Illusion Is Reality: Gravity Falls

Gravity falls fan wakes up as Bill Cypher, gets OP, other shit. Disclaimer, I do not own Gravity Falls. This fic is inspired by things said by Alex Hirsch, many fanart and fanfics I’ve seen. There will be pop culture references, there will be song lyrics, there will be memes. You have been warned. I wanted to try something different, how well I succeed is up to debate... . . . . . . .

-Endless hall of mirrors-

---

After taking Ford home and how quiet it was to no longer have his cute babbling of questions and notes about everything around him, the Death Star seemed so quiet in comparison. Well, I say quiet but I think Keyhole and Teeth just knocked over the big screen TV in the living room while playing Rocket Ball. The game works by attaching a rocket to a large rubber ball and letting it fly out of control. Then you tried to NOT get hit. Fun game, terrible for my sanity and the health of the building you played it in. I had to leave before I had an anxiety attack over the broken furniture. Also, I think I'm twitching. Best that I left before I ended up losing my shit at those two idiots for playing Rocket Ball inside the house.

I had a brilliant idea!

I could take this time to work on that dimension I now own all by myself! Yeah!

...is what I thought. But I didn't know what to do. Still didn't know how to make time progress aside from Brother's suggestion of killing a Time Beast or something. Well, my powers sometimes did things even when I don't fully understand them… so… maybe if I just let them loose to go wild and do whatever they wanted--

I felt them surge, a giddy feeling of euphoria from being allowed free for once. Shit, kinda felt nice to let them out, let them do whatever. I normally didn't, on account of how dangerous that was. But this was my own dimension. Dad gave it to me, it was mine. And no living people here to get hurt! It was the perfect time for me to go hog wild!

The churning around me stopped. I felt my powers settle down, almost content. It was a wonderful feeling, not used to feeling myself... content. I normally had a tension inside me from holding back my powers all the time.

I looked around to see what had been changed...

[use your imagination for the next parts, think of the most messed up planets that don't make sense -Author]

Oh no.

Oooooh no…..

What just… happened?!

Um…. Ok. So… planets? Kinda? Maybe? That's… a start...

Wait, hang on. What the fuck happened here?!

Uuuuuhhhh this whole place is a mess!

Stupid powers! I let you go free to do what you want and this is what you give me?!

I felt them thrum inside me. It almost felt… smug?

What a bitch.

Oh? Ooooh! Hang on a sec. So, I was trying to patch up the mess by building bridges between the 'planets' to try and see if I could pull them together so it wouldn't be so disjointed, and while I wasn't paying attention, the 'sun' set.

I sat set, but it actually just… rotated around all of these planets. I can see it below me now. Huh. So… I somehow created a universe where the sun revolved around the planets, as opposed to day/night being achieved by the planets rotating around the sun. That's pretty neat!

The planets are pretty small though. Kinda reminds me of little marbles. Also, I think that planet there is made entirely of wood. How that works when there's no water to grow the dang thing, I don't know right now. Seriously, sometimes my powers don't make any sense.

...wait. Right. Yeah, I walked myself right into that one, didn't I?

Anyway, making the planets bigger shouldn't be an issue. All I have to do is add more Mass into them and...

Fuckity fuck fuck!

I meant larger all around! Not just… down!

Eh whatever. It's not… that bad. I wonder if anything would want to live there? I hope. Well, if keep building, maybe life would form someday. Or I would just have to ask Dad for help. Not that I want to, this is my personal project! I mean, I don't exactly have progressive time, but time IS passing, in the sense that things ARE changing. The sun revolves around the universe, the trees grow, the water flows… and...

...and gravity is a lie.

Normally, the gravitational pull of a planet would work to pull you into it's center, allowing you to walk all around it's surface with no issue. But somehow, I fucked that up. There's no gravitational pull from any planet or celestial body here. There's only Up and Down. And if you step off the side of the planet, you fall Down. There's… something here. There's a Down and an Up, with no relation to physics based laws of attraction. The force pulling me down when I went over the side wasn't gravity. As for what exactly it was...

It was Down.

Full stop, this universe had a set rule of [Up] and [Down] and no matter where you were, no matter what sort of forces you should have been experiencing, you only have [Up] and [Down] in terms of involuntary movement through space. You could still walk and jump and move around on the surface of whatever you were standing on, but only on the surface. Only if there was something solid between you and [Down]. Otherwise, you'd just fall.

Water was pulled [Down]. Lava was pulled [Down].

For a second, I thought that perhaps the [Down] was some sort of gravitational pull from the orbiting sun, but it wasn't, otherwise you'd be pulled [Up] as well. But there wasn't anything like that. [Down] was down and that just seemed to be how things worked here.

This was actually not bad, since it meant I could mess with the shapes of all these planets without their own Mass pulling them inward and remaining spherical. I say sphere, but these were actually very lumpy planets. Not that lumpy planets didn't exist. The curvature of the world is more of an implication of smooth-ness than actual symmetry. Planets were lumpy. They all were.

I examined the trees here. It seemed they were based on my memories of trees I knew. I could see Birch and Oak. And Pine as well.

I blinked when it began to rain. There wasn't a cloud in the sky. Rather, this was space. Or rather, the planets weren't floating within a vacuum. All of this 'space' was… here. A place. With air and everything! But no clouds. None that I could see at least. But still, it rained. I help out my hand to catch a few droplets. It was definitely rain. Definitely Water. But… how?

I looked [Up] to see nothing more than an endless sky. Not one single cloud. And yet, rain. I looked down, at the water that poured endlessly from the planets that produced them. Endless amounts of water. It was amazing, I was watching more and more mass generated from what appeared to be nothing. How did I do that? How did my powers do that? It wasn't draining me, I would have felt it if there was continuous denial of nothingness happening here. I peered closer at the water. Endless… not… really. The water that fell [Down] into the void below us was simply… sent back up.

Is that why it rained?

And yet, the planet never ran out of water. I felt the water leave, go [Down] and loop back around to [Up]. It poured down as rain, that also fell into the void that was [Down] and instead of becoming rain again, it reappeared inside the water planet, repeating the cycle once more.

And it didn't rain constantly, only sometimes. The rest of the time, the water just teleported back inside the planet it came from.

Actually, now I've got another puzzle.

There was no [Gravity] here. And Day/Night was formed from the sun itself moving around the whole place. Yet, the pulling effect of [Down] wasn't pulling the planets themselves down. Not all of them at least. I watched some sand spill over the side of a planet and reappear back on top of it, only to spill over again. The only parts of the sand that wasn't continuously falling was the areas where there was another substance below them. I should have realized this much sooner considering I already made that note about how you were forced [Down] unless something solid stood between you and further downward movement.

Certain things were not affected by [Down]. And it was these materials that made up the planets, most of them at least. I winced when the sand spilled off again. Wasn't it tiring to keep pulling yourselve back only to have the forces that run this universe drag you down again?

Eh… I have a lot to think about. I think this is all for today, I will return in a few years to see how the planets are growing and developing in this very odd universe.
