"I didn't know that she would show up" he hissed in pain. 

She scoffed, " and you think that I'm an idiot to believe you?"

He was about to say something when Mae stepped in," he is wounded! at least believe him now."

Kore raised a brow when Matteo agreed," she's right... You say that we aren't to doubt you, but you leave no chance to doubt us. Have we not proven our worth to you by now?" he asked," I had every chance to run, and yet I am here... Mae killed her mother. What more do you want?"

"Do not talk to me that way" she warned, a shudder ran through Mae, but she still spoke.

"This is not what Kore was made for" she stood up," you were supposed to lead us and care for us...like she did"

"Do not talk about her!" Kore exclaimed," You have forgotten your place"

Mae and Matteo turned away and Mae helped him to his room.
