The next morning, Luna and I and Drago -who was hiding in my hand made palm leaves bag- were preparing to meet Theo at his house.

   "Hey guys, come inside. My mom made breakfast for us" Theo said, opening the door for us and leading us into the kitchen.

      We both walked inside his house and sat on the table full of food. I sat down with water dripping out of my mouth while Theo started to introduce me to his parents,

  "Mom, this Gabriela. Gabriela, this is my mom." he said.

   "Hello, Gabriela. It's so great to finally meet you. Theo has told me a lot of good things about you. If you need anything, we're here for you. You can call me Reyna, now before you three leave, eat this meal I prepared for you and Luna"

      I ate my breakfast, which was waffles, so fast because it was that good. Mmm, I hadn't had food like this in... ever.

Reyna must of saw me eating fast because she blurted,

   "You look like you've never tasted food before."

    "Well actually..."

   "MOM!" Theo yelled and giving his mom a cold stare.

    "It's ok Theo, I can handle it, I don't care anymore."

   "But..." he spoke as I covered his mouth.

     "Reyna I don't know if Theo had told you this, but I actually don't have a family. They passed away I guess, a few years after I was born, by a fire that broke out where I used to live in, and now I live in a shack alone with a dove, near the high school Luna and Theo go to. So that is why I haven't eaten food in months because I have no money. I honestly don't know how I'm still alive."

     "I'm sorry I didn't know. Theo should've told me. Let's pretend we didn't discuss this topic, okay?" As she wiped the tears from my eyes.

   "Thank you." 

It was really hard telling these wonderful people I had just met my story, but it also kind of nice that they are able to listen and be able to help me.

    "Looks like we're done eating. I think we should be going now" said Luna, after minutes later.

    "Bye mom, I'll be back before supper," Theo said closing the door behind him.
