Why Are You So Red Though?

The first dance ended at the arrival of the Darighton empire, and the moment their arrival was announced by the royal announcer, Daphne's heart skipped a bit.

She gazed intently at the huge door, and the instant the door was pushed open, her eyes fell on a young man with brown curly hair and emerald eyes, who stood beside his middle-aged father, who also had brown curly hair but black eyes.

A smile spread across the young man's face, and together with his father, Emperor Sivanor, and his escorts, they walked into the hall and stopped before the throne.

Emperor Sivanor and Emperor Raman bowed to each other in respect while the Crown prince, Yuri Ferghan, bowed to William, who also bowed to him in return with a slight smile on his face.

Prince Yuri shifted his gaze to Daphne and smiled sweetly at her, but his smile slowly faded when he got nothing but a death stare from her.

His lashes blinked in confusion, and feeling someone's heavy stare on him, he slowly turned his head, only for his eyes to meet with Yennefer's eyes.

His brows furrowed in a bit of confusion, not sure why Yennefer was gazing so intently at him, as though she knew him.

He awkwardly averted his gaze from her, and once their presence had been acknowledged, they made their way toward the special seats that were kept just for them.

They sat down, and still feeling Yennefer's heavy look on him, Yuri turned his head to glance at her.

He arched his brow at her and, unable to recall if he had met her somewhere before, he looked away from her, a bewildered expression visible on his face.

"Yuri..." Yennefer whispered his name, unable to believe that it was really him.

He was in this world as well, but... why was he looking at her as though he didn't remember her?

I mean, he was the one that sent her into this world, in this body, so if anything, he should know her.

She thought and looked at him one more time before looking away from him.

"Let the ceremony begin. May her highness, princess Daphne of the Gavaria empire, and his highness, prince Yuri of the Darighton empire, have their first dance."

The announcer announced, and Daphne took a deep breath, knowing that it was time.

She slowly stood up from her throne and, with the help of her personal maid, standing beside her while holding her hand, she gracefully walked down the stairs to the center of the hall to meet Yuri, who was already waiting for her.

"May I have this dance?" Yuri politely asked, and with no emotion on her face, she gave her hand to him and he gently grabbed her waist while she placed her other hand on his shoulder.

The waltz began and they danced together, leaving everyone within the room to stare at them with smiles on their faces.

[Such a perfect match]

Someone within the crowds said, and everyone agreed with him, even the emperor himself.

Yennefer gazed at them, and when she couldn't take it anymore, she stood up from her chair and stormed out of the hall, attracting everyone's attention.

A frown ensued on the emperor's face, and he quickly turned his head to Luthiel.

Luthiel nodded on seeing his signal, and without saying a word, he walked down the stairs and proceeded outside after Yennefer.

He looked around and halted when he saw her seated near the fountain with her head buried in her knees, which were curled up to her chest.

An annoyed expression emerged on his face and he strolled towards her.

"Ahem!" He cleared his throat, and Yennefer slowly raised her head to look at him.

"What is it?" She questioned, and he rolled his eyes at her.

"Go back into the hall." He said to her in the most indifferent tone, and Yennefer gazed at him for a few moments before shaking her head at him.

"I don't want to. Please let me be." She sighed, and Luthiel glimpsed her.

He balled his hands, finding himself unable to force her to go back into the hall.

Something must really be disturbing her for her to be in such a cynical mood, right?

A low breath fled his nose, and without saying a word, he sat down beside her, staring intently at the water fountain.

The urge to ask her what was wrong overwhelmed him, and his hands gripped tightly onto the stone, trying to hold himself back from doing so.

It's not his business and he's not the type of man that does that, so this is honestly annoying to him.

"What... is wrong?" After a few minutes of battling with himself, the words finally forced their way out of his mouth, causing him to quickly turn his head to the other side, to not make eye contact with her.

Yennefer slowly raised her head with a huge surprised expression on her face and glanced at him in disbelief.

"Luthiel..." She called him.

"What?!" He answered, still unwilling to make eye contact with her.

"Were you sympathetic towards me just now?"

She asked, and his eyes darted around before he slowly shook his head at her.

"No... I was not. I'd rather have sympathy for a ghost than for you." He replied, and Yennefer drew her head back in a bit of surprise.

"Oh... is that so? Then why don't you want to look at me? Perhaps you're slowly falling in love with me and you don't want to admit it. Huh-"

"I am not!" He quickly turned his head to glare at her, and a darkened expression ensued on his face. "I told you before, that you're not my type of woman. Nor will I ever fall for someone like you."

He yelled at her, and Yennefer, who didn't expect such an outburst, stared at him with widened eyes.

"Hey! Relax! I am only joking! You take things too seriously."

She shook her head at him before bursting into laughter.

"Why are you so red, though?" She asked, and Luthiel quickly touched his face.

"What exactly do you mean?" He inquired, and Yennefer shrugged.

"Your face is so red. It's as if you're blushing."

She wiggled her brows at him, and having never experienced such a thing called blushing before, he quickly stood up and drew back from her.

"I am just angry. It happens when I am angry." He corrected, and Yennefer slowly nodded her head at him.

"I see…" Her smile widened heavily.
