=Peggy moved restlessly in her chair in Aida’s room. “I really want to talk to Shane.” Peggy closed her book, her finger in the page, making them all look up at her from theirs. Distracted and distracting them when they’re supposed to be reading for their exams.
“Is it three days already?” Jenny asked from her chair on the other side of Aida’s bed. “When last did you speak with him?”
“Longer than three days.” She moved her eyes and her head back in frustrated exaggerated description. “He said he has exams so he can’t talk to me. Me. We only talk for like five minutes every three days.” Okay no wait that’s not true. “It depends on what I have to say. And I have something to say.”
“Like what?” Aida asked. “You have exams too you know.” She moved to lie on her stomach, leaving her book open in front of her while she looked at her best friend.
“Yeah, and you’re supposed to be reading, not whining.” Jenny pointed out.
