Chapter 8: Give her to me
While Alex was eavesdropping she felt someone came behind her and saw.....
"Adri what are you doing?" asked Alexa
"Shhh I want to hear too"responded Adri
"Girls what are you doing l?" asked Eliza coming out of nowhere
"Shhhh" said both Alex and Adrienne
-back to the other side of the door-
"Son this is not child's play"
"Father I am not playing it's this woman"
"Who? Please talk clearly son"
"But father I am talking clear as a crystal, I am talking about your assistant Alexandra Faucette, she is a threat to you and this company"
"Son, Alexandra is like my own daughter. she isn't just my assistant, she is my right hand and also she respects so much more than you ever have, look son, Alexandra is a magnificent girl, think of how she would feel if she hears those things"
"But father I am not the only one who thinks like that, rumors are going around about you and her"
As soon Thomas said those words Peter furiously stood up and said with an angry voice
"Who are those people that spreading those gossips call them here one by one and I will deal with them myself, this is not college, this is work"
At this point, Thomas was terrified he has never seen his father this anger
He gulped and said" Father there is a way to prove that you haven't got any relationship with Miss Faucette and to get rid of those rumors"
"What is it?" said Peter (by the way he calmed down but still standing up)
"Your assistant Miss Alexandra Faucette give her to me"
Shocked Alexandra, Adrienne, and Eliza gasped on the other side but not loud enough for the 2 men to hear in the office
And Peter was also shocked"WHAT?! Son, what are you saying? How can I give you Alexandra, she is my right hand"
"Father this is the only way for you to show and prove you are innocent"
"Innocent? Either me or Alexandra have done anything wrong for us to prove we are innocent and either way this my personal life I can be with who I want"
"So you admit that there is a relationship between you and Miss Faucette"
"Son stop with this nonsense don't make me hit you with my shoe" said Peter angrily
-on the other side of the door-
"Why won't Mr. Wolcott just tell him that he actually has a relationship with Mrs. Susanna Adams?" asked Adrienne
"He said he wanted to wait, but in this situation he should tell him now"responded Alexa
"Wait...how do you know about this?" asked Alex
"Eh um I come one let's continue our eavesdrop" stuttered Adrienne and they went back to eavesdropping
-inside the office-
"Alright then let's decide either, you give Miss Faucette to me or not"
Peter didn't seem to think of this as an option and thomas noticed that so she used this excuse
"and who knows with some time together maybe this hatred and rivalry between me and Miss Faucette will disappear,.....who knows maybe we will become really close together and become something"
okay yeah huge malfunction there,that's NOT supposed to come out of his mouth
But those words took Peter to his fantasy world where Thomas and Alexandra coming inside his office smiling and being lovey-dovey his little granddaughter or grandson running to him so they could give him a big hug as well
as Thomas and Alexandra.
That's basically heaven on earth for him.
"Okay"said Peter smiling
"I approve"
"You approve?" asked Thomas dumbfounded
"He approves?" said Alexandra shockingly on the other side of the door
Adrienne and Eliza were speechless
"Yes, I approve, however I have one condition, you mustn't separate Alexandra from yourself at all either at break or work, you must even take her to vacation with yourself is that understood?" said Peter excitingly
"Vacation?"
"Yes, alright congratulations" said Peter shaking Thomas's hand
"Good luck"
"Alright?" said Thomas and started to walk out of the office and still dumbfounded and confused as hell
"Quick quick" said Alexa, she and the other two ran to their own desks
-time skip-
Alex and Peter were now at Peter's office, he told her about the rumors and the fact now she has to work for Thomas and now there was an awkward silence
"Alexandra I am sorry, but believe me, I had to do it for the safety of the company"
"I know sir, and in this situation, I have to quit this job"
"Alexa what are saying,why-don't say such nonsense, I would never want to lose a hard-working, passionate employee like you,...look I will speak to Thomas and tell him that the ring is for Susanna and -"
"No sir you don't have to ruin your plans because of me, you do your proposal and I will think more about quitting this job"
"...Alright, you know what best for you, but please don't resign"
"Pardon me sir but can I go home early today?"
"Of course"
And she walked out as soon as she closed the door Thomas opened his door(a quick reminder that Thomas's office and Peter's office are in front of each other)
they made eyes contact and Thomas smirked it was obvious that from her angry look she is his assistant now
Alexa just ignored him and walked up to Adrienne at her desk
"Well Adri I will be leaving"
"But Alex it's still soon" said Adrienne she was shocked Alex wasn't the type of person to go home early she would either go home on time or late but never early
"I know I also wanted to tell you that when I give my resignation letter you become Mr. Wolcott's (Peter Wolcott) assistant ok? Don't let me down"
Adrienne's eyes widened "WHAT?! WHY?"
"Hey don't act like we aren't going to see each other again we live in the same neighborhood"
"I know but still" mumbled Adrienne looking misrable
Alex smiled and walked to her desk to collect her bag and leave but Thomas walked up to her and said
"Miss Faucette tomorrow be here at 8:00 but if you could come half an hour early and organize my office that will be great. Oh and please put a delicious coffee on my desk"
"You will only drink that coffee in your dream"
"Huh? Is that way to talk to your knew boss"
"When you come to your office tomorrow the only thing you will see on your desk is my resignation letter" and she walked off
And there goes Thoma's plan to tortrue her
Thomas was about to explode this girl seems to be going this to him a lot lately
