This woman clearly knew Anthea, which wasn't surprising considering how long Anthea had been here. Drake had managed to convince her that he was human, although she still harbored doubts. Drake was uncertain about the situation, but he sensed that the lady was using her powers to keep them under control.
"Anthea, do you want to fight me over some man?" the lady inquired. Drake's plan had clearly backfired, and now he had to witness the unfolding encounter. He took a step back, but Anthea showed no signs of backing down. She locked eyes with the lady.
"You're a troublesome woman, Griselda," Anthea remarked, eliciting a wide grin from Griselda. Griselda playfully pointed her fingers at Anthea, mimicking a gun before making a mock gunshot sound.
"Bang, you're dead," Griselda quipped.
"What are you doing?" Anthea inquired, receiving no response.
"Griselda..." Drake called out, diverting the lady's attention to himself.
"I forgot, I haven't ripped out your tongue yet," Griselda remarked, causing Drake to quickly raise his hands in a gesture of non-aggression.
"Hey, I don't want any trouble. I just want to leave here," Drake explained, prompting a giggle from Griselda as she heard his plea.
"Leave here? Have you seen how many people are after that thing? I hate to break it to you, but no one is leaving here," Griselda delivered a harsh reality check to Drake. However, he wasn't ready to admit defeat.
"Griselda, I want you to join us. I don't know what power you possess, but I believe it could be valuable in clearing this floor. If this is the first floor, it suggests it's the most challenging. I'm certain that the higher you advance, the more favorable the conditions become," Drake tried to convince her, albeit with a generous dose of misinformation. He had no idea what he was talking about, but one thing was certain—he was spinning a tall tale.
"Hmmm. Keep talking," Griselda responded, lowering her hand.
"Anthea has confronted the boss multiple times and failed, but something tells me your power might be the game-changer," Drake explained.
"Of course it is, I'm amazing," Griselda replied proudly.
"I have the power to create barriers; I'm untouchable and the queen of the floor," Griselda boasted, leaving Drake in disbelief. He had managed to acquire what could potentially be one of the most formidable powers available. If that were the case, the oni-demon might not be able to harm them. Despite its immense strength, what if Griselda's barrier could hold it off? It was a risk Drake was willing to take, and he had quickly formed a team.
"You're amazing, and I'd love to witness it firsthand, but we need to hit him hard," Drake emphasized. Anthea remained silent, indicating her readiness to team up with Griselda.
"You certainly have a way with words. You know what? I'll give this a shot," Griselda agreed.
Drake couldn't help but smirk upon hearing her consent. He had the defensive aspect covered, and it was evident that Anthea lacked the offensive power required to overpower the boss. Drake had already tested his mind control ability, and it had proven ineffective. If it couldn't work on Anthea, there was little chance it would work on the oni-demon.
"Where is the boss located?" Drake inquired, eager to confront it and move on to the next floor as soon as possible.
"You're quite eager, aren't you? How about we share what our powers are so we can devise a strategy?" Griselda suggested.
Drake felt a twinge of skepticism, sensing Griselda's suspicion toward them. She didn't come across as trustworthy, and Drake was well aware of it. Nonetheless, he felt compelled to comply. He could easily fabricate details about his powers, and there was no way for Griselda to verify his claims.
"Griselda, I'm afraid I can't tell you, but the three of us should suffice," Drake reassured her.
The floor hadn't been attempted in a very long time, to the extent that people had forgotten it was even a game. Anthea observed in silence, content with her initial decision to accompany only Drake, with Griselda as a welcomed addition.
"Are you ready to attempt it?" Anthea asked, diverting the conversation's focus.
"Yes," Drake responded bluntly, leaving Griselda visibly dissatisfied with his response. However, she had little choice. Griselda rose to her feet and clapped her hands, as if summoning someone. And indeed, someone appeared—a man who bore some resemblance to her in terms of clothing, but it was clear they weren't related, given his distinct features, red eyes, and numerous piercings, including on his face.
He was covered in jewelries just like Griselda, the sides of his mouth had scars like it had been cut open.
He didn't do anything when came into view except grab Griselda by the butt and pull her towards him, her ass directly pressing against his crotch.
"Stop it Alexandro, now isn't the time…" Griselda said with a giggle but all this did was encourage Alexandro as his hands slipped into her shirt to grab her breast.
Griselda bit her lower lips but she managed to break free from Alexandro's hold.
He needed no introduction, Drake knew that they were a thing or he wouldn't be so comfortable groping her.
Alexandro walked beside Griselda, wrapping his hand around her but it snuck into her shirt once again to grope her but this was more of a casual grope.
"I'm Alexandro and let's fuck some shit up," Alexandro said with a grin but his eyes lingering on Anthea's chest.
It was bigger than that of Griselda and Alexandro knew he wanted to feel them but he knew how crazy Griselda was, this was the one thing that kept him in check.
They had met here and they just kicked it off as both were both mentally insane but Griselda showed him that she was far more insane and dangerous than him.
Alexandro didn't know this people but he knew that them teaming up with Griselda would do them more harm than good.
