ORIGIN OF POWERS

We got home and went straight to bed

"Oh my babies, what happened" we heard a voice and looked up, we saw mom Martha staring at us worriedly. We just looked at her and looked back at our selves with only one thing in mind

'Did you just read my thoughts?'Blake

'Yeah, we can talk with our thoughts' Brent

'Cool' Blake

'Should we ask if Mom Martha has an element?' Blake

'Yeah, let's find out how powers came into existence' Brent

"Mom, do you have powers?" Blake asked

"Oh, no I don't" she asked "but, I can tell you about them"

"Yes please"we answered

"It happened 10 years ago, there was a warp in space, no one knew what it was or how it happened,but humans started showing powers. Scientists later found out, that there was a kind of seal in our brains and those who breaks it unlocks their powers. The ones who managed to break it were called the Gifted, had 4 different elements and they are fire, water, earth and wind. It was later known that a person can only unlock one element, the ones who unlock 2 are called Mages and they are rare. There was no threat to humans, so the gifted just experimented with their powers and wrote books on how to improve on it. And that's all there is to it. Now, why did you ask me?" She asked

We first looked at each other, then nodded

"Mom, we unlocked our powers" we answered together.

She was stunned for about a minute

"How is that possible?" She asked surprised

"Huh" I was expecting her to be surprised, but the question was unexpected

"Only people from the age of 12 can awaken, so how is that possible?" She asked again "how many?"

"Two" we answered

"Ah, you both are mages" she said
