Raina cast an odd glance at Minella, who was sitting on the floor against the wall near the window. She was crouched like a scared child, her head wedged between her legs.

She screamed as she became more terrified. "Minella!"

Minella, who was sitting on the floor, was shivering very hard even though she was embracing herself with her hand while she was sitting on the floor near the windows. She was even jolting herself like a child in a cradle, up and down.

Raina's fear started to crawl inside her bones as she observed Minella's behavior and, all of the sudden, lost in thought, the book slipped to the ground which Raina was holding in her hand. Without stopping, she hurried toward Minella's direction after experiencing an unsettling sense.

She sat next to her, holding Minella's hand in her own. Although Minella's body was scorching like fire, she recognized that she was actually shaking quite violently. She pleaded once again as she was on the verge of crying, "Minella! Please don't scare me."

Minella pulled her head from her cuddling and looked towards Raina with a crying face, saying "Ria..na." with broken words.

When Raina saw Minella's face, she clutched tightly and covered her lips with her palm. She was startled by Minella's rapid shift in appearance, and she said, "Minella, your eyes..." in a trembling voice.

The jewel-like blue eyes of Minella were turned bright yellow, with her pupils stretched like an animal. Her face was soaking wet with sweat and her body was burning with fever.

This view was not new for Raina at all, which is why she spread her arms and then embraced her tightly, saying "Don't worry, I am here." She was patting her back softly as she was holding her in her arm.

Minella stated to explain in her wavering voice about the night event, "Yesterday I was reading the book in the evening after you left. I really became upset after reading the content of that book.

She was hiding her face near Raina's shoulder as she was speaking. "I fall on the floor like a doll for a few hours." but all of a sudden a thought came to my mind. " As she speaks, she grips Raina hardly while speaking, "If that book has that much secret information, then all of the upper shelves might have some other information too." I became panicked and wanted to read more books from the upper shelf. so I tried to reach it with a stick and then stood on the table. " Her voice was reeking with the stench of fear while she was speaking in broken words.

"But you already know that reaching the upper shelf is really hard for us." Raina petted her head softly as she nodded in agreement while looking at the upper floor in quick glance.

So I became enraged, and I believe I scattered all of the books on the lower shelf as a result. I was totally consumed by my anger and threw the books one after another. I didn't realize when the night fell and the sky changed to black. "

"You empty the entire lower stack of the book?" Raina inquired.

slightly tense at the end, Minella replied, "yes."

But there is not even a single book on the lower shelf at all. The only book I discovered on the floor was one from the upper shelf.

what is going on here , let her hear out at once. Raina calmed her thoughts as she shifted her attention toward Minella again.

"As I empty all the stack, I fell on the floor," Minella continued in her barely audible voice with heavy breathing. "I was really feeling frustrated and miserable because it was my fault, Raina. " She even started crying like a baby after saying that.

Raina stroked her hand lovingly on her hair of Minella while touching her back head and said, "Listen, Minella, it was not your fault at all."

"None of us knew anything about this at all. Nobody told us about it. "

"We were children."

"We did our best to make him have a life that was filled with happiness." with a firm and straight voice.

Minella jolted her head in front of Raina in order to say, "But.."

But Raina covered her mouth with her index finger, saying, "You were not alone responsible for his death at all. I was also responsible too."

She felt bitter at the thought and replied, "Yes, I remember."

"But mother abandons us without fulfilling her promise," she says as she tightens her grip on her hand.

Raina was in a daze with mixed emotions. She was thinking the same as Minella was thinking.

They are both literate too, but they are commoners, so it is highly likely that they will die because of that. They are the only family members left. and neither of them thinks of their life without each other. Raina also tightened her grip on her and said, "I won't leave you." with her fridge voice in a little pause.
