Tell me...what do you really want? You claimed to like me the moment we met, and now you love me? I'm really in lack of certainty of your proposals." Neva rashly words out. Unknown to the heart string of his that broke.

"You don't have the right to question my feelings Neva." His jaw clenches, his eyes darkening.

"Don't belittle my affection!" He states irately.

Neva widens her eyes, taken aback by his harsh tone. He never talked this way before. Guess she got too cursory.

It's just the man harboured lack of patience. It's a miracle how patient and calm he was with Neva.  She doubted his boundless feelings for her.

When...Neither sound nor gesture would be able to confess the way Neva's presence enflames his being.

"How am I supposed to trust you Rhett?

You know nothing about me, I know nothing about you." Her eyes dims, mistrustfull of him.

"Heck! We don't even know our surnames."

Neva chuckles bitterly.

"Is love supposed to be this clueless and visionless? Even disregard the basic thing called logic?" Neva meets his eyes, her own drowning in abyss of hesitation.

"It's not supposed to be visionless or clueless Neva. Love is supposed to discern.

Make way, let you through...and take you home." Rhett reveals.

"And sure there's no logic in love." He chuckles.

Neva peers at him hoping to see past him translucently and learn him.

This man who goes on about wishing being with her. She would be lying to herself had she said she felt indifferent.

Neva feels indistinguishable, similar to the way he feels she assumes.

Nevertheless, she herself somehow couldn't discern the wordless feeling one wasn't able to voice out.

'What's this sensation supposed to mean.. and word as?'

"If you wanted to know my last name couldn't you ask directly? What's this about indirectly coaxing me to ensure you concerning my love for you." Rhett smirks swiftly switching back to his goofy self trying to lighten up the tense aura seeing how lost Neva seemed.

Neva bewildered fumes.

"Nonsense!! See you know nothing about me!!" She starts nagging him again.

"My little angry angel. Let me introduce myself. My name is Rhett Lei. You are miss??" Rhett forwards his hand, waiting for Neva's answer.

"Are we doing this now?" Neva raises an eyebrow. The man nods impatient.

"I'm Neva Mae. Nice to meet you Mr. Rhett Lei." Beaming Neva forwards her hand and shakes her hand with his, playing along with Rhett.

"Be mine Neva Mae." The guy starts afresh.

This time Neva flicks his forehead.

"Oww!!"

And just like that, they were back to normal.

Neva still found it hard to open up to him.

He'a conscious, he's too much of a stranger for her to trust and accept him as the other half.

The world we live in had betrayed the chastity of the heart and disparaged the love afterall. There remained almost no sprinkles of heartfelt love and romance hovering the spirits anymore.

A world without Love? What is that kind of World even...

All he could do is wait for her to soften and have him a space on her heart. Till then, he's willing to give his everything in a way he could pursue her heart.

He just prays, until then she would still have a vacant space reserved only for him.

And when the day comes, he is sure to love and cherish her like no one else.
