Medusa

Just as they were about to move, a heavy voice sounded out, "Nobody moves."

Looking towards the source of this voice, one would notice a burly brown-haired man in a full set of pitch-black advanced body armor that covered his entire body leaving only his head uncovered.

Upon seeing this person everyone turned silent as they stood in place, Bruce on the other hand narrowed his eyes as he muttered, "Someone from the disciplinary committee."

Seeing the disciplinary committee member, Bruce straightened his back, as he stared straight at him wearily.

"Tap!"

"Tap!"

"Tap!"

The sound of footsteps sounded out, as the burly committee member walked up to Bruce, his expression blank as he moved.

Soon he arrived at the scene, and the first thing he did was observe his surroundings, taking in the damage done before shaking his head.

"Bang!"

A sudden sound could be heard, as the committee member struck, It was so sudden, that Aiden could barely react.

Before he knew it, the committee member had already struck Bruce with a solid punch to the chest.

"Tap!"

"Tap!"

The sound of heavy footsteps could be heard as Bruce took a few steps back, his expression strained as a thin line of blood flowed down his lips.

Seeing Bruce's pained expression, Aiden narrowed his eyes, his anger palpable as he attacked immediately, burning 10% of his soul energy to increase power.

Seeing Aiden's attack, the committee member moved quickly, "Bam!"

A muffled sound could be heard as he held onto Aiden's fist, his voice coming out in a low growl, "You wouldn't be a match for me at full strength, not to talk about now kid."

"Crack!"

"Argh!"

A loud crack sounded out as the committee member squeezed Aiden's fists, causing him to let out a short groan of agony.

"STOP!"

"STOP!"

Just as the committee member was about to apply more force, two voices echoed throughout the hall, one a familiar male voice, and one that Aiden found unfamiliar.

The first one was Bruce, his expression angered as he gazed at the committee member.

Turning towards the unfamiliar voice, Aiden noticed a group, and leading this group, was a woman he'd never seen before.

The first thing he noticed was her eyes, and immediately he noticed them, he found them to be one of a kind.

The strangest thing about her eyes was the fact that her Irises had no pupils making them seem like two empty moons in the sky, those Irises had particles of different colors, flowing together in a mesmerizing manner, they were grayish-brown hue with hints of green or blue reminding one of stone and fungi.

That wasn't the only thing different about her, long black hair that flowed down her back, an unsettlingly composed expression on her beautiful face, her posture flawless as she moved, she was graceful so much so that it seemed forced.

As she strode towards him, he noticed her attire, a v-neck suit paired with a short skirt that cleverly disguised itself as shorts.

The combination exuded a sense of confidence and sophistication, with the suit adding a touch of professionalism and the shorts injecting a hint of playfulness.

Her choice of heels elongated her silhouette, adding to the overall elegance of her look. Bold statement jewelry caught the light, drawing attention to her refined taste and individuality.

As she approached, Aiden noticed something on her hand, it seemed to be a rope which she gripped tightly, no it was a leash.

Tracing the leash to its source, Aiden's eyes widened as he noticed that it was around the neck of a handsome man in a business suit.

The man, who had his head down clung to one's memory with his clean and wavy blond hair, green eyes, and an immaculate jawline.

Seeing this, Aiden was forced to look at the remaining members of her group and noticed two more people, a balled man with black eyes, and a brown-eyed woman with short hair.

Murmurs suddenly erupted as a clearing was made, the other Contractors avoiding this female Contractor like a plague.

"Isn't that Medusa?" A voice sounded out, sounding both excited and fearful at the same time.

"Isn't she supposed to be outside the shelter, I heard she took on an impossible mission," one Contractor asked the other.

"Shuuuu, don't let her hear you, hide any pointy weapons," the other Contractor answered immediately, clearly afraid.

Suddenly Aiden felt the hand that was crushing his fist tremble a bit before letting go of him completely, prompting him to take a step back as he held onto his wrist.

