Catch Up… I 62B

It was late afternoon when Sawyer woke up and tried to sit up only to wince in pain from the uncomfortable position he had been in. His legs and head had been dangling from the arms of the chair. Bearing it, he massaged the back of his neck and adjusted his glasses that were almost falling off as he got to his feet and took in his surroundings. There was a lot to clean up. But first he checked the doors, saw they were locked and went to find Tom who unlike him was in his bed.

But Sawyer didn’t find him in bed. Tom’s voice telling him to come in when he knocked came from the bathroom. And he went there and found his brother; shirtless, looking at the bruises on his stomach and chest from the night before in the mirror. Sawyer winced in phantom pain at the sight of the bruises his brother had. “This is why I don’t fight.”

Tom smirked. “Pretty sure it’s because you would lose.”

“I fought before if you’ve forgotten. My glasses broke.”
