Norton x Reader || fluff

So so sorry for getting this out so late >-< it's real cute, if that makes up for it

2nd person! Fluff with my favorite non-non this time!

You were bored. It was still four hours until your next match, and you didn't know how to pass the time. Deciding to find something to do, you headed to the kitchen to look for someone to help. As you crossed the threshold between the dining room and the kitchen, a few voices greeted you, acknowledging your presence. One in particular came up to you.

"Hey, how are you?" You smiled up at him and responded.

"I'm alright, Norton, how are you?" He pat you on the head and led you to where he was working with the others. Along with Mike and Fiona, Norton was making lunch for everyone, and it seemed to be going pretty well.

"I'm doing fine, do you want to help us?" He almost read your mind, though it wasn't hard to tell what you were thinking since you always sought to help the others. You grinned as a response and nodded as he handed you a bowl and a whisk. You began to stir the mixture in the bowl as he diced a few tomatoes and put them in your bowl. The other two silently laughed at the system you two had created without saying a word. Then, they realized that they were standing around with nothing to do, so they decided to let you and Norton do what you needed to do without their interference. You didn't see him smile at you, but the others did as they left the kitchen. You became lost in your thoughts as you and Norton silent worked to provide a nice meal for the other survivors. You didn't notice as he put down what he was previously holding and got closer to you. You only realized what he was doing when he took the bowl from your hands and set it aside, moving to hold your hands.

"Norton? Are you alright?" You questioned, his eyes fixed on yours. This little break didn't hurt anything, you thought as you brought your friend into a tight hug. Whether he was tired, hurt, or emotionally drained, you were going to help him. You removed one of your hands from his and brought it to his back, softly rubbing in a circular motion. He sighed and let a little more of his weight rest upon you, closing his eyes before he responded.

"Just really tired." Incomplete sentences seemed to be all he could force out. With lunch being almost completed, you decided to give Norton a break. Nearly carrying him, you led him to his room and gently guided him to his bed. As soon as he laid down, he was out like a light, semi-mumbling for you to stay with him. You smiled and gently left a peck on his forehead. You trekked back to the kitchen where you finished up the last of lunch and cleaned up the mess, then you stepped back and let everyone eat and take care of the rest. Thankfully, by the time you finished all of that, it was time for your match. Before leaving for the match room, you went to check on Norton, ensuring he'd be alright while you're gone. He was in a deep sleep, breathing steadily in and out. You moved to pull his sheets back over him and placed your lips on his cheek, then walked out of the room, ears catching the sigh and mumble he let out afterwards. You made your way to the match room.

You spent the match away from the hunter, in fact you didn't even know who it was. The constant beeps and rumbles of the cipher machines began to mess with your head. Only two ciphers had been completed, both by you, and you were fed up with it. You decided to search for the hunter as well as your teammates. Luckily, it didn't take you long; unluckily, the hunter decided to go after you. You were instantly slowed down by the web of Violetta, causing her to get too close to you, so you riskily vaulted the window to the snowy workshop of Leo's Memory and removed the web as quickly as possible. She followed close behind. She followed close behind for the rest of the match as your teammates got off easy as they decoded the rest of the ciphers. A cipher popped soon after you got hit for the first time, revealing to you that two people were decoding together, which was a huge waste of time. Sighing to yourself, you ran up the stairs and continued trying to avoid the spider lady's attacks; however, your evasion came to an end as Violetta incapacitated you as you vaulted the window on the second floor. As you went down, your teammates made their cipher progress known, and as Violetta tied you to a chair, a faraway cipher popped. You didn't have to wait long for someone to rescue you. The doctor's protection did nothing to help you as you were downed and chaired again, but it gave the others enough time to prime the last cipher. Emily once again rescued you and managed to successfully body-block. You two made it to the nearest exit gate when you were downed again, causing the others to pop the cipher. Emily began to type in the passcode while you evaded the onslaught of attacks to the best of your ability. Thankfully, as you went to find your teammates early in the game, you picked up a lovely little pocket watch from a box along your way. After the survivors on the other side of the map let you know that their exit gate was open, you used the watch to give yourself a safe exit, Emily following close behind.

You were exhausted, so you did what any tired person would do, and you went to your room to take a nap. Your feet, however, did not carry you to your room, instead taking you to the room of someone you knew was napping, Norton. Without as much as a creak, you pushed the door open to reveal a still sleeping Norton. What you had meant to be a simple check-up on him turned into a trap as he pulled you down to his bed, only feigning sleep for you to get closer to him. You were too tired to be embarrassed as you settled into him and his sheets. As you drifted off into a deep sleep, you could hear the subtle whispers of the man holding you.

"Good Night, (y/n)."

A pair of eyes directed at you brought you to reality. Of course you wouldn't be the first one awake, but you didn't expect to be awoken to Norton's deep brown eyes affectionately gazing at you. You began to speak, but he silently stopped you, basking in the comfort, warmth, and happiness he felt in the moment; you did too. Softly, you pulled him closer to you, wrapping your arms around him while nesting your head in his chest. He placed a hand on your back and another on your head, keeping you in that position. There was no brightness but the gentle moonlight that filled the room. As much as you'd love to stay like that, neither of your stomachs agreed, and your lack of food was a plenty good reason to get up.

"Hungry?" He finally broke the silence. You nodded and got up, holding your hand to pull him up as well. When he took your hand, you pulled hard, causing him to lose his balance and for you to help him. A smirk covered your face as your eyes squinted slightly. He only laughed and pushed himself off of you, resting his hand on your head in the process. You walked together to the kitchen, noticing the lack of people you met along the way. When you arrived at the kitchen, you checked the time.

1:02 A.M.

You sighed and followed Norton to the fridge, where he brought out the leftovers from dinner. Though normally there weren't any, someone had thought of them missing dinner and saved them two bowls of Gazpacho, a cold, vegetable soup. As you went to grab spoons and a source of light, he set up a place for the two of you to eat right across from each other. When everything was set up, it looked closer to a dinner date than a midnight snack. Because of this, Norton jokingly bowed and pulled out your chair for you, before sitting on his own. His eyes sparkled at the quiet laughter his joke caused; he shared the moment of joy with you, then decided to take it a step further. He brought his spoon to your lips, looking at you with strange intent. Humoring him, you opened your mouth and allowed him to feed you. After a few bites from his bowl, he glanced at yours, hoping you'd do the same thing. You, however, wanted to continue this little game of one upping each other. You took a spoonful, then reached across the table, pulling him towards you by his scarf, his lips to yours, effectively winning what he started. After a few moments, he pulled back, as red as the tomatoes in the soup. For a moment, you worried that you had taken it too far, until he got up and walked towards you. He lifted you from your chair and took you in his arms, lifting you up while supporting your legs from underneath. You gasped. He brought his forehead to yours, barely touching.

"I love you." He stated, sparkling eyes glazed over with fondness staring into yours.

"I love you, too." You took his face in your hands, closing the distance between you. You two sat back down, finishing your dinner date, and going back to his room. No other words were exchanged, both slightly overwhelmed by the sudden reciprocation of each other's feelings but overjoyed nonetheless. You were slightly further away than before as you fell asleep, and he didn't like that. He wanted to protect you, hold you, now that he knows you love him, he is going to show you that he loves you too, even if he isn't great at expressing it. After you were fast asleep, he pulled you close, stroking your hair softly and whispering his feelings to your sleeping form until he drifted off with the pleasant thoughts of you filling his mind.
