A VIPER AS A FRIEND

Moyan stared dångerously at a certain direction. He found out recently that Sïn, one of he unknowingly made enëmy, recruited a vïper. That was the main reason he came here.

Not that the man vïper could turn to a snake, but he could summon and talk to them. Seeing the coiled snåke insignia , he never expected viper to be close to Lothana.

He felt conflicted. Although they bicker a lot, Lothana is still a stranger to him and he does not know how she would react if he tells her.

"The festival is about to start"! Miriam squealed. Being the granddaughter of the leader of the left court, she isn't allowed to move freely. So times like this is a memory.

"Go on. I'll be back in a jiffy". Lothana stared at a certain direction as she spoke. She was surprised to see the familiar face in the midst of the crowd.

"What are you doing here"? She asked. He didn't click to her as someone who loves this kind of entertainment.

"Just strolling. You"? Moyan asked absentmindedly. His gaze focused on the vïper who kept staring unblinkingly at Lothana .

If there is one dângerous thing about vipers, then it's their possessive nature. Once they set thir eyes on something, they won't stop until they get it.

"What's wrong"? Lothana asked with a hint of amusement it's been so long since she saw him this serious.

"That guy over there is he a friend"? Moyan asked with slowly. He didn't care who the guy was, he only cares about his relationship with Lothana.

"Yeah. Together with the girl beside him. We're childhood friends. Been through shïts together". Lothana had a happy smile on her face when she talked about her friends.

Moyan frowned when he saw the happy look on her face. It would be quite difficult to convince her about who he really is.

"What? Is he an enëmy to you"? Lothana asked with a raised brow.

Moyan flinched. " Why would you say that"? He asked carefully.

" The look in your eyes when staring at him is both cautious and vênomous. Like you want to skin him". Lothana jested.

" You won't believe me if I tell you"! Moyan patted her shoulder like he was talking to a kid.

" Try me". Lothana raised her shoulders and stood tall, trying to look imposing.

"He is a...."

"Let her go"! James said in a command. His cold tone attracted the attention of people around.

Eril walked into the woods. He had to be here to make sure to catch a loose vïper when it runs to this direction.

In there he lowered his guard. After all everyone is busy with the festival and have no time to venture into the woods.

Hearing the distinct voices, Eril stopped and payed attention to the voices when he heard them mention Tiger. In the dark world, there are two names which people don't dare to imitate. The first is thunder and the second is tiger.

Knowing fully well that they were talking about his Master, Eril stood at a corner and listened to them.

Hearing what they had in stock, Eril turned back in shock. If there is one thing that weakens his Master, then it's internal heat. It gives the souls in him more power over him.

Eril didn't know how they found out about this crucial thing but he knew that his Master is certainly in danger.

Eril quickly ran back to the square. If he guess is correct, these guys were kept to keep watch, and the plan will be in motion in any minute.

" You don't scare me Tiger. Ana let's go"! James commanded again.

Lothana raised an eyebrow. " Since when did I become your loyal dog"? She asked in a low tone.

She didn't like the way he talked to her, and James knew because he apologized immediately.

"I'm sorry. Just... this man is very dângerous, and standing ith him will attract unknown enemy to you". James adapted a soft voice.

Danger brewed in Moyan's eyes, as he thought of something. Seems like they have been watching his movement and knows that he somehow has something to do with Lothana.

There is no other way of getting information on him, other than from someone who is close to him.

A light flashed through Lothana's eyes as she stared at James. Darkness danced within her black pupils. He was suspicious.... but she soon brushed it off.

"Master we need to leave now! It's a trap"! Eril yelled in agitation.

But he was too late as more than half of the people who came for the celebration turned around, their clothes shedded off like it was pealed of, eyes narrowed into a slit, skins darkened and became like scales. They look particular hidëous!

Screams filled the whole area as people ran left and right.

"Interesting"! Lothana quipped happily. Although ugly, the creatures were quite intrudging.

James made a secret gesture to them, which did not escape Moyan's eyes.

He could accept anything but not when someone is playing with Lothana's feelings! For whatever reason it may be, he could not bear to see her being played.