"Are you ok?" Bruce's voice sounded out from the side, his voice laced with worry, but Aiden just answered him with a nod before turning to observe the situation before him.

Looking toward the disciplinary member, Aiden noticed that his posture had become less confident, appearing more stiff than anything.

"Cap!"

"Cap!"

"Cap!"

The rhythmic sounds of the woman's heels hitting the ground drew Aiden's attention to her again, his gaze focusing on her.

He watched her stop before the committee members, her gaze louder than words.

She was a silent one, she didn't say anything, instead, she just stared at the committee member, with a blank look in her strange eyes as she stretched her hand.

Upon seeing this woman stretch her hand, the committee member appeared unbelievably frightened as he attempted to escape, but he didn't seem to be able to as he gazed at this woman in horror.

The air suddenly became solid as the older Contractors watched the committee members struggle with pity evident on their faces.

"Please don't do this, please, PLEASE!" The committee member's voice sounded out, his movements oddly stiff.

"Tap!"

A sound could be heard as the woman's fingers lightly landed on the committee member's chest, obstructed by his advanced body armor.

"Why did you hurt the newbie?" Her voice suddenly sounded out for the first time since she had appeared, her question lingering as she stopped touching him.

To Aiden, her voice sounded beautiful, it had a certain maturity to it that just called to him, but in that maturity hid a hint of heavy insanity.

Of course not everyone thought this way, people like the committee member were frightened, as to him her voice was nothing short of frightening.

With a pale look on his face, the committee member said, "Please Medusa, I don't want trouble, I was only doing my jo- Ahhhhhhhh."

"Crack!"

The committee member suddenly screamed, and to Aiden's shock, he could see that the skin around the committee member's neck was turning grey, a gray that seemed to be littered with cracks.

Seeing this color reminded Aiden of one thing, and that was the color of stone and cement.

"Ahhhh! Please! Medusa!"

The committee member's screams persisted for a while echoing throughout the training room, as his entire body, even his body armor slowly turned gray.

Bruce, Aiden, and every other Contractor in the room looked spooked by this, but they made no attempt to stop it from happening.

Medusa on the other hand looked to be in deep thought as she put her hand on her chin, the other holding firmly onto her leash.

Her expression made it seem as though she had no hand in whatever was happening, it was very strange.

By now the grey color had spread all over the committee member's body, stopping just below his chin, and it continued to spread.

"Medusa, stop this at once," a heavy voice suddenly sounded out, drawing everyone's attention to the person who dared to try to stop this woman.

Turning to the source of this voice, Aiden noticed that the person who spoke was Three Face, her tone dead serious as she walked towards Medusa.

"Greetings Elder!"

Multiple greetings sounded out from around the room as the Contractors acknowledged Three Face.

Ignoring these Contractors, Three Face walked up to Medusa who raised both hands and took a few steps back, putting some distance between her and the disciplinary committee member.

Unfortunately, his condition didn't seem to be getting any better with Medusa's retreat as the grey area only increased, accompanied by a faint cracking sound.

Seeing this, Three Face turned to Medusa again as she said, "Free him."

Upon hearing this, Medusa tilted her head, a small smile on her lips as she muttered, "Why would I do that?"

Hearing this, everyone was surprised, everyone except the older members of the Silence who seemed to be familiar with Medusa.

Aiden was intrigued by this new development, till now, all he had seen in the Silence were people who were respectful to Three Face, he had never seen anyone answer her like this.

Seeing the way Medusa answered, Three Face didn't look surprised, instead, she asked, "Are you trying to disobey me?"

"Ohh, hell no, I'm humbly asking you to mind your business," Medusa replied, creating yet another ripple among the crowd.

Upon hearing the way Medusa spoke to her Three Face turned back and proceeded to walk away, but just in that moment she turned into a blur.

"Whoosh!"

