The Priest who had sweaty hands began to stutter, "Wha-what do you want?"
"It's something simple actually." The Saintess then licked her crimson red lips. "I just want to have a little fun." On her hand, a knife had suddenly appeared. This time, the knife had moved by itself as it reached out the neck of the Priest.
"You....Sto-stop this. You can't do this to me." The Priest's claim didn't sound the least convincing. Nevertheless, the knife that was slowly inching closer to him had suddenly moved back.
"Don't worry, I'm not going to do anything to you. I just want to show a public example of what the church does to a wild witch." Her earlier murderous look had been replaced by a sweet angelic smile.
The Priest who was panicking immediately agreed. Seeing that the Priest had already given her permission, the threatening knife had suddenly disappeared from the Priest's sight. The man then gave a short sigh of relief.
Just when the Saintess had turned around and prepared to leave, the Priest stopped her. "Wait, if you're going to make a public execution then I suggest that you make it tonight."
Eyebrows raised the Saintess asked, "And why should I do that?"
"That's because...."
On the way home, Life had been skipping as she passes by the path. She was smiling from ear to ear while humming a cheerful tune. Her friends had already gone and she was just about to come and meet up with her father to do just as she had promised.
On the front door, she saw her father already prepared to go. She then hurried and went alongside her father towards the forest where she'll gather some fruits or mushrooms while her father prepares some traps to catch some wild animals.
Time had passed by quickly and the sun was preparing to set. It was soon getting darker by the minute. Her father sighed as he didn't even see a silhouette of prey so he dejectedly called it a day. Life, on the other hand, had a bunch full of fruits that she had picked.
On the way home, her father had noticed that some of the houses were empty. Wondering where the others may be the immediately asked Life to carry the basket of fruits on her way home alone as he looked for the others. Life agreed and told her father to take care as it was getting darker.
While Life was a few steps from arriving at her house, she saw a crowd of people who were holding torches. Those people were all chanting the same thing. They were all shouting it continuously with genuine hatred in their voices.
"Burn the witch!"
Life could see the old man that used to greet her every time she goes home. She had also seen her friends who were just with her this morning.
The situation was simply getting out of hand, she could see that their house was on the brunt of getting burned.
Thus, she ran. She ran towards her house thinking of her mother and her baby little brother. She could already feel her ht burning eyes as she was about to cry, she shouted, "Wait! No! Stop!" But to no avail, she couldn't save anyone as the house had already started burning.
All that she had done was attract attention towards her as she had been shouting words that were contrary to what the crowd had been shouting all this time.
"The witch is here!"
A man who resembled the friend of her father shouted. Only this time she didn't think that the person was the same as she could no longer find the kind smile that he used to give every time she sees him. All that was left was a cold and distant gaze.
After hearing his shout, the townsmen then noticed the little girl who was weeping. Seeing how she had presented herself in front of them, they all had one thing in mind.
"Burn that witch!"