"What are they"? Lothana turned to stare at Moyan.

" Is there anything that scares you"? Moyan asked in amusement.

" Their power is nothing to put into consideration. I can see the fluctuation in it. Seems like they did something they were not supposed to". Lothana said the last part in uncertainty.

Just as Lothana was speaking, the slit eyed people started forming a circle

"Come out from there Ana. It's dângerous"! James yelled in agitation.

Although his family are Vipers, he just awakened his powers and is not in full control. The snakes may do more than instructed which can cause harm to Lothana.

Moyan smirked mockingly.

Seeing his expression, Lothana glanced at both him and James. She felt that something wasn't in it's right place, but couldn't point out what.

The said snâke people, raised fire, circling Moyan, purposely separateing Lothana from him.

Lothana moved back in surprise. When she noticed what was happening, the flame had already trapped Moyan within it.

At first, Moyan could still smirk . But noticing the difference in the flames, he gradually frowned .

This is a soul awakening flame. As the name implies, it had the ability to awaken any soul that still lingered in this world as long as their is a connection to that soul.

Like the cloth of that person when he or she was still alive, and other things. In regards to Moyan, he is a direct contact to the souls.

"How did they know about the souls in his body? It could only be through Lothana as his and Eril's mind has been sealed by him.

So it's either Lothana told the so called 'friend' herself or he read her mind. Knowing her, it would likely he the latter.

Moyan wasn't ängry with her, he just felt that she would now become in dãnger because of him.

Moyan writhed in pain, as he tried to subdue the souls, he could feel the dragons in his body moving rapidly.

Finally he couldn't suppress the grunt that left his mouth.

"What the hell are you doing"?! Lothana yelled in ânger. Dánger brewed in her eyes as she stared at the snake people.

"Ana they look dángêrous let's leave"! Miriam shivered in fright. This is the second time she is sneaking out without telling her parents and it's also the second time that she had seen something frightening. She promised herself not to go out again!

"You should listen to Amy, Ana. You can't fight against those bunch alone, besides he has nothing to do with you"! James pulled her away, stared at the writhing Moyan with vênom. He had one thought in his head. 'Lothana belongs to me and no one else'!

"Get your fréàkíng hands off me"! Lothana yanked his hand way. Her eyes were bloodshot when she saw Moyan in pain.

"A-re you okay"? She asked carefully. But soon had the urge to spank herself. 'of course he was not okay'!

Moyan who had been in pain, actually chuckled. He found her amusing. The little lady had never once put her life into consideration. She is always on and about him.

The feeling of wanting to be dependent, suddenly creept up on him, but he shook his head in dismissal. His bürden is too heavy and he can't be so selfish as to let her bear it.

"I'm good don't worry Eril is here". Moyan pointed at Eril who sat leg crossed, chanting in unknown tongue. He did it in a subtle way so as not to alert the attention of the snakes.

The human snákes are like puppet and can only react to something they fully understand. Seeing him sitting like that, they didn't register him as someone that is a threat.

James also glanced at the man who sat leg crossed. He couldn't let his effort go down the drain but then he also couldn't risk getting discovered by Lothana, so he just had to stay low.

The stùpid thing about controlling snakes is that they could only do one thing at a time, unless you assign them to different tasks at a time, then will they separate themselves to do the task.

But if it's one, they'll have to finish that one before going on another. If not, he would have asked them to stop the man who sat down!.

"Can we just go? I'm really scared"! Miriam already had tears stuck in her eyes. She is the little princess of her family that has been shielded from dãnger, so she isn't used to this kind of situation.

Lothana stared unblinkingly at Moyan. She couldn't take it anymore. Seeing him writhing in pain, seeing the lethal look in his eyes as if he is trying to suppress something, she knew that she couldn't stay back and do nothing.

So without further delay, Lothana ran to the raging fire.

The snákes stared at her with vênomous eyes, she is trying to stop them from completing their task, so they launched an attack on her.

Moyan's eyes widened in horror. "Lothana stay back don't..."!!!