A sound could be heard and before anyone could react she was in front of Medusa, holding a dagger to her neck as she said, "If he dies, I'll make you regret your decision today."

Medusa: --_--

There was a long silence after Three Face's words, a silence that felt suffocating to the bystanders as they watched both ladies stare at each other quietly.

After a while, a smile suddenly escaped Medusa's lips as she leaned into Three Face's dagger.

"Slice!"

The dagger was so sharp that it easily tore through Medusa's flesh as she walked into it without fear.

Soon, blood was beginning to appear, flowing down the newly formed wound in straight lines. But Medusa didn't stop, instead, she continued walking right into the dagger as blood flowed down her neck.

Seeing this, Three Face hesitated slightly, and before Medusa could take another step she hurriedly redrew the dagger.

Seeing the way this woman acted, Aiden was shocked, "is she insane," he muttered to himself, but just as those words left his mouth, Medusa glanced at him as though she had heard his sentence.

Noticing her gaze, Aiden quickly shut his mouth, but Medusa had already started walking towards him, the blood on her neck staining her clothes.

Seeing Medusa walk towards Aiden, Bruce was surprised, but also spooked, he tried to walk in front of Aiden to protect him, but discovered that he couldn't move, his legs felt stiff like stone.

"Tap!"

"Tap!"

"Tap!"

Ignoring Bruce, Medusa walked towards Aiden, her voice coming out in a loud tone as she stopped in front of him turning back to address Three Face, "You may be stronger than me, but we both know that you can't touch me, Miss Three Face."

At the sound of Medusa's voice, Three Face remained quiet as she watched Medusa.

Seeing Three Face's reaction, Medusa nodded and focused on Aiden, her eyes observing him in detail as she said, "You're pretty."

Upon hearing this Aiden raised a brow surprised by the sudden compliment, but what followed sent a chill down his spine.

Aiden watched Medusa stretch out her hand in an attempt to touch him, Instinctively, Aiden took a step back dodging Medusa's reach.

He didn't fully understand what was happening to the disciplinary committee member, and other people seemed to avoid touching her, how did she expect him to just let her touch him?

Aiden's movement might not have been extraordinary, but as soon as he did this Medusa froze for a while, a look of surprise appearing in her strange eyes as she thought, "he moved?"

Medusa wasn't the only one surprised, her lackeys were surprised as well, including the one tied to a leash.

Seeing Medusa's intrigued expression, Aiden was confused until he heard Landon's voice in his head, "A foreign energy has invaded your body, the energy has been devoured, your soul energy has recovered by 9%."

"When did she use her powers on me?" Aiden thought to himself.

He faintly understood what happened. A characteristic of his soul energy was that it could devour other energies Aiden had noticed this at first when he was poisoned, he could feel his soul energy devouring this poison.

When he gained his energy eyes and discovered that he could see hell energy, he noticed that small portions of the hell energy around him were being devoured by him anytime his soul energy reserves were lower than 100%.

With all this info Aiden was able to deduce the fact that his soul energy would devour any foreign energy that entered his body, and when he was low on energy his soul energy would devour the energy around him to recover.

As understanding dawned on Aiden, Three Face was surprised by Aiden's sudden movements as well, but then she remembered the reason Miss Lotus was so fascinated with him in the first place, and an idea formed in her head.

Walking towards the still-shocked Medusa, she leaned in and whispered something in her ears.

Medusa was surprised that Three Face suddenly walked up to her, but she didn't lose her composure and listened.

After Three Face was done, Medusa narrowed her eyes at Aiden, who still looked confused around her.

"Well, well, well, It's not pointy but I think I like the color orange," Medusa muttered and at that moment she turned back, dragging her blonde-haired lackey like a dog to follow her.

The group of Contractors once again made way for her, avoiding her like she bore some kind of virus.

Just like that Medusa disappeared as quickly as she had appeared, leaving Aiden wondering what had just happened.
