As soon as he arrived at Regnz's residence, Max went straight to Vincent to officially ask his daughter's hand of marriage.
Chleo could only wait anxiously for the conversation between the two grown men in the main hall.
'What have they been talking about these two hours? Why isn't it over yet?'
As if she could hear Chleo's inner voice, Cathy took her daughter's hand and led her to sit with her.
"Calm down, Chleo. Don't be too nervous. Hm?"
Just as Chleo was about to answer her mother, Max came out of the room and told her Vincent wanted to see her.
Chleo took a deep breath and walked with determined steps towards the reading room where her father was waiting. The moment she passed Max, the man's hand caressed one of her hands, rousing Chleo's courage.
Seeing Max's reassuring smile towards her made her feel sure that Max's conversation with her father had gone smoothly.
However… why did her father want to talk to her privately?
